Lemondrop and West Pest Synth Combined: Complex Sounds - Simple Interface
Hi!
In this video I try to show you how to make the best of Lemondrop from @1010music and West Pest from @Cre8audio. I send the audio and midi from West Pest through Lemondrop, and it gets very complex sonically without sacrificing simplicity for the musician. I think the combination shines!
IMHO, they make possible a complex sonic world that would have appealed to Don Buchla, the inventor of the so-called West Coast synthesis.
I really enjoyed making this video and my hope is that you will enjoy it, too!

This is an amazing idea - thanks very much both for suggesting it, but then also offering such a clear and detailed tutorial of how to put it together. My West Pest should be arriving in a few days, so very much looking forward to popping it into my Rack and then putting it through the delicious Lemondrop... can't wait!

This is fantastic! I *love* this video! I had decided to take a pass on the West Pest because it seemed pretty limited, and on the Lemondrop because I like patch cables better than MIDI. But this is way cooler than the sum of it's parts. Throw in an East Beast, and you can even build a complex oscillator and run it through the granular engine for way cheaper than you could do it in modular, when you consider all the modulation and effects that are included. What a cool idea!

Really enjoyed your video and it’s obvious you enjoyed making it, your enthusiasm shines. Liked and Subscribed. The sound you have going on at the end is massive - imagine it being played inside a big space or outdoors with peeps experiencing however they wanted too - dancing, lying down, sitting crossed legged swaying back and forth, side to side in a medatitive trance. LemonDrop, works Good with MicroFreaks ability, to send CC messages from its knobs. You can use this to adjust settings in the Lemondrop, from the MF knobs. Also can use aftertouch.

I’ve always kinda fancied the Lemondrop, and you are not helping. I think it could sit very nicely in my modular set-up. Literally, because it’s not very big…
