They used that quinjet because probably it is the most iconic design, and also it's simpler to render at a smaller scale. The Age of Ultron quinjet is too sleek to be even recognizable at that scale and blockiness :)

Yeah, i feel like that this set is more like an MCU playset centered on the Avengers Tower rather than an actual reproduction of the scenes revolved around it in the movies. (An optional Stark sign would have been awesome in that regard) @@TiagoCatarino

​@FrancescoDedo stark sign would have been pointless without a ton of extra pieces. The stark tower is more white, grey and brown, whereas this has a ton of blue. Also the window areas look very different. So you would need at least like 1000 pieces to turn it into the stark tower, if not like 2000.

Stan Lee minifig would have been a fun inclusion. Unless someday they do a Stan Lee gift with purchase of his office, with him at his drawing / writing desk 🤔

Honestly, the Chitauri were absolutely needed in that set. Imagine all those 20+ Superheroes in a set with a big fish, Ultron, Loki, and his bodyguard as villains? I think 4 Chitauri is a good number for a set like this, it feels like Loki's army is arriving

I think The Wasp is included because in the original Avengers comics she was one of the founding members along with Iron Man, Thor, Ant-Man, and The Hulk

I love when designers do this kind of stuff, jam pack the set with references. And speaking of references, at 13:57 a little silver infinity gauntlet hidden on the box.

I love how this set can either be a clean display piece or by adding all the figures around it gives it a more 'diorama' type feel and adds some good little story elements making the set look a bit more alive.

Sam is at the party in Age of Ultron at the tower, and Wanda is there for Vision’s “birth”

I'm so glad LEGO does sets like these so well. I feel like they have stepped up the last couple of years and started making these really colossal sets, and it's really awesome. And although some of their minifigure choices are strange, I think they are usually the right choice. For example, I am glad they include 4 chitauri because from my knowledge, we have never gotten chitauri figures, and it would be hard to feel like an army of aliens is attacking the tower, with only one or two minifigures included. Overall seems like a really great set!

It’s nice how you can put a minifigure inside the quintet as it is scaled down to fit the build but it’s good got playability and it also matches the style and scale of the build

Good call for Hawkeye and Selvig not having alt-faces with the blue eyes in a trance. That was a big oversight from the designers.

LOVE all of it. Love your review, but isn't it bizarre they didn't include the Iron Legion figures and their launch/repair bay that enters/exits from the big 'A'.

That quinjet is the one they used in the 2012 avengers to bring Cap and Banner to the helicarrier and to fly to Germany

I think that they included Ant-Man and the Wasp because in the comics they were the founders of the Avengers toghether with Hul, Iron Man and Thor, so maybe, they included them as a tribute

This is AMAZING I feel like all of the references kind of justify having such a big set 🤔 But yeah, this is definitely for like HARDCORE Marvel lovers! Oh, and I really like the inclusion of Kevin Feige!

Finally a proper lego A-Tower. Now it'd be nice to have a full size helicarrier or one of the 3 helicarriers from project Insight.

Can't wait to have this beast of a set in my office one day.

Yooo that vita rush soda dispenser is actually a reference to that coca cola commercial with Ant Man and Hulk! It has a pym logo on it and the slogan is 'smash your thirst'

It is a beautiful looking set, no doubt. Just curious - can the "Hulk windows" be fixed, so that the windows/building look more uniform?

The "broken windows" contains the 2 window elements that can just be used to build the windows normally

The quintet comes from the first avengers movie its what cap Natasha and Clint used to get to Manhattan. It also has other less prominent appearance throughout the movies

That's a pretty good point. What I liked about the Daily Bugle set is that it represented various eras and incarnations of the character. Kinda wish they had done more of that here instead of making it MCU focused, but they already had a large cast of characters to deal with.

12:35 in the designer reveal video, the curved roof is removed as well. I feel like the is is an awesome set but some rooms could be based on actual scenes rather than moments in the saga.

Amazing exterior, but the interior is a bit underwhelming for my liking. Great review btw 👍

The only one that makes sense out of all three of those is Wong because he was actually there like he existed at the time. Kevin Fiege’s ego probably wanted a Lego mini figure and then I don’t have anything for the wasp.

In my opinion its one of the best lego sets ever 😊😊😊

I seem to notice the window sticking out near the bottom. Is that something you can fix like the daily bugle window or do you have to ignore it? (by the way, the poles on the daily bugle go on the top floor in case you weren't aware.)

It’s probably the Quinn jet from the first movie that Hawkeye crashes. It’s got those two fins in the back the foldable wings like a Quinn jet for shield.

Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver did visit Avengers Tower at the end of Age of Ultron so I'm a little bummed that Quicksilver wasn't included (he was picking out running shoes!).

Plus missing Maria Hill and a regular Bruce Banner fig is a head scratcher to me. Yeah and Coulson like you said.

You can get Banner from the ok hulkbuster set. But no Hill, no Coulson (and some more).. yeah...

on hawkeye's missing face: mind controlled hawkeye never was in new york. just working for loki underground or attacking the helicarrier. but it's still a shame the fig is missing the alternate face.

I really like the Translucent Vision Blue Green Minifigure color. I give them big points for that. I think your suggestions to include Agent Coulson and an Iron Legion are reasonable. This set loses a lot of points for putting a random kevin feige fanboy minifig in the set, he isn’t even canon.

Another great review, the build and the little Easter eggs are really appealing, however I’m so disappointed with that minifigure choice, especially when you think of how great the daily bugles minifigure choice was

I love it, it looks amazing and I ultimately want to build a Marvel style Lego City...but $750 AUD. I hesitated with the Bugle so much this...this may be too expensive for me.

The who is iron man newspaper actually has a bit of real world history. Someone took a picture of rdj in the suit on the set of iron man 1 during filming and leaked it online, and marvel would later use the image in the movie as the cover of that newspaper

14:13 i don't yet have this set, but it seems like it will be much more enjoyable to build than the daily bugle. Those glass pieces(from the daily bugle) are horrible to have to stack and line up, i hated building that one. Even though the glass panes will probably hurt your fingertips by the end, this build seems like it'll be better than the daily bugle

I wanna get this but then I don’t. Not because of the price but because of the minifigs. There’s no Maria Hill, Agent Coulson, and I think a Stan Lee mini fig should’ve been included as well, but I guess I could get those minifigs separately. And the Wasp and Ant-man were unnecessary to include here. And I think it would’ve been cool if you can swap out the A for STARK. But it’s not a bad set. Just missing a few things, yet again that would drive up the price.

My biggest disappointment with this set is the interior of the tower. Compared to the bugle it’s just so cramped and I get why, but it’s still disappointing.

That quinjet is more like the one in the first Avenger movie, fitting with the theme of the Chitauri battle character mini-figs, and probably easier to model than the sleaker designed quinjet. Which all that does not fit at all with the tower design in this set.

I love this set, and think it came out really well. But I don’t think I can justify it given how big and expensive it is. My partner was already annoyed at me for how big the bugle came out… hopefully this will be around in a few years so maybe my financial or space situation changes and I can convince her!
