One major point that you missed on this third video...Superman already *knows* that the Dragonballs can be used to restore everything back to normal because that's what he did to restore the destroyed Earth right at the beginning of the second video. This is the time he realizes that he doesn't have to impose any limits or restrictions on himself because he lives in a World of Cardboard, simply because he understands that there are no *consequences* of lasting or permanent effect because of the battle. Also, in the pre-battle run up, it was pointed out that Superman's vision powers allow him to see into a person's mind & soul (which was never addressed before this video) & now he understands that Goku has a Pure Soul, not acting out of maliciousness or selfishness. This is why Superman can really be a friend (& even an ally, if the situation calls for it) with Goku.

Part 1: A genuine but very flawed attempted at a researched and serious episode Part 2: A spiteful weirdly biased sequal that deemed Superman's character in an attempt (And fail) to try and mifigate the hate. Part 3: A respectful and genuine episode that fells almost like an apology.

My thoughts exactly, this was by far the best of the trilogy that and felt like an apology as you said. My only real complaints were that the fight itself was too short, there was no story or build up (Just straight into the action), and they didn't have Superman use his frost breath. They still showed favoritism towards Goku, but it's nowhere near as nausea inducing as the 2nd fight where they repeated and doubled down on the same garbage they spewed in the first fight, and they finally stopped disrespecting Superman and treating him like some Omnipotent character that's too OP to be interesting. I rewatched the previous two fights for this match. Goku vs Superman 2, everything outside of the fight itself was awful and as you said they demeaned Superman's character in an attempt to pander and quell the outrage. This doesn't even take into account the timing of the 2nd fight literally being the worst possible. Not only was the Resurrection F movie new at the time and we barely know anything about SSB, but DB Super was LITERALLY just starting.

​@@bwareistI mean the story is in the other two. It's a continuation. In the first, it was somewhat comedic and poking fun at Superman. He had a bit of fun (he actually has fun pushing his limits. He just CAN'T without disastrous results) and Goku wasn't bad, also the Earth was destroyed. So Superman wished for everything back in the 2nd one. He was annoyed that Goku had no qualms with cutting loose. It was something he always had to keep in mind. However, Goku earned his respect and he apologized for killing him. In this one, he obviously brought him back again and they were just having fun, each finding someone that can hang. That's why he chuckles when Goku said they would settle things and they traded smiles when Goku dodged his charge. Goku, knowing how strong he is and normal Super Saiyan not being enough, told him to stop holding back. Superman kinda waved it off saying he's fine. When Superman destroyed the moon and Goku reminded him they could wish it all back, Superman looked at his hand, and contemplated, realizing he could finally go all out. That was the "world made out of cardboard", which was from a speech he gave Darkseid. Then they were having fun, showing each other new tricks. They're buddies. Goku just disappointed he lost, but these guys, in DB anyway, are friends. They both knew they could fix things after. So they just had a lil chat while looking at alternate outcomes, each wanting to go again. Yeah... there's story, my friend lol.

Still can't get over the fact the voice actor for Goku voices angel dust and Jax (TADC). The talent that man has is insane.

- Yes, MasakoX and ItsJustSomeRandomGuy make cameos (in those broken windows to other realities). - I like that ending. Goku's annoyed but humble "Ah darnit", the two still chill with each other, and the view of all those windows to alternate realities (from the two swapping costumes in a JoJo panel to reaching for the last muffin to...the old men playing Bingo). - Theta State was listed as part of the Torquasm-Vo style's abilities. Yeah, DC gave Superman an Empty Mind state LONG before Ultra Instinct existed. (I think the first GvS actually talked about this Theta State before - though as part of Torquasm-Rao, which is an error.) - Of all the things I could have expected from this, I...didn't expect Wiz having the biggest existential crisis in Death Battle history. Though really, he and Boomstick both have good points about all of this - characters are more than just their combat capabilities, but it's still fun to rack our brains seeing how their skillsets interact AND appreciate their histories along the way. - Starting small*, and ending HUGE. Ohohoho yes! *(Ant-Man vs Atom)

That last part is something that I've seen many people fail to remember. We are taking the CHARACTERS at their best, not merely their power sets and stats. This is why fights like Bill Cipher vs Discord can be determined by their personalities, it's why Alien X doesn't get every ability in existence and why fights can get so passionate or be match-ups to begin with. Hopefully this episode will help people remember that the characters themselves are just as important as what abilities they bring to a fight.

Thoughts on the episode and fight gumball

I'm so glad this was written as a friendly bout, that was all I wanted. The fact that the fight was so exhilarating and insanely pretty visually is just one hell of a bonus for me.

21:44 Superman didn't fly off that planet, actually. And he wasn't looking at a star, he was looking at the hole back to his home universe. The universe the World Forger trapped him in had no stars at all. He was too low on power to fly, so he jumped. He jumped so hard, with nearly no power left, that the planet exploded under him, THEN he went through the hole and through several suns.

Galactus vs Unicron will begin with them seeing a planet, and they'll fight over it. The winner gets to eat the planet.

personally, i think that fight depends on if unicron counts as a planet. galactus has eaten entire dimensions before, so it's possible he could just.. eat unicron if he counts.

Every iteration of him is like a hivemind scattered across a multiverse and you'd have to destroy every one of them to destroy Unicron himself. And even if I'm right about that, I've been hearing arguments for Galactus being able to counter that as well.

@@Falcovsleon21 oh definitely, and it'll be interesting to see the results. but i don't recall unicron directly devouring opponents like that mid fight, and in my head, it's a key way the fight could be resolved.

This was exactly what I'd hoped it would be, a combination of "i wanna see who would kill the other" and "they would just be friends"

I think Galactus vs Unicron is gonna be 3D reason being given they even pointed out just how much this fight has been requested they’re gonna pull out all the stops for it. Going 2D after an awesome 3D battle (this one) as the finale would be very underwhelming.

AND THE SEASON FINALE!!!!!! Man, Season 10 truly went Super with Death Battle as a whole. Awesome reaction video, and can not wait for the finale.

God damn it DB Crew, you made me happy Goku VS Superman 3 exists. Stop being so talented! But fr, season 10 might be my favorite season overall. Assuming Galactus VS Unicron sticks the landing, though the next time preview looks sick.

God this reaction was so fun to be a part of. It’s probably been stated enough atp but this truly was one of the best episodes of the entire show and to share my excitement in this will always be an experience I’ll always treasure. superman's x ray vision is legitimately WEIRD. among other things, it's the original form of his heat vision, by focusing on a pertcular point hard enough, the x-rays would cause a burst of heat, which kind of makes sense, and became his heat vision. this is also why his heat vision was originally invisible to humans. being able to see it was enough to identify certain characters as superhumans or aliens in their own rights. the power has been evolving ever since, with the super bomb being it's most recent form. which means he can x-ray an entire universe out of existence, but can't see through lead. it's kind of fascinating how his powers evolve. super-ventriloquism is still technically a thing, for example.

I believe the meaning of Goku vs Superman is what happens when you put a man who represents the world of anime against being who represents the characters of comics is because it is fun and that should be shared with other people who understand that in the end it doesn't matter who wins of loses the important thing here is that we enjoyed it because it is fun.... so I say let's enjoy together the next and final death battle of the season with Galactus vs Unicron

After watching Goku vs Superman 3, I think I realized it… this may be the best season of Death Battle we’ve ever had

10 years ago… we’ve sure come a long way… DB may end some day… but I can say that it will be a big one… Thank you DB for bringing us together for some fun and epic moments!

This is 100% the best season of the show. All of the episodes have been great (Pheonix vs Raven was ok) and we're getting Galactus vs Unicron. It's been my most wanted for so long and it's the 2ND Transformers episode in a season when we haven't had one in 5

This has been the best season by such a wide margin that the best of the best episodes of every other season are about average here. What a time to be a Death Battle fan

whoever was saying it was Goku Black vs Red Son Superman was wrong, it was Goku Black vs Ultraman that made a cameo

I think the best part about this season is just proving how far Desth Battle has really come. Because compare this to Season 1 and it is different as Night and Day. It is amazing to be a DB Fan now, and this was the perfect way to end a fight and match-up like this one. I'm very excited for Season 11 and where it could go!

I knew Superman was going to win, but I appreciate the final hurrah for the characters and that the did them justice. Still wish Goku could get a w once.

Looks like Superman has quite grown during his bouts against Goku! From "Uh, okay, looks like I have to deal with this strange guy now" over "I have no choice but to stop this dangerous guy" to "Sure, I don't mind being your sparring partner, friend!" No matter what you think about the other two episodes, I think that is a pretty neat arc!

Link vs Cloud 3 when? Seriously, I don't think that second episode was handled that well, mostly because Link being a silent protagonist is not enough reason to claim that they have to make up a character for him. There are also a lot of details they got wrong; I'm more familiar with Link, but I assume that might also applies to Cloud. Like many felt about "Goku vs Superman", I am also hoping for a episode that just generally represents the chars and franchises better, even if the result wouldn't change. And a very vocal part of the fanbase seems to be biased against Link since the very first fight 10 years ago, which made the second one feel like those people only saw it as a grudge rematch where "Cloud better wins". But I'd honestly prefer to see new matchups instead of potential retreads. There must be more, if not also more interesting options for both Link and Cloud.

your not wrong really, the authors of super man were jewish and they made him as a kinda repersentative of god in a way, infinte power thats not corrupted him and used is used for good. he became a allagory for jesus later as newer writers werent jewish so they changed the Metaphor. the 'EL' part in his kyptonite name is simmler to the hebrew term 'el' which means god. elo'him is a hebrew word often used to mean "lord-god" or 'highest god' this was often used as a replacement to using the true name in the same way that "LORD" (full caps) is used in some modern translations of english bibles. the writers didnt go as far as to actually call him jehovah/yahweh but they certainly referenced it.

It is a disappointment that bringing back a character just to kill them again but that is such a small thing because this whole episode was fantastic!
