As I always say, babies are born not being able to do anything. Skills are earned. I just fixed my speedbag platform today. It's been out of commission for a few months. A bunch of the guys at the gym were asking me if the speedbag has any practical applications- and when I said "Among other things- developing punching power!" They all looked shocked and dubious. But it's absolutely true. Fantastic teaching as always.

Ramsey Dewey * * * * * Yeah Brother but some babies are diffirent ain't you heard ? I heard about one baby that was born naked, but already had passed the test, and had a drivers licence, born with a masters degree, could already speak 4 languages. Myself never had to be taught how to poop! I'm a natural, to this day full of poop! I know what you mean one of the first questions I asked my trainer, Maceo " what could one expect to accomplish on the Speed Bag? " First thing out of his mouth. MAKE POWER... I wonderd did he understand what I said, as Maceo spoke a very broken English ! Thanks for supporting me ! True Paul D'

There is nothing so effective as a short sharp left hook. It's the shot most romanticised in all boxing, I think. The bio-mechanics and coordination you're teaching keeps the brain's synapses firing and youthful. I think shadow boxing is a lot like Tai Chi, not only for physical wellbeing, but for its maintenance of brain health also. Thank you.

R Kitsune * * * * * Glad you enjoyed it! Thank You for Watching and for the Amazing Compliment* Yes your back issue is priority #1..... I am not a doctor, and I have no idea what kind of BAD BACK you have. My life experience and things I have seen has been like this! Everyone I know both family, and friends who went through back surgery, now regret having the surgery.. Over time their back pain returned, and with my sister it is much worst than before the surgery. Said that to you, for what ever it's worth! Now myself, hurt my back seriously twice in my life or at least it felt serious... First time when I pushed in the clutch shifting from 2nd gear to 3rd gear on a three speed on the column...Had to crawl to the bathroom to do business for almost a month ! Another time, I was on the job and lifted a 55 gallon drum full of wood scraps. Bent over and then stood up, it felt like someone stabbed me with a sword in the lower back.. Had to crawl to the bathroom for 3 or 4 weeks.. Later on in my late 20's had been digging ditches for a plumbing company, for 2 years wearing a weight lifting belt for support...One day at a sporting goods store, I noticed a ROMAN CHAIR, said to myself this could help me! I used it to strengthen the muscles around my column, and also my abs which also support the column ...I have had that chair around 40 years now. No back pain as long as keep with regular muscle maintenance. If I feel a little something, it's just a reminder that the muscles are in need of a tune up, as they have begun to soften again... Used it last night ! True ! I hope you get well, I just said a prayer for you as I typed this ! Sincerely Paul D'Antuono The Punch Professor

I've had back surgery three years ago. (ALIF) procedure and my doctor gave the okay to box but not competitevely. The bobbing and weaving just worries me. Is this why Tyson was able to knock out people so efficiently in his heyday? Even now as he’s back into training I notice how is body is constantly being torqued as he punches. Every single punch as well and his upper body and footwork seem to be in sync. Noticed the same movements with Ali and Sugar Ray Leonard .

Iv been using that exercise since 14 years old. I have a old school boxing book with all the late great trainers talking about " secret methods " to which you can build power. Wood Chopping been number 1. Good vid 👍

Old School * * * * * Strange stuff~ Me and You ~ Yesterday you mention with great respect Floritino Fernandez whom I spent many many days in the gym with when he worked (hanged out)at the City Gym! Today you mention Joe Louis whom I studied from old fight films... Thats what drove me to want to punch hard. I wanted to punch like JOE LOUIS ! I studied Joe Louis only second to Alexis Arquello whom I believe was very similar to Louis is his Punch Bio Mechanics ... I stole everything I could from both Great Champions... I studied Alexis more due to the fact that we spent a lot of days training side by side, and had great a relationship tied to my interest in Punching, as hard as possible ... Yet more than that = I wonder if you are psychic ... Yesterday I was working out with my wife here at The Jungle Camp Gym (my home boxing gym) has a name, and I had her doing what you questioned me about in your latest post* * * * * 5 Stars for that ! I been doing that, and having fighter do it for years, I truly don't know where I got it... I thought I invented it ? I utilize BALLS almost as much as punching bags... I have so many balls around here that a good friend told me, my head stone upon death should read " He didn't have much Brains, but he sure had a lot of Balls" ... Chopped Wood here at the Jungle Camp a couple of days ago, after a big storm dropped a couple of old trees.... Could of used a chain saw but turned it into a workout . Did try to make a video out of it, but later watching the video, it was dark, My wife (Camera Woman) did a poor job, and I didn't looks so good either! Still have the film God is my witness ! Your post today made my day! True Paul D'Antuono

Both softly spoken individuals with a killer instinct you don't see nowadays. That knee ball squeeze is a super secret exercise not spoken about today. I'm happy that you knew what I meant. Earnie Shavers told me " You gotta chop that Woooood " if you want to develop the punch power to it's max. GOBRAGH2 * * * * * FIVE STARS for the interesting comment * I utilize everything, including open handed strikes, and slaps. Turning my hand according to the target, and the deliverance of the Power out my Knuckles to the target. Sometimes I turn the knuckles under, most the time over ! Yaseen Ameen * * * * * I hit mainly with my first 2 knuckles.... Don't matter glove or no glove... I hit horizontal and verticle and every degree of angle in between...
