Let's go till some soil or try to 🤷♂️🙂
** Ok guys, I wasn't sure if I was going to release this video just due to I wasn't sure if it was a fair representation due to field conditions, but I think I said that enough in the video, so people will understand.
** I feel really blessed that I have the opportunity to work with different manufacturers, and dealers and get to try different products. So thanks again to Canada Harvest West Centre and I look forward to trying it again in better conditions. 🙂
** Hopefully we can do a "till down" with different types of high speed tillage, and do some in field comparisons. Especially since they seemed to have shut down all the farm shows due to covid.

Mike, you should always remember what these european machines are built for. I am from Germany and we have a thing called StVO (Straßenverkehrsordnung), this thing tells you how to behave on the road and stuff, it’s basically a law. And this StVO says that vehicles are allowed to be only about 3 meters wide. So if you want stuff like duals or another set of wheels on your Lemken you gonna get wider than 3 meters and if you want to ride this puppy legally on the road you got to ask for permission (If you’re not wider than 3,5 meters). If you are wider than 3,5 meters and have no permission you can run it on Feldwegen (I think you call it backroads) but not on main roads. So if we want to make less ground pressure by putting wider tires or stuff on our machines we ether can’t or it is such a hard way that it wouldn’t be worth the effort. So remember if you complain about the Amazon Panthera being to slow remember in Europe all the self propelled sprayers are running 40 kph (25 mph). So the laws are a bit harder over here and that’s why the brands can’t always build the machines how you want them. They are designed to fit for Europe mostly. So greetings from Germany, stay healthy.😂👌🏻 By the way nice vid.

StVO also applies to Feldwege, since they're considered public space as well. Also with the Pantera, North America has no such laws when it comes to drift, so they basically can spray as fast as they want. Other than that, you're spot on that our EU machines aren't really made for overseas.

Farms thought are much bigger in the americas then europe. That also causes a difference in laws and plus north America fed the world so farming is much more ingrained here than it is in europe. Nothing against European farms but a ton are farmed with what are consindered compact tractors that are 45 to 100 hp vs U.S. where our new tractors are 200 to 400 hp or even larger and 500k to 700k for a new tractor that is set with everything farmers use now.
Couples who till together are still together.

I have a question. what is the point of watching some random guy trying to make a video on his phone, no drone shots no go pro not even some fancy music to drown out the endless talking???? The answer is It's Mike Mitchell Informative interesting and very entertaining oh and occasionally a glimpse of the boss his wife. Nearly 89 thousand subscribers and counting keep up the good work Mr Mitchell and don't change a thing.

Brother. I appreciate you so very much. Your energy is infectious and welcomed. Your a great human being.
Damn nice of your Father inlaw to let you play with his toys !!
So only tilling around the slews. I ask a lot of questions because I find this interesting. I’m not a farmer, but a gear head. I worked for Detroit Diesel for 42 years and spent the last 18 years in the states before retiring and moving back to Canada.
Love your farming videos and the fact that you don't run down any specific colour or company. Sometime, please include your lovely wife in a photo, love to see that a lady seems to run the equipment as well as any fellows. All the best to you both, again love all your videos, thanks.
Mike good morning, 7:05 AM. Setting at my kitchen table drinking my coffee and watch you do your farm work. Mike you are always very educational, that is what makes you the best to watch. Have a safe day and that is for everyone watching as well.
Hello from Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada. Thanks for sharing your great video’s please keep them coming.
Nice to be back in Ole Red quite missed him
Nice video Mike, we appreciate the time and effort you put into these videos!💪🔥

Enjoyed the video! Thanks! :) I hear you about loving the land--good times.
Great attention to detail in tidying up the fields.
I have listed to a number of your videos, I have never heard a bad word. I like that
"That sounds personal " Good answer. 😁
Fall tillage is one of the many great jobs on the farm love it
20 miles away is a nice ride! Glad ya got a lil done! 🚜
The term Recreational Tillage came to mind at first, and when you mentioned playing in the dirt with your Tonka trucks that confirmed it. 😂
Thanks for sharing the vast knowledge of farming you have and giving an insight on how big scale farms get r' done! I'm just a little guy in terms of acres but I share the same passion for farming. Have yourselves a Merry Christams and Happy New Year! I'm looking forward to what the 2021 season brings for your videos! I got my popcorn ready haha
I already know the disk plow uses independent bearings for vertical disk angle, and a disk harrow uses a gang axle so it can only adjust horizontal angle. ( and disk concavity.) But I also know all those extra bearings and mount points aren't free, so what is the practical advantage of the light disk plow compared to a heavy[or med] disk harrow? I say 'light' disk plow because at one time they were available in large disks each similar in work duty to a moldboard bottom.
Mike, Mike!!, I have a question, Well actually a few. You have mentioned that you are constantly looking at land to acquire to add to your farm's operation. So maybe you can do a video talking about the due diligence you do as you look at land to add to your operation's portfolio. Thanks from South Texas,
Def most satisfying time of year!
Great Job Mike 👍
He says "just a 20 mile move to the field, not a very long move". 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks Mike!
That does look like a lot of fun! Always wished I could farm. My 14 year old son is making plans to. He has an interview with our local New Holland dealer. God bless you Mike, love your videos.
So glad you did this one mike, so my old man can see how well these work
You and Ashton are a great people I love your videos q&a would be nice you have a safe day Mike God bless you all
I would love to have that setup. You the man!
Hey Mike & Ashtyn!, really nice to see something else, some good and sound tillage work in the slews and cavities, nice to see more of the soil you are farming at btw! Looks good. Nice tillage tool this Lemken, nice European stuff👌😉 The birds seem to really like what you're doing as well🙂 Looks good and the deep frost will do the rest throughout the winter👌
That looks like an absolute BLAST bustin them sloughs
Great video. Nice to have your sweetheart with you. I would like to hear her talk and talk about her experiences cuz I believe she's probably very intelligent. God bless you all.
Mike Mitchell, many thanks for creating and publishing your videos. The size and scale of the farming operation you are involved in is quite breath taking, and indeed seems quite daunting. Here in Scotland, a 10 ft Lemken Rubin 9 pulled by a 150 hp tractor cultivating a 20 acre field would be more typical of scale . I was a bit surprised that some of the u bolts holding the disc assemblies to the main frame didn't break off ,as from experience, the disc assemblies don't like being pulled around corners when in the soil. Thanks again for the opportunity to see a sample of canadian farming life.
Great tillage video , that tractor played with that tillage equipment. 👍🇨🇦
Keep up the good work
yep that looks fun
Mike where is the rest of your men and tillage team ? you want 10 tractors & wide protills to make an impact on the job ! eat the job be the boss !!!!!!! TOM FROM THE UK
Great day in the field, take care stay warm . We will see ya later 👍👍😊✌
Does a pretty fair job!
Great video Mike good luck pro tilling your ruts
I love it Mike u had yourself named in the tractor as "someone cool" ahah that was hilarious.
yes lemken it's always good.
The way that thing unfolds is kinda neat. Probably more sensitive to breakdowns.
The new Lemken Rubin 10 and 12 don´t have the problem with dog-tailing anymore because they changed the orientation of the discs. In both rows the orientation of the discs changes in the middle. Greetings from Germany by the way! As a farmer from Germany I´m really impressed of the dimension of the machinery you´re working with. Safe to say it´s a different kind of farming you´re doing in Canada and I love it. :D Keep up this kind of videos I love them and watch every on of them!

Lemkens are probably sturdiest European made machines. As typical over-engineered in Germany. Pretty sure a sticker says it on the machine. Three times the parts any other make 🤭

Farm equipment is basically big toys for adults
i love discing, make the field smooth and destroys all the stalks(i hope call them like this)
Great video---would love to see the Q& A with Asthyn
So Mike, have you ever tried to deep rip those sloughs? Pull a 5 or 7 shank deep ripper through the slough’s with the shanks ripping 30+ inches deep and maybe get the water to soak down deeper? Just wondering?!
Yes the quadtrac amazing can't wait for seeding. Also nice lemken.
I love plowing after digging I spend 16 hrs + no one around me we plow all of our grain ground about 1200 acres and we also grow 1300 potatoes
Does a damn good job I'd say. Pretty aggressive disc angle settings probably.
Im a deere and new Holland person but the old cases and some newer ones are pretty good
As always mm getser done
Mike I'm also of opinion that after heavy crops, when stovers are deep, you gotta do some incorporation, even when drilling and min-tilling, otherwise you gonna lose on germination percentage and yield.
Jealous on you Mike, I think you got one of the cutest girls in Canada :D. Keep up the interesting videos and farm on. Regards from the Netherlands!

I find your kind of free form tillage fun and satisfying also no straight lines and straight confined boundaries!!!! Getting that overgrowth knocked down and chopped up will help it dry much faster in the spring !!! Your in-laws find that ground to undesirable to want to farm it ??? Recreational tillage as we call it around here may not be real economical but hey it's your dime right !!??

Literally every Reuben here in Eastern Ontario had those stupid harrows ripped off and thrown in the fencerow! First 50ft heliador showed up at a bto's farm this spring.
am i the only one hearing him say " get the fuck ball out of the way " ? ;-) ur great mike , pls don´t ever change ... greets from germany
Lemken is made in germany so its quality no doubt about that, having said that the degelmann looks a lot heavyer
looks very top heavy mate
This till is HUGE haha!
Hey mike I like all of your videos
Postulating here, Sloughs are leftovers from the ice sheets tearing up the surface as they moved back and forth? Maybe more pressure in one spot made a depression which is deeper than the surrounding area?

U need a Salford....their good for high speed and dry or wet conditions and u can get them in a 51 foot spread.
Mike u look good in a red tractor.
Most people have jolly jumper's, when the time is right the Mitchell's can put their children on the Lemkin. Bouncy bouncy bounce.
