I don't think Kane has come to terms with the fact he's a 3rd line guy now. Not just because the oilers are stacked but that's literally his skill and production level. He still thinks he's first line material. Let's hope they sort it out

Whatever is going on need to be sorted out. I think he's being misused if I'm honest. Knoblock is behaving like the old coaching staff before him, mixing lines like crazy. Winning teams have some semblance of continuity. Right now there is none. For Edmonton to be successful in the playoffs , they're going to need more Kane and less McLeod and Feogle. Furthermore, Perry is clearly third line, he doesn't have the legs for a top 6 anymore.

I like Kane, he's still a net positive for the team when he's focused, hitting guys, forechecking and pitching in with some big goals but some games, I dunno where his head is at. Perry was clearly calling for the puck while he was open for a pass or cycle, multiple times over several games, Evander has shown lack of awareness to the correct play. This was like beer league level lack of Hockey sense with the two plays that Perry was pissed about. Hopefully the coaches have a talk with him as well and he corrects this part of his game before the playoffs

Personally, I love to see it. It will reveal what Kane is genuinely made of, and it shows that this team isn't playin. They are dead serious about making this year, their year. I have a feeling, as good as they have played since the coaching change, they are gonna hit another gear in the playoffs. Just a hunch, but I think this group is probably the hungriest of all the playoff teams. They've put in their time, paid their dues in prior playoffs, and I think they are the team to watch out for. Even Skinner drops the ball some, their offense can bail him out on occasion, even in the playoffs. This is a team I will be glued to every second of every game they play this post season. Perry was a gem of a pick up. He has the fire, the experience, the desire, and the will, to play a vital role in leading this crew in a different manner to McDavid or Draisaitl.

Evander Kane has a head like a rock. He’s played himself down or out of the lineup because of it, in 4 cities. If he knew how to play with his mates, he would get time with the big boys. I noticed with McD last year he made a bunch of dumb plays, the same as these, holding the puck. He’s so dumb he doesn’t realize when McD passes it to you, good chance he wants you to pass it back to him, and if you do so, it’ll show up in your own goal and assist stats. His agent would love that vs the 40ish points he has. The only way to get a shitty line mate to quit making shitty mistakes is to address it as soon as you come off the ice. I bet there’s previous incidents in games that led to this that could be found. Perry keeps earning my love this season. 😂

And look, I'm not going to pretend like I know what's said behind closed doors, but from what we do hear, Kane is liked in that locker room. As is Perry. And Perry is a guy who knows how to win, and wants to win. To me, this isn't two teammates having a spat. These are two guys who want to win, who care to win, showing that level of care. And if anyone has doubts, based on what they're seeing here, the I ask you to go look at the two goals Kane scored vs Colorado on Friday, and tell me Perry doesn't like him. Or that the team doesn't like him.

I can accept your opinion on Perry because I haven't seen anything blatant from him yet but Leon hasn't learnt a thing yet. He has cost us many games by taking chances at times when they should be in lock down mode. Other teams also know he is a hot head and retaliates just like the dumb penalty he took that game late in the 3rd. I gave him a pass for many years but at this stage, he should absolutely know better. He has no right point out bad plays unless he is okay to have players embarrass him on the bench on hockey night on Canada. Because I know I was yelling at him from my TV. We are going nowhere in the playoffs unless these dumb selfish mental things stop from EVERYONE.

I'm glad you showed that passing clip what an odd shift. I was wondering what he was so heated about and I'm with Perry. Kane was treating Perry like he's some scrub. Those were low percentage lazy plays by Kane acting like if Perry got the puck he won't generate anything with it. The mans a former 50 goal scorer you dolt. Kane looks really bad here.

I like Kane, but he's a bit delusional because he's been spoiled. However, I have seen him get better. He just needs to think pass first especially on such a talented team. He needs to learn he can't and doesn't need to do it all himself.

Well John. These guys are very intensely focused on being a team that goes all the way to the SCF... Corey been there 3x so he knows what he's talking about, whereas Evander has nary a clue how hard it is to arrive at the Great Big Dande only to come in 2nd place. So it's very likely and possible this is a wakeDFup call from Perry to quit being a prima donna at Kane and be a team player instead cos we all know no team won any SC being a solo "star".

As I said on X love and hate having cameras everywhere. Kane made a bad play that let them get caught out there too long when he could’ve made an easier smarter play. Good on Perry to let him know and good on Kane for not yelling back or anything. The Boys are competitive (and Perry too old to be caught out for a long shift😂) and want to win and make each other better. Tough look but I’d assume not much to really be worried aboot here

There´s nothing I love seeing more than Edmonton in turmoil and that is not what we have here. This is a guy who´s a competitor and is in the zone. He laid into his linemate because his linemate deserved to be laid into, and then it ended. There´s nothing more to it than that. Sadly, Edmonton will be just fine coming out of this...

Hopefully he pulls his head out of his ass, cause when he plays well really it’s fun to watch him make shit happen. My only quibble is that Perry could have waited the extra 15 seconds for the period to be over, then tear Kane apart in the dressing room during intermission. Otherwise I got no problem with it. This is a team (and a player wearing #90 who maybe picked that number knowing its significance in Edmonton) driven to win it all this year, and you don't win it all by being meek.

Kanes looking very similar to when he was in Winnipeg. He wouldnt have made a bad play like that if he was team first, but hes looking a little regressed here, doing things that's pissing off teammates, whether it's on or off the ice. Don't write him off, but almost don't give him the benefit of the doubt, that's kinda ridiculous with it happening to multiple teams.

Who really knows, unless we get a mic'd up clip of them I doubt we'll ever know what was said here.
