I cant really find detailed rigorous feature comparison of Distro models above the X3. Some are not even listed on your main web site. What does the S, D, E and X refer to? [ex: S910, D810, E7500i, X4, X6, D5] Are the X6 and D5 old or new model numbers or sold in different countries? Or, is the X4, E7500i and S910 the old models (discontinued)? Is the display and camera brightness and contrast the same on all the models, or are some of them much better outdoors? How do I test one or more of the models out prior to purchase? Can I deal with Leica directly, or do I need to involve a third-party sales company? What is the best forum for asking detailed product feature questions? Is the DST 360-X adapter just a precision tripod positioning attachment, or is it an active product communicating with Distro LDMs? Does it boost the yaw and pitch precision, or just make measurements smoother?

Our current range consists of 2 product lines - D-line (D1, D110, D2, D5) and X-line (X3, X6). We also offer special version of D110 (E7100i) for the North American market. Thank you for the reply. This is very useful information. So far, I have been frustrated, unable to get a response over the last two weeks from the sales site that you referenced [Leica Geosystems Solutions Center; Burlingame California, 94010 T: 650-348-7247]. Suggestions? Summary: 1) The X4, E7500i, D810, S910 are all discontinued. The D5 and X6 replace them (even though the D5 used to be a model number, it is now an updated D5, like the D2). This is largely good, as I encourage model cleanup over time. 2) The DST lineup has encoders and processors, but the FTA lineup is just a positioner? 3) To get a quality outdoor usable LDM that can simply measure distance with a settable offset for use in light rain for hours (IP65 or higher), one needs to purchase the top-of-the-line X6 or D5 (I don’t think the D2 or X3 supports offset or have a zoomed range finder camera, which seems essential beyond 60 ft or less. This is my primary need, and it is very expensive now. I encourage the release of an entry level X2 or D3 product (or update the D2). I need an economical rugged direct measure product with offset feature, that novices can use all day in the weather (

Dear customer, thank you for your feedback on our product portfolio. Customer feedback is very important to us. The FTA adapters are passive positioners for better target acquisition over long distances.

I'm very disappointed with the Leica Disto Plan, I bought the disto X4 for the smart room function and it works with only 20 points, most of the houses I design give more than 20 points. pay so much and have a product with limited application.😞😤

With Measure Plan, you have the flexibility to create floor plans with an unlimited number of points, catering to the demands of your specific projects. @@LeicaGeosystemsCH I have a Leica s910 with FTA 360, my intention in buying the X4 was the speed to create floor plans. The S910 is slow compared to the X4 and doesn't need to keep moving the tripod.

@@geissonwillamsdasilva DISTO X4 and S910 offer the same app functionality, i.e. all P2P measurement functions are also available on the X4. Please note, in order to use P2P measurements with the DISTO X4, it is necessary to also purchase the DST 360 adapter, which enables these measurements thanks to the built-in sensors and encoders. On top of that, with DISTO X4 it is also possible to use Smart Room function. It is also possible to use the Smart Room function with the DISTO X4.
