maybe the rescue was the friends we made along the way
The city aesthetic this year is a massive step up, like it's crazy how the emergency vehicles this year make a lot of earlier sets look super toy-like by compare.
Firefighting fact of the day: wildland fire fixed wing pilots will usually drop water ahead of the forest fire instead of on it. The fire is often too massive and hot to put out directly. The water combined with the firefighters on the ground digging away at the organic matter helps stop the spread of the fire by creating a “fireline”. It’s like an anti-fire wall :)
I love love LOVE the look of this plane. The colour blocking. The smoothness. Lego designers outdid themselves
Lego killed it with this set. Looks like an absolute blast to build, own, and play with--a hard trio to do equally well with a set!
The wings being narrow actually reminded me of the C-23B Sherpa used by the US Forest Service "Smokejumpers"
I really like the fact the engines are so high up as it implies it can take off from non-paved runways or for ingesting water from a lake or something, which makes sense for forest fire fighting. It's pretty nice looking,
I love the contextual piping leading to the water cannons, that’s nice!
I suggest the following for this plane's backseater: Firefighting Systems Officer (FSO)
That knot hairpiece on the male character is cool. Steven Segal minifig right there.
Dear Jang, thank you for such a quality of reviews you do.
I'm not sure you can fit more toy per square inch of toy than this thing. And it looks great
They don't skimp on the control panels for these terrestrial city designs :)
02:09 Water Weapon Control Officer, now THAT'S an function description I'd want on my business card! :)
Haha. I like how the waterbomber bay loads like a pump action shotgun 😂
I wish the recent Star Wars TIE Bomber had this bombing system. It looks so much more satisfying. Nice to see that nearly all of the interior space is getting used too. Could easily imagine this as a weapon of war shooting destructive energy instead of water.
I didn’t care for the set when I saw the pictures online but this review has shown me how amazingly high quality and fun this set is
This is cool. The water-bombing mechanism reminds me of the Star Wars Resistance Bomber set from the Last Jedi.
i find it interesting how the figure with the orange goggles uses the exact same hairpiece and faceprint as the driver of the green car from the Modified Race Cars set
With the engines on top of the wings like that, perhaps they were intending for it to be a Canadair-type plane, able to scoop up water from a lake.
I like it. Might pick one up and turn it into a water-based (boat-hulled) fire fighting plane. Thanks for sharing!!!
I've always been fascinated by fire planes in the past, this new version is very nice and uses the space in the plane very well for better play value, I love this set!
Jang always delivers an honest review. This set is one I'm interested in adding. Always good to know the good and the not so good. Thanks Jang
Love the way you reviewed LEGO sets, very informative and straightforward ... SUBSCRIBED right away!!!
I would have loved this when I was younger
Thank you for the constant quality reviews Jang!
you are my favourite lego youtuber, keep up the good work!
Jang would be the best pilot
I like the new / current color style of Fire. I like how it looks but the hole behind the cockpit is really odd. The trigger being built into the water canons are great. I put it in backwards once and broke the piece trying to fix it to the point I had to request a new one.
Not bad for $55. Good size for the price.
I get C130 vibes from this. Good amount of "stuff" for $55 when compared to other city sets i feel.
wow i feel like i havent seen those pieces on the end of the wings for YEARS its crazyt to see that piece again
I just picked up one of these on clearance for $33. I can't believe how quickly my local WM ditched this set!
Thank you for the info about this, i was thinking of i shout buy it or not. You have done a good job of telling about it 👍🏼
Good value and no stickers! Lego is finally giving the fans what we want!
Color swap it from red to gray now you got a gunship
It’s been a. While since I’ve wanted to buy a plane this one I would buy. The drop system for the water looks like it works perfectly and I like how the whole cabin opens up. Plus we got hair pieces
My nephew has this set called a Fire fighting ac-130. That makes me want this a bit
Great review.. my son wants this set for his birthday..
The plane's design itself is overall great, tho the use of the rounded cockpit piece just doesn't look right to me... The wings and fuselage just looks way too sleek for what is supposed to be a heavy and chunky aircraft. I feel the more pointy cockpit like in the medivac helicopter from last year should've been used instead, though I don't know enough about fire fighting aircraft to know if such a design makes sense.
Really like the stud shooters and water bombs. Should make for a great set for my kids. Not a big fan of that same old large cockpit piece.
It's great use of space as you said, a good plane with nice action features, storage, and holds multiple figures. Only nits I could pick are making the wings larger and using more brick building instead of one piece for the nose and cockpit.
I really like this, I actually already saw this in store yesterday and it kinda stopped me in my tracks which city stuff rarely does. The one thing I'd say is that the engines look a bit odd on top of the wings.

If it's supposed to scoop water out of a lake, you'd want the engines high up to avoid them ingesting water.
Lego is knocking it outta the park this year with the City sets
This is a bit costly I thought at first, and it still is, but at $55 it's actually a lot cheaper in the US (by today's standards) than the old 60217: Fire Plane set from 2019, which this new set is clearly a sucessor of given the similarities between them in theming, functions and design. In the 2019 set, the plane was a bit shorter in each dimension by 1cm to 5cm and had less interior space; there was a lot of stickers in the set while the new set is all prints and the side build of the terrain is similar, but smaller in the new set. The older set had a small ATV though. The 2019 set however was $60 back then, which is around $72 today, but it was only £35 back then, which would be around £43 today. I suppose that's why I thought this felt a bit much by comparison, but it's not by a drastic amount though.
fantastic plane awesome review jang 👍
The water dropping function reminds me of the one in the Phoenix temple of lego chima, but better
Greetings, Another great review!! Your channel is one of my favorites! I was curious about the awesome Mechs that are visible over your left shoulder in the background. Are those Lego? Any chance you could give those a mention in a future video? THX
With 1 more figure, I'd call this excellent value
Okay, yeah, I'm gonna buy one of these. I like that it's a jet instead of the usual prop-driven superscooper planes. Nice design, good use of space, and I like the idea of this plane circling a hot space and dousing it with water from the side cannons. Kinda like a water gunship!
Looks good. Perhaps next time a water bomber flying boat!
Love the hoodie!
I have to admit, it looks really fun to play with!!!
🔥🧑🚒🔥 Nice Looking Plane ! 🔥🧑🚒👍
This is such a great set and an even better review :)
Something about the color scheme here I find really off-putting. Maybe it's too dark? I think throwing in some more of the vibrant yellow up on the wings would have helped it feel less... oppressive? I dunno
I think the wings are just a little too small to really look good, but other than that I really like this.
Not half bad. Just can’t help that I find the one-piece canopy piece a bit too one-piece specialized.
who also thinks this plane has a heavy AC130 vibe? (which i like it v much)
Interesting fire plane
I feel like they could have easily integrated this mechanism into the Tie Bomber set.
To me the look of the plane doesn't work at all. The wings look thin and far too tiny. But functions and play features are fine
I can't help but seeing this as a Belgian plane lol
I don't like the jetpack, it gives me Sky Police flashbacks.
It looks just like that one arctic explorer plane, except in red

I suppose anything that uses that nose piece will look a bit similar
i love it❤
Hot set!
Closest to a military plane
The aircraft seems to be loosely based on the Boeing Yc-14
best lego fire plane
I like it
So good
I know that city and technic are vastly diffrent themes but the firefighter aircraft that released a year ago is so much more complex and so much bigger than this city set, they may have totally diffrent age ranges but the size difference for only twice the price is extremely noticeable.

I was just thinking about the technic firefighter aircraft too. That's a cool one!
This is the best fire plane yet Should have been $45
turn it Grey and you get a AC-130 XD
This set is fire 🔥
Lego
The wings are way too small.
Aesthetically, those wings look a little wimpy to hold all that in the sky believably. Sure, it works fine as the "toy" it's posing as, but we AND Lego know who the real buyers are these days, they could do better with stuff like that.
