They definitely break 20 seconds. Tebogo wins with his crazy top speed in the thin air. The only thing that would stop Tebogo from running 19.65 or even better is if he slows down as he likes to do. The guy is special. His 300 time tells you all you need to know. If he starts prepping like Lyles, he won't be beat by anyone. Tebogo is the scariest guy out there and only 20!!
No big surprised if Lestile Tebogo win this race.
The man to beat Noah Lyles.. Letsile Tebogo. Expecting a 19.65/19.70

Lindsey looked DAMN GOOD in this race. His reaction to the gun looked almost like a false start! Then, he kept running the entire time with no sign of fading. I don’t know Lindsay as a runner from the back, but we all know Tebogo is great from behind, like Noah. I’m very excited to see unexpected greatness happening this early, from Tebogo showing the shape we always knew he would eventually have (but later), Lindsay, Sears, etc.! Paris is gonna be hot, and I’m happy we get to see it before it all goes to hell with FT ruining things for the viewers!

He is not fast though, notice how the others were catching up to him, he is a Coleman, fast start, but low top speed.
@stevie586
28 күн бұрын
@@Binahx86 wait, are you referring to the semi finals or the final? In the semi final, he got caught because he purposely slowed down. In the final, he continued to pull away from the pack while only Big Joe chased him down, but Big Joe chases down everyone, and he was still nowhere close in the end. What you just described would mean he, like Christian Coleman, is VERY fast, which is how he separated, but it would mean he didn’t have endurance. Anyone who gets way out on the field is showing they are fast; it is the endurance you’re talking about, because sprinters rapidly decelerate in the final stages not because of their speed, but just endurance. He looks amazing to me.

He just won at the tape with both running 19.71. That too with a headwind of 1.5. A 19.5 is very much in the cards for both of them sometime this year if they can time training well, avoid injury and get positive conditions.

@@alansamuel2454 you’re talking about a different race than this one (this one was the last race), but just do agree with you. Tebogo is tons like the old Lyles with his talent, although he seems like a bit of a 2.0 version. Meanwhile, I think Lindsey has 19.5 in him and will probably do that this year if he continues to train hard and also, I think he needs to improve his frequency a little. He’s fast and his steps look good, but I wanna see him turn it over a little bit faster to reach his full potential.
If people have watched Courtney Lindsey's Progress We actually don't know how good this man is yet. He's done nothing but Progress since Texas Tech. Lindsey is hungry. He wants to make a statement and also eventually the US team. Tebogo knows it. It’s going to be a showdown.
Tebogo taking the W with a 19.7
Tebogo will eventually break the WR in both the 200 and 400, and I don't think it will be too far in the future.

From Rock Island ( Quad Cities)
There’s such a big different from “the worlds fastest man” and “fastest time of the year.” The worlds fastest is the prior year champion, period. You don’t lose the title because it’s a new year, you have to earn it at the world championships. It’s unnecessary to claim someone is the worlds fastest man of the season, it literally just started. There is only one champion. The rest are just winning races and trying to climb their way to the top.
The 200 in Paris could be crazy
I just hope they get a positive tailwind. The 2023 season had too many headwinds...
@kc5466
28 күн бұрын
The headwinds affect the times not the result since they both will be running in to a headwind in that scenario. All a headwind might do is have the 200m world lead remain as it is right now.
@Elliottklassen
28 күн бұрын
@@kc5466 Well, technically the wind does actually effect athletes slightly differently. Smaller athletes tend to benefit more from tailwinds and struggle more in headwinds than heavier athletes. Still, it usually doesn't make enough of a difference to change the result, though it can.
@kc5466
28 күн бұрын
@@Elliottklassen so who’s the smaller athlete in this scenario? And you might as well blame the shoes they are wearing too for the result because shoe brands and types can affect athletes differently as well. But they’re both sponsored by Nike so the shoe thing won’t make much of a difference just like their size won’t in headwinds since they’re basically the same size.

TRP has already suggested that a headwind can be miraculously turned in to a headwind. It is a bit mind boggling but it entails changing the starting line into the finishing line and the finishing line in to the starting line. In other words instead of running in to the wind which is call a "headwind" they will have the wind behind them which is called a "tailwind." That latter term is a bit mystifying because it implies that the athletes have a tail but we all realize humans do not have tails.

Oh Fahnbulleh 😩
19.75 on the cards from Tebogo at altitude.
It’s so exciting as a track fan to see dudes like Tebogo,Knighton and Lindsey around we got some great talent to watch over coming years
Reminds me of Powell, so smooth
I’ll continue to say Tebogo could be the next Bolt as he can get solid starts, quite good drive phases, overall good max velocity and impressive speed maintainance. He is the most versatile sprinter I have ever seen! Going from 19.50 African Record (unbroken for 27 years) broke on maybe his first DL meet of his career? and 6th all-time to 30.69 World Record slapping goat Niekerk by .12 to now 44.29 WL and this is like an Olympic gold medal calibre performance… If he’s healthy he will surely kill Lindsey (nothing against him) at 200. Tebogo also showed he can even drop almost never seen splits over the first few meters of 100m race beating coleman at the WCs final in Budapest. So he got all the tools just put things together he could drop sub 9.8, sub 19.5, sub 44 maybe already this year. Let’s see!
That high altitude will produce at least 19.7 for both.
Love the vids keep it up!
Tebza is a machine if he decides to sprint all the way to the finish line without slowing his pace towards the finish line he's gona annihilate these records

That too 1.5mph. These guys can both do 19.5 with positive conditions, timing training well and avoiding injury. I see Lyles, Knighton, Tebogo, and Lindsey all capable of 19.5 more or less. Then there's Bednarek, De Grasse who are always serious contenders, then I'm not so sure about Kerely and Hughes right now, but they're also top tier. The 2024 Olympics can be seriously the most stacked 200m field ever assembled.
Tebogo must run the 800m I would love to see him in this event.The Americans andJamaicans are coming Tebogo.These will be so exciting 😅Maan!!!
If the weather is good and they’re not jet lagged, they will run under 19.70. I’m also assuming no injuries and the track is reasonably fast.
You got this COURTNEY LINDSEY!!!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 BEAST MODE💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾...👑
Tebogo has raced lindsey in the 100m in monaco and 200m in the final last yr budapest and everytime they face twbogo won so...the favourite is tebogo...probably 19.6 mid gove the altitude..🤷♂️
Just ecause it's early in the season he will run 19.70 ,he's in that good shape now if pressed he will go 19.62
My big reservation is Tebogo's age. Is this him blossoming into an all-time great sprinter with a consistent training regime right before our eyes? OR is this him pushing himself too hard too early (despite his undeniable talents) & he is already in peak form at season's start? If so, he might be burned out by the Olympics. It reminds me a lot of Erriyon two seasons ago when he ran his best 200m right at the start of the year @ 19.49 & then never really challenged it again.
He's going places. He always sprints through the line without showboating.
King Court got this !
If the wind is reasonable, we can expect a 19.6 in the cards.
in that race against Lyles where he got 19.50s he was visibly closing on him and he knocked multiple 10ths off his PB then, he needs a good fight to bring the best out of him just like Lyles imo, both of them have that stupid top end speed and strength to keep pushing in the last 60m+ when others are holding on or slowing down, if Tebogo gets a half decent start and bend to where he is within a metre or 2 of Lindsey i think he will win, after seeing how he practically jogged around that first 100m for his 19.94 i think he has a lot more to give
Tebogo the Great Bolt Hope.
Oxygen also decreases with elevation, so would be fascinating to know what is the sweet spot. Surely, everyone knows that if you dismissed the temperature, running atop Mount Everest at 8000 m would result in much slower times due to lack of oxygen.
Tebogo to win the race. In Nairobi at altitude, he should get close to 19 . 6. Maybe even faster, with a bit of wind. Roy b, CapeTown south africa 🇿🇦
Tbh he seems to be the one to break Bolt’s record. Especially If Knighton gives him a good completion
Tebogo will run 19.54
19:72
If tebogo leads at the 150m he would slow down like he always does he wont tun throught the line...🤷♂️
Can somebody explain, is the winner takes more steps or more steps faster than the second guy. They seemed in sync but the leader is propelled faster, crazy I know.
He has a mixture of Jesse Owens, Michael Johnson, and Frank Fredricks type running form. Meaning Tebogo

Well, both young and in top form and fierce competitors, but I am biased, I only cheered and routed for the USA contender; at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational were raising stars sprinters, but Lindsey reminded me of Coleman and accelerated to his maximum strength and speed, if he clocked in 10.88, was a good time, he would probably count on consistency and remains healthy: he could only do his own lane and maintain what he can do with his own strength, I hope that either he surpassed Logotho or match him or be equal to him, so we shall see; T vs L impressive, and depending upon the weather in Africa: T ( his World time behind Lyles at Budapest) and L ( his time closed to his season best or match his personal best), but I am hoping that Lindsey would WIN because he is just like Coleman of the 60m!!!!
I have nothing technical to say re Tebogo v Lindsay. I just want wins for Tebogo and Botswana 🇧🇼

All I know is the world lead won’t remain 19.88 after that race.
I think Letsile does enough to win. 19.79A. If he runs considerably faster, he'll be worn out by the Olympics
If Lindsey ran like that at worlds he would’ve made the final
