Not a biggie but as a mechanic I find it confusing when you refer to the "open centre diff" It should be open diff centre. To me open centre diff refers to an AWD car that has an open diff centre in the centre differential. Great content BTW.

Agreed, we used to refer to them as open wheel. Also diff ratio 4.11 is low 2.75 is high

I heard a rumor from an X-Ford employee... all of the Turbo series Barra's were deliberately detuned ... because they were going to have a shit load of problems trying to sell their V8's when the turbo sixes were leaving the 8's in the dust.

Yep, going the way I thought. On the dyno it ran out of fuel, then ran out of turbo. The chase begins. More turbo means more fuel, which means it can run a bigger turbo, which may require more fuel. Hang on the bottom end may not support that, billet crank forged pistons, conrods and camshaft upgrade. It never ends

In New Zealand even our base model XR6 got the LSD. I presume it is a plate style one as it specifies LSD oil. mines got 330km on it now and still nice and tight.

Would be nice to put a LSD or worm gear locker into the car I have... snow plus rear wheel drive... it gets stuck trying to get up the driveway. Would be nice if the car had traction control, but a Detroit locker costs less then some computer module.

Car people - I won't do much to this car because I like to keep it as much stock. Also Car people - So this is a V12 with a mercedes diff in a Fiat Abarth body.

I bet that car would be great with 3.08 gears. I do understand not wanting to change anything. And the 2.73 is great on the highway
