Sounds like a pretty standard Tuesday to me.

As it turns out coversion therapy can work, its just that instead of torturing the person you have them loose at MONIKERS, which for Dom does count as torture

We’ve played this, but with the family members writing things down. All were thrown in a bowl and drawn randomly every round. There were 18 people playing, 2 teams of 9 of course.

you can tell hollys acting training coming in handy at the charades part

I would love to see the hand puppets and "only head above the table" rounds. If you feel the game would be to long, you can just start with fewer cards.

Yeah, she carried throughout both of the games, both speeding through the easy ones, and coming up with a really good ways to get the hard ones

Hey, I have an idea for another type of Monopoly, it's called Drinkopoly, but I affectionately call it Drunkopoly. Here are the rules to it; This is how to turn Monopoly into a drinking game lads. Enjoy lads =-D The game plays as normal with just a few rules added on: Drink if you land on someone's property but down it, if they own the entire set. Drink a shot if you land on a hotel Nominate someone to drink for 5 seconds should they pass ‘GO’ Land on Chance, the barman chooses a shot/drink for you Land on Community Chest, and you get to choose the shot! Roll a double, down your pint. If you land yourself in Jail. Bail is to down 2 pints to be released. If the bank owes you money, you can choose to have someone down their drink.

Mukbang just means "eating broadcast", you don't have to eat a lot of food. Originally people just streamed themselves eating because they were lonely at meal times.

This is basically a commercialized version of a game called "Salad Bowl". It is a ton of fun to play at a party and I highly recommend it.

At 42:57, in Blair's defense, at 4:20 when Holly asked for a clarification, Holly asked if you could use actions in the first round, and this was probably misconstrued/misremembered by Blair as "Can you use actions in the first (two) round(s)?". At least, that's how I interpreted it. I assumed it was a "cascading" set of rules, where the base set was just restricted. And since the base set had actions allowed, it makes sense that the second would also have it. Rephrased, it makes sense that it would go: Round 1 is actions plus gestures, without using the words on the card. Round 2 is only one word (plus actions). And Round 3 is just actions. So from a logical progression point of view, Blair's thought process was sound.

To be fair to Blair, in round 2 of Time's Up you can do gestures still, and it's almost the exact same game as Monikers. Easy mistake to make.

Such a fantastic episode. Too many moments I want to reference, I'll just say A+ work by all!

Another fantastic bit of fun from the Board Game Clubhouse! I've never played Decorum, but it was very popular at my FLGS before I moved, and overhearing it was hilarious, so I can't wait to see how the Board Game Club Irregulars handle it!

My pop culture knowledge is getting decidedly dated. There was definitely a lot of more recent stuff that I didn't recognize (although there were some older references that made me smile). Of course, the rapid-fire pace of game play makes it more difficult for this new knowledge to sink in, so this old dog won't be learning a lot of new tricks. 🤣🤣🤣

Oh I’ve played a version of this at a party once, we all wrote down three characters and each had a minute to get through as much as we could (in teams still). I didn’t get the memo of well known fictional characters, so one of mine was Karl Marx, Scooby Dum, and Lola Bunny. For the one word round people just said my name. This is gonna be so much worse I’m so excited!

Game 1 - Total points in Round 1 = 81, total points in Round 2 = 83, total points in Round 3 = 82... Cards didn't change, point values didn't change... Maths!

If you're counting Smash Bros then Mario can double jump. Also, there's no reason why there needs to be only 3 rounds, if you're having fun, you can make up rounds, we've done stuff like charades under a bedsheet, hand puppets behind the sofa, facial expressions only

Pretty sure if Ken gets the last turn in round 1, the first turn in round 2 AND the last turn in round 2 AND the first and last turn in round 3 then yes, his team does get extra time. He only has like 4 cards on his turn he doesn't need the full minute

The first team always gets more time (unless the game ends exactly when someone on the second team finishes their time, in which case it would be equal), the in between rounds don’t matter because each person always gets a minute total even if switching between rounds (which means that after anyone on the second team finishes, both teams have spent an equal amount of time guessing and at any other point in time the first team has played more), if the game ends during the turn of someone on the first team, they got exactly as much extra time as they took in that last round, and if it ends on the second teams turn, the first team got extra time equal to one minute minus the amount of time the second team took in the round that ended the game, ultimately, though this extra time is always going to be under a minute, so I don’t think it matters all that much

There also isn’t really any way to avoid this (the easiest way to understand why it’s impossible to avoid the first team playing for a greater [or very rarely an equal] amount of time to the second team, is to simplify the game, if you had one card, the first player could end the game on their turn at any point, and the second team would obviously have spent less time playing, because they never got to go at all, and even if they managed to win on their turn instead, unless they did it at the last possible second, it’s impossible for them to have played as much as the other team, because the other team played for a minute, and they played for less than one, the only real way to avoid it would be to allow everyone to guess, cut the teams out of the game entirely, and rework the scoring, and at that point, it’s a significantly different game), in fact, the mechanic of continuing the next round with as much time left of the minute as you had from the previous round serves to keep this at a minimum, where more intuitive methods would be to either go to the next player and start them with a full minute or continue with the same player starting with a full minute, these methods would actually lead to a slightly greater time disparity between the teams (with the first method someone on the second team might end up with one card that gets immediately guessed in rounds 1 and 2, which would pass it to someone from the first team, which leads to a maximum of three minutes difference, and with the second method, someone on the first team, could end the rounds at the very last second, also leading to a maximum three minutes difference between the teams)
