Welcome to Robin Hood Bricks
quote: “It started with a single passenger train, and now look what’s happened!” - Mrs Hood
This is a channel for all things LEGO, but mainly the creation, development and relentless expansion of my LEGO City: “Brick Nottingham”. I am Robin, I live in Nottingham (UK) and I love LEGO.
I will share every aspect of Brick Nottingham’s journey including city development, MOCs (My Own Creations), sets I have bought and (hopefully) improved, building guides, and tips & tricks for how I do things along the way.
Robin Hood Bricks is intended to be a POSITIVE and CONSTRUCTIVE (pun intended) channel for adults to watch and enjoy. So please help me keep this on track.
If you want to know or see something specific, add a comment. I am learning as I go and would appreciate the feedback.
Whatever you do, please remember to Subscribe!

If this was a set it would cost $123
To me that plane kinda resembles the TU-95 with its swept wings, which is also a Soviet plane.
It definitely has Soviet vibes!
Looks amazing. love the color
Great isn't it!
Apart from it meaning to represent air it is just a nice colour in general for the room!
It's really cheerful!
I can't believe it has come to this... Me watching a KZread video about someone painting their room 😂
You've probably watched me open mail as well!
@@RobinHoodBricks yes but at least it was LEGO parcels... (though I'm sure there's a 'letter opening' channel on KZread...)
What a wonderful room! What do you think about painting the reddish brown door blue or white?
All our doors are the same so I'll leave that as is I think!
I still think the step in front of the special door should be covered in Lego tread plates.
Funny you should say that. Wait about two weeks!
Beautiful, incredible transformation with just that paint. Can't wait to see the tables and some lego in there!
You and me both!
Wouw!!! That looks so beautiful!!!! You can't imagine that it was a garage before!!! Looking forward to the next update!!!
Nearly there!
That looks fantastic. Can't wait to see the city going in.
Us too!
Looks great! Can’t wait to see the clouds and planes added….and those pesky space aliens!
Me too. An overly cluttered airspace is a must, haha!
Poor hard working Robin and his tiny roller LOL
His shoulders are very tired now, but he did do a great job!
Love the warmth the color brings to the room. Looking very nice indeed.
Yes it does!
The color is perfect 😊👍 Will you be moving forward with brick-built clouds or considering again painted clouds?
I'm gonna try brick built ones because they could look very good but also because painted ones sound scary to me. I've never painted something like that!
Here almost 5 (!) years later. I discovered your channel a few months ago and It was like discovering a must watch TV show that you haven't seen :) Thank you!
Lovely to hear. Welcome to the gang!
Happy to be a subscriber. I hope you don't mind but I built my seascape build similar to your's. The only difference is the helicopters. Two are lego, and two are die-cast. (The monarch, and the Blackhawk)
I always enjoy it when people use my ideas so go ahead. Sounds great!
make a brick built blimp to hAng over those boxes in the corner to make them fit in with the city!
Yes it's a lumpy room but the fuse box will need clear access for when a fuse goes and the lights go out!
@@RobinHoodBricks thats why i said make it a hanging box, ju7st lift it off change a fuse or breaker slip it back over :D
Looking good 👍
Cheers!
Really does look fantastic! Can’t wait see it with the new city
Can't wait!
The blue looks so lovely! It's such a nice and light color. Indeed, it would look great in any normal room, but I think the LEGO city will look even better with the blue sky backdrop.
I totally agree!
Getting so close! Can't wait to see the final product!
We can't wait to get our house back. At least the banging has largely stopped!
The new room is looking great Robin
Thanks so much!
I wonder if there is something you could do that’s yellow and circular that could cover the boxes in the one corner. I’m not sure how covered the boxes can be but even something loose that sits a foot or so back
I think we need access to them in case a fuse went and it was dark. There'll be so much air traffic elsewhere I doubt we'll see it!
Can you show the build of the flower baskets?
Take a lattice fence piece and push into the top holes the side studs of two 1x2 modified bricks with studs on each side (black). Put a brown tile along all the other set of side studs and random flowers on the top ones. Done!
No me creo que hace unas semanas esto era un garaje 😮 Ha quedado espectacular, el color azul le ha dado mucha amplitud 😊
At the end I think I'll do a before and after shot that I think will be amazing. It's really part of the house now!
Amazing Update as always
Glad you think so!
@RobinHoodBricks no problem the color worked very well there, interested to see what's behind that door
Great job
Thank you kindly!
I reckon that door opens like the doors on the delorian, if not you should ask for your money back 😂
It's even better!
@@RobinHoodBricks alright, must be seeing that then
Wow! What a difference, love the blue it makes the room look bigger somehow. Looking forward to the next step. 👍🏻
You and me both!
Looks so good, im so happy for you. Im so looking forward to seeing your clouds and all your aircraft against the wall. Just an idea for the fuse box, you could make it a feature and build a larger cloud/moon/sun or even a large space craft around it.
I'll certainly do something to disguise it but I can't block it in case we need urgent access in the dark!
Not sure if you have already discussed what should happen under the overhang, but that would be a perfect location for a huge cave system under it and a mountain to the left from it. Didn't you want to do a mining scene in the old room anyway? And have you thought about adding clouds to the walls?
I think that overhang is too deep for a cave. It's about 4 or 5 baseplates and would be a lot of land to lose. I'm thinking harbour for there. I intend to try and build Mario World style clouds out of bricks for the walls!
@@RobinHoodBricks Oh, the overhang didn't look that deep in the video. - And I love the idea of cartoonish clouds. 🙂
Wow, a good color makes the room look sooooo different. Those baseboards also looks very neat. Looking forward to see the other side of the door. Is it my impression or is there a gap of light on the right side?!
There won't be a gap for light when it's done. Yes it's such a nice blue!
are you 3:23 still making a secret door as bookcase like in big castle as a hidden passageway?
Not quite but something fun like that!
@@RobinHoodBricks darn, i was hoping so LEGO secret bookcase..
Dear robin, i did sending that LEGO set, i hope he have arrived on your PO Box? i am next week on vacation so i hope you get it this week? and i hope to see on your other channel? it was well experince for mine first time. so enjoy the build and i hope you like that small supermarket car?
I look forward to it. Thank you. I've had an email but not physically received it yet!
@@RobinHoodBricks i hope so because it is not big set but well nice set.
Wow... looks friggin fantastic Robin! Bring on the brick build clouds!
Yes I don't have the parts for them but maybe I should make that a priority. I can always relocate them!
Seeing the unfinished unfurnished room with clean blue walls and white skirting makes me really nostalgic for The Sims for some reason haha. Anyway progress is looking great! Can't wait for the door reveal!
Next week will blow your mind, haha!
Almost there! Looking forward to you being able to start installing the city 😃
You and me both!
Hey Robin, looking great. Love the colour, lights and all the rest. Fun fact, for 17 years, when I was a much younger man, I owned a carpet and flooring business I wish I had a dollar for every square yard of flooring I installed over the years. That would buy a lot of Lego.😜😍👍🇨🇦
It's expensive already, then they add underlay, fitting etc and ouch!
@@RobinHoodBricks just a caution my friend. Adding padding underneath your carpet will make it more difficult to level your tables for up your city. I would have recommended a tight looped commercial carpet attached directly to the floor. That would give you a less bouncy and move able surface to build on. My city is on a concrete floor with commercial carpet on top. Nothing moves and it is easier to level everything. In the event that you eventually use that room for something other than Lego, you can always put a new carpet with padding down then.
This looks fantastic! Really love how the room is coming together, can't wait to see the table set-up :)
I'd better get planning then!
That blue is perfect for the room! Well done on the choice Robin! The finish feels like it's getting closer and closer!
It sure does. One more week I reckon!
Just lovely!
It's even more blue in real life!
@@RobinHoodBricks My absolute favorite color. You've done well!
Still think it’s a bit small I think you should move the kitchen and bedroom into the new Lego room and the city takes over the house
That's what I said!
Erm no. Just no!
Excellent news! So close, soon we'll be watching you from the new room and see your new plans.
Fingers crossed!
Love the way the room has turned out and love the blue color 💙
It's very smart isn't it!
Can’t believe how much larger it looks now the walls are painted.
Yes it's a really nice place to be now!
with that much room, might as well make a rainbow kitty rainbow reference in the sky.
Bleugh!
Hey Robin, Glad you took my advice. Looks amazing 😍
Yes, the paint specialist was a legend. He took me from worried to very happy and clued up!
Congratulations on getting the first “bedoiiing” from the new Lego room!
Lookin' swanky
Cheers!
Looks great! So excited to see it develop. Have you thought about building a small cabinet to paint blue around the fuse box etc?
Well it might need to be accessed in the dark so maybe not. Besides that wall is lumpy enough already!
It’s looking great, can’t wait to see some Lego in there!
Me too!
