Let the thing you love, KILL you.

In this video, Elliott discusses the notion of loving something so intensely that you're willing to let it lead to your demise. Using examples from sports, including a story of a strongman who died doing what he loved, he delves into the concept of men's rush towards completion versus women's pursuit of communion. Elliott explores how this drive for completion extends to various aspects of life, including relationships and creative pursuits, ultimately leaving the viewer to contemplate the worthiness of risking everything for their passions.

Just workout in the dark and take meds that blunt the CNS like valproic acid. It might make you a bit weaker because of the neural drive, but hey, you might end up stronger anyways because you’ll be able to train longer.

Here is a summary: *Letting the Thing You Love Kill You* In the pursuit of our passions, we often find ourselves walking a fine line between exhilaration and danger. This is the essence of today's thought-provoking exploration - the notion of "letting the thing you love, kill you." As an epileptic weightlifter and jujitsu practitioner, our reader faces a very real risk with every rep, every roll on the mat. The threat of a seizure during a complex lift or a devastating slam during a grappling session looms large. Yet, it is in the face of this imminent peril that our reader seeks guidance - a perspective on whether to continue these activities that hold such deep meaning. The story shared here is a poignant one, of the strongman Jesse Morandi, who quite literally "let strongman kill him." Rather than shy away from the intensity of his training, Morandi embraced it fully, pushing himself to the brink and departing this world in a blaze of glory. This tale speaks to a deeper truth about the masculine drive - the innate desire for completion, for overcoming obstacles, for sacrificing oneself in the pursuit of something greater. There is an undeniable nobility in this willingness to risk it all for the sake of one's passion. It harkens back to the warrior ethos, where the highest honor was found in a heroic death on the battlefield. In our modern context, this primal urge manifests in various ways - from the adrenaline-fueled exploits of extreme sports enthusiasts to the creative sacrifices of artists pouring their souls into their work. Ultimately, the choice before our reader is a deeply personal one. It is about prioritizing what matters most, about embracing the inherent risks of living a life fully engaged. There is no universal answer, for each individual must weigh the costs and benefits, the depths of their commitment, and the broader context of their existence. What is clear, however, is that in the face of this potential peril, there is an opportunity for greatness. To "let the thing you love, kill you" is to surrender to the ultimate expression of dedication, to become one with the very essence of what drives you. It is a rare and profound act, a testament to the human spirit's capacity for transcendence. So, to our reader, I say this: If weightlifting and jujitsu are the wellsprings of your heart, then let them be the instruments of your destiny. Embrace the risks, for in doing so, you may unlock a level of fulfillment and meaning that few ever attain. The choice is yours, but in making it, may you find the courage to live - and perhaps even die - on your own terms.

If you’re supporting a wife and children, I would find it irresponsible and selfish to let strongman kill you. The highest purpose is to provide and protect your family, not participate in games of the ego.
