Maybe when all of the fighting is done you could get a position within the diplomatic sector. You speak multiple languages fluently, remain calm under pressure, and have a strong charisma about you.

Yeah - I can see him being a military liaison or attaché in an embassy in one of the English speaking NATO countries. There's a lot of knowledge and expertise about building partner capacity that Starsky has gained over the years as being both on the receiving and coordinating end as an officer. There's a definite career in diplomacy ahead for Starsky, especially when you're able to both develop and communicate a narrative consistently - lots of skills from a Press Officer's position that are useful if you communicate them right, in addition to being a well known face to the professional Western Military Community.

Yeah I thought that was hilarious too. I still say big ups to the German government for giving both Gepard Flakpanzer fighting vehicles & PzH2000 armored mobile artillery systems and the training to operate them. The world needs more actions like this.

Dude just think about the representation roles in government you could pull off after this is over... You're set up for it and that takes care of the bills for as long as you want probably. You could well retire an old diplomat with a nice pension very easily here.

I'm basically like you. I grew up an Air force brat. Moving every year or so all over Canada. I lived in Ottawa, Moose Jaw, Victoria, Halifax, etc. Wherever there was a need for chopper pilots. I joined the army and served in the infantry. To the dismay of my entire flying family. After 6 years in the air cadets and flying lessons.. I get air sick.. What can I say. I HATE flying... I must be adopted or something. Cheer mate. Keep up the good work..

It makes us all sigh a sigh of relief here in London and feel duly reassured that you'll be able to survive this brutal (unprovoked) invasion because you have the relevant skills to kick the bastards out of our precious, stoic Ukraine and also live to tell the tale! This 'introduction video' was awesome, it really was. The part that moved me the most was when you said you were in Maidan! You must have seen so much there first-hand, including the sacrifice of the 'Heavenly 100'. Thank God you came out of there alive and in one piece: Maidan was not for the feeble-hearted. My admiration for Ukraine and Ukrainian people grew tenfold, watching the protests in Maidan. And my repugnance for the mobster/ 'Master of Russia' also grew tenfold in Maidan! The world (and I) were struck by the terrible events that year: the downing of the MH-17 (all those poor Dutch children); the brave, obstinate Ukraine demonstrators, 136 of whom were killed by the 'security' forces of the Putin- puppet, Yanukovich; the brazen annexation of Crimea; the Russian separatists making life hell for the good people in the Donbas area... Even before 2014 - but especially since 2014 - Putin and the thugs propping up his illegal regime have done their best to delete Ukraine's right to DECIDE HER OWN DESTINY, which is to keep away from the USSR nightmare. This sentiment is becoming very common. I suspect that Ukraine will need volunteers most, however - not tourists. Around time time of Hurricane Katrina, I was living about 200 miles away from New Orleans. After Katrina, I had to go to a wedding in an undamaged part of New Orleans. A group of us decided to pass through the Ninth Ward which was, famously, one of the most devastated neighborhoods. I felt an extreme pang of guilt that I had come there not to help but to look. At some point in my life, I would like to remedy that. Perhaps after this war, NGOs and whatever postwar government is in place will put out calls to organize foreign volunteers.

I would love to visit Kyiv after the war and also Odessa (city of my birth). Beautiful cities in a beautiful country with wonderful people.

When you said that Ukrainians are good at boxing I just remembered that for a while I used to think that all Ukrainians looked like the klitschko Brothers because I saw their boxing matches on TV with my dad a lot and my young self picked up on them being Ukrainian so I just assumed that all Ukrainians look like the klitschko Brothers. 😂 So keep kicking the bad guys asses and keep on winning! Ukraine deserves to be free 💙💛

I'd be there fighting now if I had prior combat experience or medical training. But I am handy with a shovel and anything with a bucket and I can lay pipe and pave roads till I run out of land to lay & pave.

Thanks for your transparency and for your advocacy for Ukraine. I am American… my wife (now American) was adopted from a German children’s home by an American soldier who married a Ukrainian woman (Maria Hernenko) in 1949. Maria had been given over by her family at the age of 14 (about 1941) to serve in German work/labor camps after Germany took over Ukraine. So all this to say we are praying for Ukraine and the terrible terror that has been inflicted on this beautiful people over and over again and now again by Russia. My mother-in-law Maria Hernenko Jones was one of the most kind and giving people I have known! She was never highly “educated” but eventually spoke at least 4 languages and never met a stranger she wasn’t kind to. ☺️. But…. You did NOT want to “test her” / make her angry … she was tough underneath - as she knew all the pain and terror life could bring. Keep moving forward Ukrainians! We love you! We respect you! 🥰🤛
