@@Xzyu2 - Gladly .. every human being is very different genetically, as a result of eons of our ancestors reproducing with other genetically flawed humans. Every human being also lives a very different lifestyles, leading to a multitude of extraneous variables which may cause inflammation, disease & premature death (eg stress, alcohol, lack of exercise, too much exercise, environmental toxins, fluoridated water, fruit/veg containing neurotoxins & carcinogenic substances from pesticides/fertilisers). Then there’s the fact that what many people regard as healthy food, is not actually healthy, nutrient dense food that is essential to support & repair each & every human being. The masses have been deceived..pasta, cereals such as weetabix, brown bread, milk/dairy, margarine, hydrogenated vegetable oils, rice are all toxic, whereas contrary to what you’ve been told, butter, ghee, eggs, high quality grass fed/pasture raised meat etc, etc are all essential for human health .. supermarket produce is nothing but irradiated, nutrient devoid, toxic crap .. worlds greatest deception .. with covid in 2nd place right behind .. & let’s not forget that even if you’re the most popular person in your area, the amount of people you know, only account for a tiny & insignificant portion of the entire human population & therefore it would be very silly to accept your own personal experience over scientific facts .. any further questions ?

I find it extremely difficult to comprehend how the majority have no clue about something as fundamentally important & relatively simple..I find it even more difficult to comprehend how governments appear to have no clue & continue to actively encourage the raping of our planet, polluting of our air & water supplies & the production & advertising of toxic food..I actually cringed just then, when I wrote food..IT AINT FOOD !! .. after years of contemplating this, I now have very little doubt that it’s very deliberate & part of an elaborate plan to make us ill, kill us prematurely & ultimately depopulate. I hope you enjoy learning about these things as much as myself..I’m sure you do..we humans & all other living organisms are truly wonderful & complex ecosystems..nothing short of miraculous in my opinion. 3 requests/suggestions: 1. Make classes available through Institute for Functional Medicine that are for consumers. I am a 57yr old Grandma who has no degrees, but I want to live my life in this way. Maybe a certificate or something so that I could use the information for my own benefit and to help my Functional Med Doctor, support me. Maybe get qualified to work with a functional medicine doctor to help educate the public and decision makers at the grassroots level? 2. I don’t see any of the information, you guys said you would make available in the links. I already get Mark’s Picks, but it sounded like some condensed information 1500 pages that got cut from Pegan Book? 3. can we keep the politics out of this effort and realize this is one area that unites us all!? Then I think these ideas and improved health span will come much quicker for everyone. So leave the political undertones and “fact twisting” out of the books, writings and platform choices.

It IS more expensive for cows to eat grass because you have to have a large pasture area to feed them. You can't enclose them in crowded areas with a limited areas of grass & expect them to gain weight. That's how farmers increase their profits - raising cows in crowded areas with corn.

My niece died of brain stem tumor at the age of 9 after fighting it for almost 2 years. I don't think it's something anyone can reverse in anyway by removing toxins and putting the good things in the body. When the tumor is already in the brain, not really possible. I am so sorry about the loss of your niece. What I have been looking at recently is the water supply. In looking at real estate for an anticipated move I came across the EWG Tap Water Database which contains analyses of municipal water supplies all across the country. I was absolutely appalled by the state of municipal tap water supplies. Most are contaminated with deadly toxins incl. arsenic, radium, uranium, hexavalent chromium (the substance Erin Brockavich went after in CA), and many others. Most of them are carcinogens. If you want to get cancer, all you have to do is drink your local drinking water. I checked municipalities in my vicinity, the closest has high arsenic, nitrate, etc. The capital city was listed as one of the top five cities in the country for hexavalent chromium. Some cities have 35 or more carcinogens. One hears talk today about Camp Lajeune, Not the exception but representative of the norm. They recommend reverse osmosis to remove these toxins, but the effort to install these filters has barely begun. Every family should check their drinking water on the EWG Database and know what they are drinking. I am lucky. I have my own well. But for the moment I have cancelled my plans to move until I can find a place with clean water. Good luck!

Equate your own lifestyle to that of the caveman. Why? Because that is how the human body grew up, how it developed, survived. Early humans most likely ate what they could pull out of the ground, pick out of the bush or climb a tree to get which would be nearby to their cave or other shelter where they lived. Throw in the occasional animal and that is really it. Our local area now is the supermarket, about the same thing actually. You still have to go get the food, prepare it and the n eat it. But, to be sure, the caveman didn’t harvest chocolate bars or sweets , they don’t grow naturally anywhere.

The idea of "caveman" is a lie. So everything that you think about the past is false. No other animal cooks their food. Nor should we. Humans are primates. Primates eat fruit. So should we. It is simple.

Why isn't Dr Hyman taking new patients at the Cleveland Clinic? I'm serious when I say, is it because of all the pod casts, traveling, and books? Because people need more Doctors that can go beyond the ignorance of Gastroenterology Doctors. Like I was told by a Metro Hospital Gastro Dr to take Metamucil and reiki. Now why would a Dr be a smart ass with me because I mentioned Functional medicine while speaking to him about my ibs. I think he should be smacked in the mouth for being disrespectful because it's frustrating not knowing and waking up everyday if I'm going to have flare up. So my life is upside down and dependant on my ass, to be blunt.

I read somewhere along the way that Soy products are not good for women? Is this legit or just outdated information?

Soy acts as a hormone. When I eat soy I cry, get over-emotional and am totally drained because of it. Took me years to figure out what was going on. Poor cows get this crap who are sent to market. I'm guessing it's in the milk and meat we then consume. Bad cycle of bad health for them and us.

Soy increases estrogen. Too high levels of estrogen causes hormonal issues, menstrual irregularities, and can cause breast cancer in women. Increased levels of estrogen causes feminine traits in boys/men and can lead to homosexuality. Hence, the term "soy boys". Pay attention to ingredients. They put soy in almost everything.

@@Mer179 First of all... You misquoted me by putting something I DIDN'T say in quotes ("causing homosexual"). What I ACTUALLY said was "Soy increases estrogen"... and "increased levels of estrogen causes feminine traits in boys/men and CAN LEAD TO HOMOSEXUALITY". That is science sir or ma'am or whatever you go by. If a male is going to change his sex to female, part of that process is taking estrogen. Soy DOES increase estrogen and it disrupts hormonal balance in BOTH sexes. Did you read chinookvalley's post before mine that said when he (or she) eats soy, he (or she) cries and gets over-emotional..."? Second of all... I don't care if the TRUTH offends you or anybody else. I care about educating women that soy can over estrogenizd them and can lead to breast cancer. I also care about educating grown men, and parents of little boys, that eating too much soy can get their hormones out of balance and cause them to become more feminine and less masculine. BTW, my brother, step son and sister in law are gay and I love them all very much.

Mark, you REALLY need to stop saying that these seven systems are "CONTROLLED" (even in part) by genes. It's a stupid and unfounded asseveration. Gene expression is VASTLY different from mere presence of a particular gene or a defective gene. That gene WILL ONLY EXPRESS IF YOU ARE EATING NON-FOODS. My long-term respect just evaporated. What a stupid thing for you to say.
