Let's Re-think Mangle's Endoskeleton - Model Showcase (Five Nights at Freddy's)
Фильм және анимация
Here we analyze, break down, and re-make the endoskeleton for Mangle from Five Nights at Freddy's, trying to tidy up the model without going so far as to stray from the core design.
This is the model I made for my Five Nights fan-animation 'A Distant Voice': • A Distant Voice (Five ...
A few extra tidbits about the model that aren't covered in the video:
The addition of the tail and the parrot on Foxy's shoulder are not especially canon, particularly not the parrot. I included them as useful places to justify having extra limbs attached, and I had the freedom to take these kinds of liberties since we never quite see pristine Mangle in the game. We have a solid idea of what the design looks like, but it's always at least one step removed from canon, such as the stylized version in FNaF World or as part of the series's line of merchandise.
One odd little clash between Mangle's before and after states is the pirate hook: In depictions of Toy Foxy, the traditional hook is there, including in a pre-release teaser from before FNaF2 released. But the actual model for mangle has two hands instead. Also strange is that Mangle's model has the spherical bunny tail from Toy Bonnie instead of the fox tail seen here. I made these changes to my version to fix what I can only assume is just some minor continuity errors and/or shortcuts taken when making the original model. FNaF2 was made in an incredible rush to strike while the iron was hot after all, so oddities like that are to be expected.

I love how you questions Mangle's skeletal structure but not how a heavy animatronic like Mangle are able to climbs on walls and ceilings

There's probably enough power in its motors and stuff that it can support its own weight just fine. Y'know, otherwise how could any of the animatronics stay standing upright without external help?

I don’t bring it up in this video, since this is mostly just about the visual design and not behavior. But in my FNaF2 animation I made this model for, I did make sure to be a little more restrained with Mangle defying gravity compared to the game. kzread.info/dash/bejne/nXt1u6WCXa7Qebg.htmlsi=lzInmJrFq8hUgww2

In FNAF AR, before Mangle was added to the game there was an Email that released which actually addressed this. The Enginners that made the Replica Mangles were unable to recreate the Originals ability to crawl on walls, despite recreating the mechanics perfectly. This pretty much Confirms that the Original Mangles ability to walk on walls was entirely paranormal

Dang, you're gonna make the Jim Henson creature shop workers have an existential crisis.
I honestly had the same questions while building my Mangle celling decoration irl... My god he’s done it again. The sounds, the looks, even animating the servos is just madlad energy. Amazing work.
I might be crazy here, but is the sound just a little bit out of sync, like a fraction of a second ahead of the visuals? I'm always paranoid about that, because my previous editing software always put the sound a few frames out of sync, which I had to manually compensate for when rendering. I genuinely can't tell if I'm tricking myself into seeing it here or not, especially because I can only notice it when watching the video on certain devices. It would be a real shame if it is out of sync, because I spent so, so much time on the sound effects, but it's not a big enough deal to warrant taking the video down and re-uploading it.

This was a fascinating look into Mangle’s design. Your version looks really good; despite the total design overhaul, it’s still similar enough to Mangle’s original silhouette, and the older parts mixed in with the new were a nice touch. Well done!

This is almost exactly what I think about when I ponder realistic Mangle endo. The hips work a little differently in my iteration but this version is much more accurate to the in game pelvis design. The hip to leg joints being mounted downward first fits with the almost flat pelvic shell. Though the leg splay hinge would likely be flimsy in reality. This has given me quite a bit to think about. Well done as usual.
The king strikes again. Seriously you never fail to amaze me . As a rookie 3d modeler/animator im just FLOORED at the detail into these models and animations go. I know i probably said this before but i cannot stress enough your skill.
Wow, it's so beautiful and brilliant, I really like how you make animatronics as if they can be made with your own hands, you should get a lot of popularity
THANKS FOR POSTING THE ENDOSKELETON DETAILS! I have been longing to have them for so long!
I expected a jumpscare at 2:39 haha, great job as always!
Don't forget the "Third eye". It's only seen when Mangle was in their beginning room in FNaF 2 laying on the ground. I suspect that Mangle may have not been messed up by kids, but something else happened to them where some other Endo was mixed into them, but this is just a mini theory of mine.
"Subjected to the entropic forces of unsupervised toddlers." Destruction and mayhem, seems about right for 'unsupervised toddlers'.
always love how you portray the eye mechanism-
I love this so so MUCH. The skill you display in this, there are no words. I have always been fascinated by mangle's design, thought it would be a fun thing to play around with, and to see you try to make sense of it just got me beaming with joy. She's wonderful- perfect, even. And I can't help but think that the design style you chose for her limbs and joints really makes them seem appealing to toddlers disassembling them, they look like they could disconnect and rejoin easily, but that's just me. Small notice but I like the singular limb beside the hook having half the joint plating, really sends home that incomplete, dishevelled look of hers. Incredible!!
Now thats probably one of the best animations about mangle ive seen so far. Such a great detailed and understanding video.
The lighting, sounds, animation, and model IS SO GOOOODDD!!!!!!!!
Yo that’s so detailed of mangles endo skeleton! Keep the cool work superstar!🎉
man I really love what you are doing, those are genuenly the best rework I've seen so far, it just looks so good hell, there is things to learn here even
Love your stuff, man. Your animations are awesome, but your model showcases are probably my favorite thing on your channel because your redesigns are substantial, but also somehow subtle. You're good at taking what's already there and just making improvements to it all over the board that don't fundamentally change the design, and I think that's a good thing. Keep up the good work!
Holy hell, I love this reimagining design of Mangle. And I never realized that spare parts of older animatronics were used for Mangle until now.
Watching these videos feels like sipping on a fine wine idk how else to describe it, great work coming up with the whole "its more realistic to have mixed parts from old and new" idea since it just makes so much sense.

whenever i design some kind of robot character i always enjoy thinking about how the joints would work and if they make at least some sense, so i enjoyed watching this the sounds were really well done, and i like how the design turned out
Broooo i love it so mutch, i love to se the solutions you came with to solve the design probles, man, your work is priceless, realy, claps
That is an astounding level of detail, excellent work!
These in-depth breakdowns of your models are my favorite videos on your channel, aside from your music. I love seeing how you think up plausible mechanics and implement them with such attention to detail. All these little pieces really help your animations shine!
Hi! You are the best of those who model animatronics. Everything is so clear and simple in their design. When I make my models, I will focus on your videos as the best instructions to understand how the details of real animatronics are connected! Thank you so much for having such a cool creativity!
I adore the model breakdown videos you do, really hope to see more in the future! I’d love to see you tackle the classic animatronics and their endos sometime.
Everything about this feels so...real... You did an incredible job as always 👏👏
That was super awesome! I really enjoyed how you went about redesigning Mangle!
You never ever disappoint with your uploads!
Awesome animations as always! Mangle's differing endoskeleton has been something playing on my mind for a short while, so seeing your interpretation on what it could have been satisfies that curiosity a bunch.
Dude I don't know who you are but I love you, you don't know how happy I am to see someone who FINALLY thought about this, I thought it was the kind of details that only I noticed, I loved the result, not only their unique endo skeleton(funtime Foxy) but also the final version(mangle) anyway, just thank you so much man this is AWESOME
Looking forward to seeing more videos, And i just love coming back to watch this video every now and then.
You keep doing amazing stuff :)
i just have to say: i ADORE the fnaf fandom growing up and falling in love with the technical aspects of the games. The animatronics in particular have ALWAYS sparked interest in my little mechanic brain, and seeing you take inspiration from actual animatronics and be so observant as to take the lack of gaps into consideration? it’s awesome. I appreciate every morsel i can get of technical fnaf knowledge.
A new video! How cool! =D Great redesign
Great animation, keep up the good work❤
Absolutely love the practical (as possible) approach to these. The internal details are often overlooked, so it's refreshing to have some real weight behind what makes the designs tick. Whether or not the premise itself makes sense, having the actual foundation built on something that feels real goes a long way in selling a concept.

Also, after seeing your Funtime Freddy model, and some of things you had to say, the issue of how far removed they are from any functional sense was something I was tackling for awhile. However, I think I have a good solution. It's being used in some pretty advanced prosthetics currently, but artificial muscles fit the style nicely. They're not quite the solid metal cables of the original, but they more cleanly fit the flex that they implied.
I love how your video don’t try to hard and over do it with over stylized models and vhs effects, just letting the animatronics be creepy on there own that raw fnaf type horror, love it
Beautiful redesign ! Mangle being my favourite Fnaf animatronic I will say your model is fantastic. Yes Mangle is supposed to be a mess but you trying to make it more "realistic" as in believable, is so cool !
how does this look so good? awesome job m8
this is truly a interesting breakdown of mangle as a concept, i can tell you know how machines work. i might re-think on getting back into engineering because of this!

Underrated as hell. So cool.

This makes me curious about how they're going to add that factor of realism to Mangle for the 2nd movie. We've already gotten a BTS photo of Mangle being made, but this just makes me all the more curious
I love the attention to detsil that comes with your models. They are new and innovative for the fandom without being fnaf 4 edlords or fnaf 2/6 plastic fests. Amazing
the idea of the extra arm being from withered bonnie is so cool. i have no idea if its actually cannon, but its totally in my head-cannon now lol
Awesome work
I love this!! These that you do are so fun! I love the visualizations and especially the comparisons between how the shell would fit over the skeleton. I also had no idea Mangle was a Toy animatronic, I thought he (she? Isn’t Mangle a she? I can’t always keep up) was a FunTime!
@TheNickofTime

Mangle is the Foxy counterpart of the Toy animatronic series, but Funtime Foxy in Sister Location has the same white/pink color scheme, so they’re easy to mix up. An easy way to tell the difference is that the Funtime animatronics have seam lines in their faces and limbs. As for Mangle’s gender, that was what was likely just an inconsistency in FNaF2, which was then made into a running joke in response to fans getting into massively overblown fight trying to pin a defined gender on Mangle using obviously contradictory information. To this day, these white/pink Foxy variants use alternating pronouns, much to the delight of many LGBT+ fans.
I love the idea of creating endos for characters that have none in FNaF. Keep up the good work!
Bro the animation and sound design are so fucking good
I’ve been watching a lot of your stuff man and this is the best one yet, I’d love to see more in the future! And I was wondering if this will ever come to SFM.
This is a nice look into the mechanics of the mangle, nice bruhh
This is very impressive. As someone who's interested in robotics and how terrifyingly real we can make them this is something i could see myself doing in the near future, hopefully creating a fully functional spider robot
Beautiful
I love this so much
This is just so cool
Incredible
0:33 Dude, seeing the fully rendered 3D toy animatronics just for the view to slide to a JPEG of Mangle is so accurate. Once you figure out that most of the time she is just a 2D image slapped onto the room renders in Fnaf 2, it’s so surreal to compare him to the actual 3D renders.
I love how FNAF is still popular and still remembered by so many ❤️
AAA THATS SO COOL!
Dang mate, that's gorgeous.
Excelent job
This looks amazing it would he cool if you showed how sun and moon switched or how glamrock freddy stomach works realistically or your interpretation of scrap baby
@TheNickofTime
21 күн бұрын
Sun and Moon I don't have much to comment on, they switch in a way that's pretty cartoony without much room to work in any realism. Freddy has the opposite problem, with a skeleton more mechanically feasible than anything in the series before him, so I wouldn't have much to improve. Scrap Baby, on the other hand, I do intend to get around to someday.
