I told myself a long time ago that I would never spend more than $250 on a Lego set (for a variety of reasons). That promise stood for many years. I am however, a lifelong castle fan. Then Lego revealed this beauty and broke me, in about thirty seconds. I stayed up and ordered it the moment it released, and no regrets whatsoever.

I remember going into the LEGO store with my boyfriend and loving both Hogwarts and the Disney Castle sets but thinking both were waaaaaay too expensive to ever buy… I had a new job so was making plenty of money and also covid hit which added stress to new job and we started working from home. LEGO became a great stress reliever and before I knew it I had the Disney train and was already planning to buy the castle. Come my birthday my boyfriend said he’d pay for half of Hogwarts and I agreed with no hesitation lol. Some set’s definitely are too expensive but others like this castle for you are so special you know you’ll love it and it will be worth it for you. My nostalgia set was the pirates of barracuda bay since I remember my brother owning the ship it was based on. I love owning a ship wrecked version of that same ship all these years later

The castle poop-chute is a nice historic touch. They kept it away from the front of the castle as well!

Based on this and other videos about this set, it's one I'd love as an adult today and one I would've loved as a child forty years ago. I don't think there's much higher praise for a Lego set!

Too Many Minifigures? No you can never have too many Minifigures 😂 This was a great build especially the thatched roof and market.

Respectfully disagree. Minifgures just jack up the price and make display sets like this look terrible when you put the figures on/in it. For kids, sure, they're great, but with huge 18+ sets, I wish Lego wouldn't include them.

Growing up in Germany I remember running around actual castles as a kid, this set gives me a lot of nostalgia for those days. What an amazing set!

I’ve never been a Lego castles fan myself (I’ve got literally no sets from any of the themes for it), but I’m starting to make my own ruined castle tower, taking inspiration from some old castles around England!

I was (and still very much am) a huge LEGO castle fan, but being born in the 90s I never got to experience the classic castle sets. To say this is my favorite LEGO set of all time is a huge understatement. I appreciate the review, even if you are not a big fan of LEGO castle yourself.

Wasn't a Castle fan either, but this set is damn neat and looks fun to build!

Out of all lego youtubers I watch you are probably only one who shown everything this set has to offer and made me excited about it to the point I consider buying it. Every one else seems to concentrate on "pointless and expensive" without even showing half of that stuff :) But yeah, it will be nice if you were bit faster with the video releases ;)

Pointless and expensive? The fuck. This is the best set of 2022. Utterly brilliant building experience. Thiago his review is pretty bad as well tbh, and some of his opinions are nonsensical. Too many lion knights? Bro, they should've added ten more for the size of the castle.

I think this is it. It might shock you, but I never had a LEGO set growing up. During early nineties when it was prime time for me to play with LEGO sets it was very difficult and expensive to get a hold of them in post war Croatia so I kinda skipped that whole phase. I'm now 35 and I believe I can afford one set to rule them all :P I was looking into many themes and it all looks great but it feels like a too big of a commitment to go for Star Wars or City or Harry Potter, it's just never complete :) This set, however, is perfect, it feels perfectly standalone, doesn't call for more and it has so much going on. I think this is the one... :)

Series idea for Tiago: (day 8) Tiago should make a subreddit where people can post Mocs that he reviews and gives feedback monthly/weekly. It’s going to be good for both the fans who are looking to improve and will probably take Tiago less time to make.

This set is really overwhelming and full of plot twist. Very cool design

I finished building mine last week, this set is amazing! It is now one of my favorites of all time, alongside the Titanic and the Guardians of The Galaxy Ship.

I watched reviews after I had bought and built it, to avoid spoilers. Despite knowing all those tiny details, I keep watching all reviews by my favourite Legotubers. That's how I love this set. It took me a month to build (a bag per day), after each section I looked at it for a few minutes to admire every single part - details, building techniques (I love all those angles they managed to build, almost without any gaps, the backdoor stairs - a masterpiece of snot building). I think this is one of the greatest sets not only this year but in general!

some months, yes, but good to hear that this set is worth the money:), because I have already build it.

I would have mentioned that, while many minifigures are included, the castle is not in minifigure scale. Yes, you can squeeze figures into most places, but you have towers that are only a few scale feet wide, rooms that aren't much bigger than closets, etc. A kid probably wouldn't notice or mind while playing with it, but for adult collectors who want a display piece, it's important to know before buying. Otherwise, it's a fun set to build and creates a beautiful finished result.

Geez this lego set is amazing! All the integrated details but they'll all so humorous and I love it. Lego has done an amazing job with this set. I'll be ordering this soon.

i really like this set. it really towers above the rest. there werent many red flags which is good, and the a-sword-ment of minifigures were really good. i give this a 9/10

and for those of us who can..wow, he really just persuaded me into getting this one a month or more sooner shit's straight fire, not like the galaxy explorer which is sort of mid, would've honestly preferred a pirate revival, since we sort of get space ships already with star wars

I have a bunch of the Original lego castle minifigs! Saved em from when I was a kid, absolutely gonna pick up this set and combine the armies

I bought this recently, and I must say it is one of the greatest lego experiences I've had. All the details and hidden away nooks and crannies makes for a very interesting road to completion. I am sixteen by the way, but I totally think an adult would enjoy building the set.

This channel helps me decide which sets to buy. This one is next on the list!

Lego castles was one of my absolute favourites growing up. I am a huge fan of castles and now being a mum of a lego loving kid I do believe I need this set in my life!

That is honestly one of the most impressive sets I've seen in a while. I love all the secrets too!

Thank you very much for this magnificent video of the new Lego castle 👏👏. We really like castles built with small pieces. So we have decided to do it with Lego since we are a fan of Lego Star Wars and we see similarity with the gray color of most of the pieces. So this magnificent castle set seems wonderful to give us more ideas on how to make our castle 😉.

I’m a massive Bionicle fan but castle rlly deserved to win as much as I hate to admit it. It’s just far more iconic as well as being a greater representation of lego as a whole. not so sure abt space tho

This set is fantastic ! I’ve always been a LEGO Castle fan, so I had to get it. I’ve never bought a set so expensive, but what a joy it was putting it together. It was worth it. I do wish they would’ve had a small gatehouse/barbican instead of the ramp at the front of the castle though.

The horses are the horses that were in every LOTR sets but since then we never got to have them in a set (as I know)

This set is amazing; the Minifigures, the water wheel could be a windmill set that stands on its own. Tons of incredible detail. Also like how they didn't didn't use the OG castle wall pieces, they are nostalgic but cheap feeling. The only thing I find wrong with it is the tree on the right should be brown not black, but that is just my preference.

I'm a castle fan at heart, it is together with the Adventurers, Pirates and Western theme my favourite LEGO theme. So of course I am super happy about this set and it truly is a masterpiece. I could write an essay about all the things I love about it (in fact I did at Zusammengebaut) but what puts this one over the top for me especially is how true it is to the classic asthetic. The set sits now together with all my castles from the 90s and 80s, yet it fits perfectly with them. I often find it hard to enjoy Sets that I feel are overdetailed and start to look busy. Fortunately for me, the Designers did exactly what I wanted this set to be and advanced that wonderful 90s vibe in clever ways. It feels both classic and modern. Honestly LEGO doesnt release many Sets that I personally care about (Not a Star wars or marvel guy) however every once in a while tjey come around with a set like this. I just see it and think "yes, exactly like that". Whenever that's the case, I feel they absolutely nail it

I never had any of the castles growing up but enjoyed many of the smaller medieval sets. I have a castle now😜. Wish I knew about it when they were giving the original premium away.

What a great set! I love the medieval era, i hope they do more Castle sets, or add other sets to accompany this one.

It is great value for the price I think.

I was wondering when you would do this. I bought it... and I love it. I also particularly enjoyed the balcony/wall transition. I will admit hen I saw they were releasing it I knew I would buy it even though it was £350... it was designed to hit my particular nostalgia buttons. In the late/80s early 90s I would spend hours pouring over the lego catalogue, and the castles of that era, which this set so heavily references, were exactly the models I would yearn after but I couldn't afford. The classic space model just didn't hit it for me (though maybe if they had gone M-Tron era I would have got it too).

Always wanted a Lego castle as a kid but my parents could never afford one. Got this the first week it was released and it is, hands down, one of my favourite sets of all time!!

This is the best set of 2022

Wish I had money, getting this castle, plus the Medieval Castle that comes with 2 Black Falcons, the Blacksmith shop with 2 more and the Castle in the Forest you would have a pretty strong revival of the 3 original Castle Factions (Lions Falcons Forestmen). Being broke sucks.

Just ordered mine after being on the fence. Missed out on the forest hideout but did get the blacktron cruiser.

Man, if they redid the Lego Adventurers sets from back in the day I would just perish from nostalgia. I love the look and feel of the castle!

I said it once, and I'll say it once more: your reviews are the best ones, hands down. Also, ever thought about doing a end-of-the-year wrap-up of the best products LEGO has released? Could als be cool to split them into best technique (although by the sound of it, this is already secured from the sliding bridge in this castle!), best playability, etc. Just a thought. Thanks!

i bought this set marking my first ever lego castle, and now im looking for the original yellow castle, just to see how much it has evolved

I am in love with this set, and I know it will be mine some day, but the price really makes it hard for me right now
