Also, Leofoto makes a unique magic arm (AM-3) that fits the tripod's 3/8-16 accessory mount perfectly. It has anti-rotation flanges that mate with the tripod's female equivalents, and once attached, the magic arm will not unscrew itself. The arm is thicker than those with 1/4-20 mounts, and works great with Leofoto's tablet mount (PC-90 II). It'll easily hold an iPad Pro for use in tethered macro sessions, but also includes 1/4-20 mounts, if you only need to mount a smartphone, etc. Being able to attach an iPad Pro, or even a heavier Atomos monitor, without fear of it unscrewing itself, sets the higher end Leofoto tripods (LM, LN, LQ & LO series) apart from much of their competition.

Nice review! Does the tripod platform (where the head mounts) include any set screws? They're really useful if the attached head tends to unscrew itself, but not every tripod includes them.

at 7:56, NO, you don't have to invert the column, some of the systematic columns (for the LN/LM 404C for eg) have a double top, so you can add the head straight to the lower end of the column.

So true Great to have both options. The method that gives you the greatest speed in switching is the best especially if your shots are what pay your bills. Thanks so much for commenting!
