Each of the first four techs in the Smuggler military tree is solid for the early game. You want tons of manpower to grow your pillaging army, as well as to crew harvesters, and build militia since your forces are often far afield. Extra pillage gains speaks for itself, and a flat 15 water from Guerilla Tactics is excellent as you can devote your precious early building slots and plascrete to buildings other than few collectors. After getting those and the first techs from Economy and Statecraft you can head for illicit methods in the Expansion tree to negate all those Authority maluses from Benny hilling your way around the map.

No one expects the dread Fremen airforce! I spent a lot of time and attention trying to figure out how to stop the haggard Turin raids here, a real thorn in my side! Our Ecaz friend was terrified that I would backstab him in his death struggle with Atreides so I blackmailed a spice field or two from him and kept the peace which allowed me time and space to grow wealthy and powerful. Atreides did try to push but was very light on ranged units so the fremen airforce was able to blast him with impunity. GG lads!

This was just depressing to watch you 1v3 beat their armies and even got 2 win cons at the same time.

Man what a game. That Fremen player was really good. At one point they could have potentially had 3 victory conditions within reach if they had been able to get gov. which is crazy. And the fact that they basically 3 v 1ed for like the last quarter of the game and won pretty convincingly is mental.

yerrrrs! more dune! So my apprentice bought me this for xmass - totally unexpected and awesome, so when i have a clue after checking out single player i may have to inflict an old man with Zero micro skills on your community. Oh and when I say old man.. I played dune 1 - on the 386. I expect zero mercy ;)

Turin, your commentary makes watching you play 1000% more fun.

The water guy for smugglers is as important as the double building advisor for Corrino. Early you should find all players and one village of theirs. Build den on one of their cities with the water for 20 money.

Guys. How come Turin did not put crew into his harvesters even like 40 minutes in. He's floating 200+ manpower and did not crew so it has to be deliberate. What could be the reason?

Scavenger drones would have been awesome for economic gains (upkeep reduction with tech, money from dead units with gear). Also, water merchant does require 5 water from you for the 20 solari. You can get the other water building to get 3 back tho

One of my favorite things about Turin is his abject refusal to play anything that's high tier.

1st: you need to get infiltration cells on your target. That allows you to get level three intel - similar to how you acquire level three Choam, Spacing Guild, etc… 2nd: when you have level 3 intel, you can begin an assassination operation on your opponent. 3rd: Your assassination will automatically progress but will slow down with time. You need to send assassins to your infiltration cells to reset this timer and keep the progression level high. There is a lot more to it. Opponents can use counterintelligence to capture your agents and temporarily disable them, opponents can uncover your infiltration cells, etc. And assassionations require an upkeep cost that increases with time. Tricky win con! Let me know if you have any other questions. If you’d like, try it out against bots

your play saaks in 30 mins i lost 6 harvester naaab

Turin you should really research this game a bit more because not only do your armies always loose but the enemy beats you also on heg and choam during all that. Its really not fun to watch you have almost no impact against better players.
