I’m turning 50 in October. No pains no issues with recovery. Doing CrossFit and hit the gym for 10 to 14 hours a week. Eat lots of eggs and grass fed beef. Sometimes I feel I need some days off to recover so I listen to my body. My fat is around 12% year round. All natural, never used anything but creatine and a pre-workout on some days.

thanx for the info and honesty dude. i'm 53 and staying leaner and a little less strong with better mobility and stamina seems to be what works for me. back to fasting 18 - 20 hours a day as this facilitates overall leaness... joint pain however seems to be a constant and I've heard and read lower estrogen levels can contribute to this.

I am on it but needed it badly. For around 12 years I had issues building muscle and several other issues including losing weight. Many said it was my diet, not enough exercise and etc. it actually was the opposite, no one would test my T levels, turns out I was so low, listed as medically necessary. I ate clean the whole time, and rode my bike every day around 20 to 25 miles, did big bike rides like 60 to 80 miles, worked out, but was still heavy. On T now and man what a difference it made, like huge difference, life changing without a doubt. Now I recover better, build muscle, etc. even lost weight, and now to lose some more I've had to modify my diet a little more but blood work has been and is perfect, 43 years old, healthy from what I can tell just have to take T, and it truly has made me like I was prior to the sudden issue of low T (or what felt like sudden!) super glad I found the doctor I did who said let's test your T and see if that is an issue. I know it isn't for everyone, but from what I can tell I will need it, because I did everything I could prior and it didn't do anything to help, taking the T was turn key for that, in very short time I saw a major change. Last I just want to say I have normal numbers, so my doctor doesn't juice me up, I'm literally at the number a guy my age should be. But He watches a ton of stuff when I get blood work done, and listens to the feedback, so I have a good doctor too and that is big.

Im, 44 (almost 45)., 5,11 tall and 93kg in weight. I have always induge in sports throughout my life and started going to the gym in my mid 30's on and off. I have not missed a gym session in two years, i do a bit running, also smoke a little weed and drink 2 or 3 beers on a Saturday night. I feel good, although a Monday can be a bit sluggish due to the alcohol at the weekend but I play football every monday night so i sweat it all out and get a hard workout. Never tried or took any steriods or TRT and im putting on muscle in the gym but its hardwork and only by being consistant. You need to train 3 times a week minimum and push it hard, whether its gym or football. If need a day or two off ill take it. I have never looked stronger and i am at my heaviest and I can still run 10k at 52 minutes. It is hard work but worth the effort.

It is called ageing buddy. I am 58, former national level rower, competitive for 15 years and lifting all of my life. Any type of heavy duty training especially from youth will wear you out and reduce your capacity later in life unless you are a special physical specimen (and there are a few in every sport). I am lucky that hypertrophy is easy for me without any TRT. I have been intermittent fasting for 5 years, doing keto and going carnivore and it really helps with muscle growth, lower inflammation response and faster healing. I have gone from workouts 4-5 times a week to 2 to be able to recover, especially the joint tissues. It sucks not to have the same cardiac capacity and power like before but you can still be shredded and strong. I find that as you get older, functional movement exercises, flexibility, balance, agility and connective tissue/joints preservation becomes the dominant interest.

i never did trt, in my mid 40's my level is at 700, i was much lower than that in my mid 30's, i think the key to my recovery was adjusting my life (left a stressful career and removed fake friends from my life, came back to god and disciplined my self, i think self discipline in itself plays a big role in T level when it comes to sex and other things, and ate healthy, added more meat to my diet).

Your joints hurt because as your test went down now that you’re off your estrogen has crashed as well. Estrogen is actually what lubricates your joints. Lazar Angelov suffered serious injuries from all the aromatase inhibitors he took. The super low estrogen crippled his joints.

I was on TRT and apparently my body responds to it extremely well because just 100mg of cypionate a week was putting be above reference ranges. Ended up quitting because it made my sleeping HR over 100 (!) and was getting some pretty nasty body acne when I had never had any in my life for the previous 40 years! After I quit, it took me about 2 months to make my own T again. That 2 months SUCKED. I would get claustrophobia just from being in my dark bedroom, would have to go out and walk for 10 mins etc. Horrible lol.

35yrs old, levels were 250 before, about 900 now, life is infinitely better than before. I fucked myself doing steroids so now I’m stuck on TRT for the rest of my life, because having 250 test levels feels absolutely miserable. I think I’m sterile from the TRT as well. Don’t do testosterone unless you need to, and don’t even think about it before your thirties or you may end up sterile and needing to inject for the rest of your life like me.

@@Booklovr1276 I was pinning twice per week, but my estrogen kept coming back high. I watched a video by Derek from More plates more dates. He suggested increasing pinning frequency. I started pinning every second day, and my estrogen went down significantly. I started pinning everyday now and it’s much better. For me, in order to not take aromatase inhibitors, I have to pin every 2 days, or everyday. It’s not a massive inconvenience, but I’d prefer if I just didn’t do steroids when I was younger and didn’t have to do it. It’s inconvenient for travelling overseas. I feel like shit if I go off it for a few weeks. My estrogen spikes and I get depressed and emotional. I’d much rather just have normal test levels without injecting.

What Doctor normally tests any male who is not showing signs of OBVIOUS and ABNORMAL TRT decline for Testerone levels? I've NEVER had my T levels tested and I'm 70 years old, lol. What are my levels now? I couldn't tell you. I have NO idea. I can tell you that I've lost about 40+ percent of my peak strength (peaked in my mid forties). Joints? Sure, a little arthritis in most joints. Only lift two days a week for recovery purposes, etc. A little slower, stiffer, less endurance, tada, tada, tada. Hey, aging happens. And you can do what you can to slow it down, but IT will have its way eventually. Until then, eat well, sleep well, train well, try to destress and enjoy the ride.
