LEGO City Update - Boardwalk, Alley & Parisian Restaurant 10243 🏖🏹

Ойын-сауық

The first thing I do this episode is add the last platform of our main train station behind the existing part row of modulars along the boardwalk because it'll be difficult to reach later. I also create a direct link between the station and boardwalk by utilising the alley in the Detective's Office set. Very cunning. Then the final modular is in, and it's the Parisian Restaurant (set 10243). Finally I add the pavements, life saver rings, an ice cream vendor and seven assorted street performers to complete the area!

It would be crazy to see your fast-food corner beside your fast food corner if it would win Hopefully your alley between the platform and the modulars don't have any shady Lego dealings happening.... Interesting use of the boardwalk characters to break out the plain section of street - would not have thought about that but it works well! Nice integration of the Parisian restaurant on the end - I agree it's a good contrast with the other buildings. I really like the **seamless!!!** integration of the train platform with the Detective's Alleyway - how convenient was that! And it looks almost natural too! This whole section of town has shaped up really well and love the diversity of the scenes! :)

That’s awesome the Fast Food Corner is an Ideas consideration! The man on stilts would be a good addition to the boardwalk, as a kid I remember all the street performers in Key West Florida and there were always people on stilts. Also the series 20 break dancer could be added on the street itself with a build of light brown 2x2 bricks to look like a cardboard box that she is dancing on (an extra package sticker included as well)

Love the street performers. I think the lady liberty need some kind of container with coins in at her feet on the little plinth 🤣🤣 Such a smart idea connecting the platform to the detectives office. It’s very in keeping with similar stations on the London Underground. I can see why the platform needed to be 8 studs wide due to the bridge connection stairs. But I think the majority of the platform should have been 6 studs wide to make the gap between the buildings just a little more realistic. Just a thought. 🤷🏼‍♂️

  • @RobinHoodBricks

That is a fantastic addition. First off I was so excited you added Fastfood corner to the ideas page, I went over and supported before even finishing the video. I am #993 si in 9 hours of this video you are well on your way. If every viewer jumps on it stands a great chance, and the fun thing is none of the bricks are in colors of prints lego does not already have so its an easy build for them to package. Good luck with that IDEAS build. Now on to your addition video. I really like the look of the Parisian Restaurant and feel it's a great addition to the boardwalk. it brings a new color and feel to the end but also has a great color for being close to the fishing shack while keeping the hight of the detective office not looking overly high with the artist's studio at the same level. when you first showed the platform I was looking at how close it was to the back of the buildings and it looked to close but thinking since most areas don't get played in like my 2 &4 yr old granddaughters do, you are probably safe there. I really like the addition of the passage over to the detectives pass-thru for a couple reasons. I think that the second way to the station with the ticket reader is brilliant but it will also give a secret back entranceway for a person to enlist the detective to spy on say a cheating husband or wife, thinking of the other activities in your city. Now about the street performers, they are a great way to use what I think are the best minifigs that are hard to fit into any city, maybe have a combined tip box or bin, and with the elevated platforms you can easily swap them out with others from time to time or during holiday times. All I can say it fantastic adds. from the train area to life rings to all the entertaining stories... if you cant tell I am a bit of a teller myself with my long comments. As always thank you again for sharing your incredible ideas and the wonderful world of Brick Nottingham. Until next time. have a great weekend.

What great luck with the pass through. A few suggestions. Perhaps have the same LBG tiles run all the way through the tunnel and relocate the brown tiles. The second would be to have a ground level eating area for the restaurant in that available space. Or even continuing the second floor balcony outward with additional seating could be a cool challenge. Final note. Myself and friends have voted for your build. Best of luck.

Great job on integrating the platform into the walkway through the detective's office, it's an awesome idea! I like the advert on the back of the diner. I really like the lego sticker packs. Adding the beach and station signage really adds to it and looks awesome. I'd also pick chocolate to for ice cream cone. I laughed when you said strawberry... big mistake. Great video A suggestion:for the train station I’ve seen that platform 4 the furthest platform from the station building ends right in the middle behind the French restaurant if you extend platform 4 to the end of the French restaurant then the stairs to the side of the restaurant and the wall below the stairs can be continued on to the short platform wall and extend platform 2 and 3 aka the platform between the tracks as long as platform4 since the main station of brick Nottingham has an old look to it so platform 1 is the oldest one so it would be shorter since back then trains were shorter than now so platform 2 , 3 and 4 is longer to fit longer newer trains. I hope this is not too much to ask for anyways love the new French restaurant and the actors on the boardwalk they fit perfectly well there. some detail for the train station you could add a train spotter on platform 2 and 3 . Well love the new video and I will vote for your fast food corner moc.

  • @RobinHoodBricks

So basically extend platforms 2/3 and 4 so they reach the far side of the Parisian? I could probably do that IF it doesn't interfere with the next thing between the tracks, which is quite big!

Very nice 😊 Congratulations 😃 Vote casted. You could move the row of buildings a stud or two closer to the boardwalk thus making a little more room between the platform and the back of the buildings, giving minifigs better room to manoeuvre, without having to crouch. You can still have a bridge between the platform and the alleyway, but make it a bit taller, making it easier to pass under. Making the entire platform or just the part at the alleyway a little narrower might also work 👍 Just a suggestion - otherwise, great work 😊

I dont really think the restaurant fits there. Im not sure what you would put there, but that modular is so different you need something that matches. On the pier that I'm close to there is a very large marketplace, that would be good there, Id hate to say to shove the restaurant behind the shack. I just think you could and should put an awesome MOC on the boardwalk. Your ice cream comments are legendary. Can't wait till monday

Great vid! Always a pleasure to watch you work. I did have a small suggestion, instead of a 1x2 blueish grey tile to cover the top two studs in the alleyway, what about a 1x6 plate with some stonework or plant growth, or just a 1x6 tile? But, I've seen so many of your vids that I know you're a pro at this, and whatever you decide will look great!

I have a idea I think you should move the bracket that holds the station sigh over by 1 stud yo the left then move the station sign 1 stud to the left the you have part of the bracket exposed so then you can take a 2x2 tile in white and put one of your subway signs on it and put it next to the station sign on the part of the bracket that is exposed that way minifigs can see that the train is there and that the subway is there!

Hey Mr hood 🙂, I know the distance at the back between the platform and buildings is not an issue for you..but if it was you could also move the byildings forward a few studs because you have a wide boulevard in front of them which gives the illusion of space. It might buy you a bit of room if you needed it. I LOVE the link through of the ally..brilliant integration. You showed in a previous video the lady coming down the beach stairs with beers in her hands and you said you weren't sure where she bought them. I was thinking..why don't you utilise the space under the fish n chip shop as a makeshift beach bar WITH a keg!! It could be an extension of the shop and they could have a grill going down there as well. Just throwing out some thoughts ! I SO love your city..beach looks awesome😉🙂🙂
