*I've been meaning to rescue a lobster since he was a boy, when I saw them at the seafood restaurant. And now, it was Leon's popularity that prompted me to do it. I have now bought a lobster and put it in my tank, hopefully my lobster will be healthy.*

I love it! Can you imagine what the seafood counter employee would have thought if they'd known that this random lobster in the tank was going to become the next hit youtube sensation?

What an enterprising guy Leon is. He’ll need that revenue to get a bigger tank if he keeps growing. 🙂

In fact, Leon is very happy in this tank, as evidenced by his willingness to molt right here. I think we don't need a big tank because most of the day lobsters just live in burrows.

I felt conflicted when i first got pet shrimps. However, they aren't raised to be our food. So I still eat shrimp. When i can afford it, i will choose my lobster from sustainable harvests. Haven't eaten lobster in decades though due to price.

I'd like to see a bigger tank and maybe some new plants and coral. Maybe even make it into something that resembles the ocean floor just so he has the option of roaming if he wants.

@@Th3os7 I agree, but only a single square meter for "roaming" would need nearly 1/2 ton of water!!! Most living homes are not built for that high weight on one square meter. You would need a pool in the garden, basement or something similar, I guess.

Leon's coloration has really intensified since his molt and he is so clean now! I'm looking forward to the arrival of my lovely portrait mug, so my family will, once again, go WTF!

After molting, Leon looks very cool. Hopefully the Tony lobster that I just rescued will soon molt to remove its scars.

*It was because of Leon's videos that made me feel like I needed to do something about a lobster. And I decided to buy a tank and the necessary equipment to rescue a lobster. Today is the 5th day that my lobster has been released into the tank, I call him Tony.*

so why we are interesting and emotionally attached to this particular Lobster? May be it has to do with his backstory, a sad Lobster tied in a grocery store, being saved by an angel

I just bought a black Leon the Lobster t-shirt. I’m a HUGE fan of Leon and appreciate your videos. I used to be a huge fan of eating lobster, but I haven’t had lobster after watching the first video & will not ever again. I had tears watching Leon molt as it appears to be so painful & exhausting. I live in New England where eating lobster is a big part of the culture, especially closer to the coast. I haven’t been able to eat it since I was a kid and saw my aunts boiling some:( Sad to see them in the grocery store, but happy that Leon has inspired so many to see them differently.

Sipping on a warm coffee out of a Leon mug with a Leon t-shirt on all while watching new released Leon videos. Yup. Survive and thrive king Leon!

So happy to see the merch! I recently rescued a scorpion. Poor thing was in a tiny deli cup at the reptile show. The cup was so small that the scorpion’s tale was flat against the substrate and the little guy couldn’t move. I named my scorpion Leon. 😁

Just purchased a coffee mug!! I'm happy to support your platform! I ran across Leon's story by accident and have become completely obsessed with seeing what happens next! I'm a scuba diver and have total respect for all creatures living in our oceans. Weirdest thing I've seen personally while diving in Honduras...A diver off our boat spotted a blue lobster running and wanted to film it and while she followed the lobster a large moray eel was also chasing the lobster (to eat)...We think the eel took the diver as competition and came at her face and latched on, writhing back and forth...it was quite an ordeal.. He let go and swam off and the lady who was attacked survived, lacerations on her cheeks and the pressure made the mask cut into her face a bit but otherwise she took it like a trooper and was back in the water the next day.. Lesson: When you follow something that looks like it's in a hurry, see why! Lol. Anyway, love your stories and love Leon❤️

I must admit watching these Leon vids went from i could eat lobster tonight to i wanna go save a fellow Leon of my own from a store :D:D You got us hooked brother. Now to buy merch :)

Like you, the story of Leon inspired me to decide to rescue a lobster and bring it home. Currently, the lobster that I rescued is still alive after 5 days of being released into the new tank.

I'm happy to see Leon's appetite is up. Its likely to be a sign that his recovery from the grocery store is on the right track.

That and after molting lobsters and other crustaceans get super hungry. Most will eat their shed shell to recover but Leon is in an aquarium so he couldn't keep the shed shell in the tank for long so he will be extra hungry for everything else he does get.

When regaining composure, lobsters will eat a lot. So did the lobster that I just rescued, after 5 days of being released into the tank, it felt calm and it also ate a lot.

After watching the molting video, I looked up the life expectancy of lobsters. You're gonna need a bigger tank! Very happy to buy the coffee cups. What an amazing journey!

I wish they said, "Survive... Thrive... Molt!". My cricket just molted out in the open for the first time today (usually he does it in his little cave) and I'm SO glad that I watched Leon's molting video a couple of weeks ago so that I knew what to expect or I would have been SO worried about him! But thankfully my little boy Nib did great and he's almost a full grown adult now!

Is it a Jerusalem Chicket? I am thinking about getting my Grandson a bug for his 9th birthday. I am thinking Madagascar hissing cockroach. But the Jerusalem cricket did seem petty awesome. But I am not sure he could care for it. I have been a tarantula keeper for over 20+ years. I am just wondering how hard the crickets are to care for and if they smell like normal crickets?

@@Brittney356 no, Nib is just a regular yard cricket (I don't even know the species name! He's my first cricket). I haven't noticed any smell with him. I know there can be a smell when you have dozens in the same enclosure, but his enclosure doesn't have any smell. He came into my art studio in October, just as it was turning cold and he was just a baby. Crickets die in the winter because of the cold, so I knew that he wouldn't last. I decided to over-winter him and I got him a 5 gallon tank to live in. I filled it with the paper bedding that I use in my ratty cages and I added rocks from outside, as well as grasses to simulate his natural environment and I added toilet paper rolls, toilet paper mountains and other things for enrichment. He was so tiny that I give him water by soaking cotton balls, as I was worried he would drown in a water bowl or even a drink lid (he was tiny!). It's been such a pleasure watching him grow. His favorite spot is on his little toilet paper mountain, lol. What surprised me the most about him is how intelligent he is. He comes to my hand now and if I put my finger up to the glass of his house, he'll come over to me. I can highly recommend adopting a cricket - I just love this little guy to bits. Nib is my first cricket-kid (I've been a caretaker to our many wild cellar spiders for years) and he has been very easy to care for, so as long as an adult oversees feeding and daily watering, a cricket would probably be fine for a compassionate, conscientious child!

@@AmberwingArt That's sweet. Maybe you can try getting Nib some Cricket water. Sponges and cotton balls can hold onto bacteria that can be bad for him. The ones we have always used. You can search for them online or at any pet store. Those are my favorites. But there are others on the market. Just put a spoon full in a bottle cap or lid and he can drink without getting into trouble. You are right I was talking about having a lot of Crickets. I have had as many as 400 tarantulas at once. Cricket food Fluker's High Calcium Cricket Diet Cricket water. Fluker's Cricket Quencher Calcium Fortified

I want people to ask me 'who the heck is Leon?' so I can have the pleasure of telling them about Leon and where to find him!

Am I the only person following Leon that won't ever eat a Lobster again? I used to buy a cooked lobster, and re-cook it with a garlic and butter sauce. Now I have learned about them, I just can't do it. There was a Simpson cartoon episode where Homer did the same thing, befriending a lobster called Pinchy...when 'the time' came he ate it but cried whilst eating it. No more lobster for his woman. Just please don't rescue any Shrimp!
