Hello sweet friends!
As an avid autumn enthusiast and pursuer of all things cozy, I filmed this cozy weekend vlog in hopes of capturing my love for November (romanticizing november because fall isn't over yet 🧡). This month is one of my favorites for so many reasons. I hope you enjoy the cozy weekending in which we go for brunch at the cutest little new england breakfast spot, visit the cutest antique store and then visit Orchard House (Louisa May Alcott's ancestral home) and another very iconic location from the 2019 Little Women film all while eventually ending the night with homemade soup and a crafting evening. I hope you've been enjoying November and taking care of yourself. Thank you for being here 🫶

A magical video as always. Have you heard of the Japanese art of fixing broken pottery called Kintsugi? They make the repair using a lacquer mixed with gold powder thereby celebrating the break rather than attempting to hide it. I think there is something so powerful and beautiful about that. If we could do that with ourselves wouldn't it be transformative. Blessings from Wales

Desi, you are not cracked and you are not broken, you are perfect, just the way you are, with a unique set of gifts given to you that only you can contribute to the world. If you do want any help at all with your KZread channel to speed things up, I'm a KZreadr myself who's looking for a side job in order to continue doing what I love to do. I went to Film school at BU, and can help with anything from help with filming (I live in your area), to editing, to helping with shorts-- helping you would help me too. But even if thats not something you're looking for, your videos are a gift, you are a gift, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

I just turned 70 and I feel like I am 20. You have learned a very important lesson in life. It’s not the outcome that really matters at all but that you thoroughly enjoyed the process. You will find greater joy in life. I am an artist and I speak to many artists and they are frustrated that they can’t sell their paintings but they rush through them rather than enjoying the process and it really shows in the painting. I am not saying a painting has to be perfect at all but you can tell if someone put their heart in it. I love your candle holder all the more for the cracks and that you took the time to fix them made it more special. I love how you make the ordinary moments into something special. That’s the way we should all live. 🥰

I loved this so much, I shared it with my two bffs, and one of my sisters, because I want them to take 15 minutes of their day feeling as I did watching this: slow, relaxed, calm, happy, inspired to seek joy wherever and whenever I can, to be true to my core self, and to take in the reminder that nothing we ever enjoy doing is a waste of time if it doesn't yield the results we want. As a copyeditor, I've worked to deadline for 20 years, always pursuing the end. Only now am I really starting to learn to enjoy process over end result, and doing puzzles has helped me with it. Anyway, your content is so delightful, honest, joyful, humorous, and wondrous, as well as immersive and endearing, that I choose you over all the others. I don't care how often you post. Your quality is worth any wait, and each post is a treat. You are doing everything just right. xo Thank you.

The love and care that you put into every video is obvious. I imagine that all the different shots you have takes a ton of time, as does editing I'm sure. You're doing good Desi and you are certainly enough.

I was waiting for this! I had the same thought as soon as November 1st came around. Everyone’s talking about winter and Christmas and putting out decorations- but… it’s still autumn! November is such a beautiful month in its own right and it’s usually forgotten and invisible because everyone is in such a rush to be somewhere that, if we’re being honest, hasn’t even remotely gotten here yet. I saw someone post “40 sleeps until Christmas!” And I was like… that’s an entire month plus!! I love November where I live- a lot of the trees are still turning and are even more are at their peak colors, while many others have lost their leaves. The weather is so nice, everything is calm and quiet and there’s rainy days to comfort you and so much to look at before winter comes and everything is frozen and quiet and sleepy… Can we just enjoy the days we’re living as they come and not rush to a moment that WILL eventually get here anyway?

I have really severe OCD, and have been going through a relapse after almost a year in recovery. I've been feeling so hopeless and sad until today, when I had a really healing session with my therapist. Afterwards, I wanted to bask in this healed and soft and happy feeling, and I thought what better way to do that than make a cup of tea and catch up on your videos. Your words about broken things still having value, and our struggles making us stronger and precious hit me right in my heart, and I couldn't keep from crying. Thank you for your videos, and the hope and joy you offer the world. You are so deeply appreciated.

Hi Desi, I'm not sure if someone has already told you but I wonder if you've ever heard of the Japanese art of kintsugi - basically it is the art of repairing broken pottery with gold or silver lacquer - it doesn't just fix the ceramics and make the breaks invisible, it draws attention to the broken places and highlights them and makes them beautiful, it shows that breaking and healing and repair are all a part of the history of something and not something we need to hide away. I write about this a lot as someone who also has chronic illness and it is a lovely way of thinking about life and bodies. Thank you for such a lovely video - also so nice to see Jared!

My favourite part of this video is the end and your words about the broken clay. I personally prefer channels when the content isn't uploaded all the time or on a predictable day. Too much content takes away the novelty. A new video uploaded when I'm not expecting feels like a sweet special treat. I'm much more present when I watch and soak up all the beauty and goodness of it. I guess it's not great for the KZread algorithm, but there is something special about these types of videos. They exude warmth and love.

It's so true that we often feel we are not enough, or that we don't measure up to or can't compete with others when, as you say, in actual fact we are enough and we are worthy. I have to say that in November particularly, I have these feelings, as the days darken earlier etc. It is a struggle. But we can come out of it by remembering that we are enough and that there is beauty in the simple things and that we just have to see it and appreciate it. Especially when it comes to ourselves. Your video points this out in a very aesthetic way!! Much appreciated too!

Desi, don't worry about keeping up with all the other creators. The fact that you aren't currently able to churn out content quickly, whether intentional or not, actually fits the atmosphere of your channel. I come to your videos for a chance to slow down and breathe....a break from this hurry scurry life we live. And the fact that your videos aren't available regularly makes them that much more special...a treat to be savored.
