Its a nice little set.
I started out this review somewhat unsuspecting, I'm not a huge starwars guy so I guess I wasn't too much in to it. I heard Jang say: "I paid 17 dollars for this set", granted .. it was with a lot of noise in the back, so I missed the "Seven, Zero" right after it. I was immediately intrigued by the prospect of having a good priced set in this day and age. Despite the set not having a great color scheme, great minifigures or a very interesting design, at least the piece count and starwars IP would cost more right? Well, as it turned out, I misheard what I wanted to hear. 17 dollars for this would have been amazing, even for someone like me that never buys starwars and would probably throw the minifigures in a box to never use them. But paying 70 dollars .. not so much. I can buy two great boardgames for that price, this isn't even half the scale of what you would want for your minifigures and for 70 dollars I can probably make 2 awesome looking spaceships by ordering parts seperately and designing my own. This is a solid review though, I like that the design includes a storage space for the droids and a play feature to release them. The shooters integrated in the hull up front and cockpit in the back are both nice touches. I don't know if this ship is supposed to look like this, but the color scheme is just too boring and bland for me. If this is what current Lego Star wars is, I think I didn't miss much. I even swapped to another video review of an older version of this same ship from 2015 (set 75096), that one is a bit better for sure. At the very least the scale and interior are a lot better used to fit with minifigures. If you can get a larger version of this for 100 bucks retail, I would probably get that one instead, at least for people that are interested in collecting these ships.
And that is why I always say "Seventy dollars U.S., Seven-Zero" 🤣
What a great set. Love the allignment of several speedchamps windows, the colours and the super tight interior with even the nice padded textures.
I was like, oh, no transformy, too bad but makes sense, but yes transformy, I dont mind the unleggening
I come from the _fuuuuuture_ of two years and just ordered a used one for over half off! Pretty excited as that’s about how much the old Adventurer’s elephant costs. My niece kept calling her Duplo elephant a baby then that made me look up the baby elephant and fortune struck.
NGL, I wish you had covered this first before the other set as a joke just to tease some people. "HeY gUys, ChEcK oUt tHiS nEw SeT." Let's be honest, some people deserve it after what you've been through before with your channel's previous drama. I'm just glad to see ya takin the time out of your day (and money out of your budget) to even bother covering this tiny little insignificant poly bag set just to provide another video. I guess it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise though after all, your channel is about Lego so if course it's the small things that matter. 😅
Can someone please remake this in black and yellow😂
I'm terrible with cars, is this a Shelby cobra???
The print on the dish on top of the ship looks good too. I think it's important to point out good work as well as the poor, like you did with the good print on Saw vs the poor on Qui-Gon. I agree with you on those.
Adorable build!
Being able to comment on an 'old review' is just about as satisfying as that gun turret mechanism 😀
I miss the raised baseplates. Also the color scheme and and tbe simpliness in all of it. So classy.
I was upset that they didn’t put an actual driver in it, but based on the childish face in the helmet, my head cannon is it’s Oscar Piastri 😂
This firetruck looks straight out of MGSV
This reminds me of the space cars they used in the third season of ninjago
Would love too see more information or even comparison about sticker quality!
Hope that driveway can fit the Speed Champions Countach because my Series 17 Yuppie Minifigure's looking for a new pad. Always loved Paradisa's Miami-Vice-style aesthetics.
It’s a great little set as is, but you could always replace the rear wheels with the go-kart slicks if you want the more accurate distinction. They do stick out though.
Should add a neon green or yellow stud in place of the orange on to represent the actual drivers helmets better!
They have to do an a320 airbus
Just to check whether Jang did build a Animal Crossing Lego town?
11 YEARS?? Wow! Did lego ever offer to sponsor you and you turned them down to stay independent?
I was freaked out about that leftover 1x2 piece. I checked over and over again just to make sure before moving on. I'm glad it was indeed an extra piece.
I got the polybag from last year, this green one, and the blue McLaren. I kept the white one built and now I want to rebuild the green and blue ones even more than I did. but they're just such good parts packs.
Now compare this to the $30 Kellaren Beck set.
the first issue is in the first bag as there is a problem with the drive shaft and it is crooked because the gear math was done wrong
It’s crazy how much more orange the nose sticker is than on the normal sized speed champions one
Would be nice to get another minifig-scale version. Been a while for that.
Love this set! It's very nicely translated into bricks. BUT! What's really buggin' me is the hubcaps / wheel covers. Although lego is giving us some nice prints here, they are still keeping it cheap! Don't get me wrong, these 2x2 round tiles are printed very accurate and (at least mine) are even centered accurately, too. Still, they do look so very two dimensional. The originals are more like concave bowls instead of flat discs. The upcoming new Lambo will have printed 2x2 round tiles again, instead of real 3D ones! It all started with the Countach, if I'm not mistaken. That's a development I don't like.
Oh man it looks so good especially for the size! They did geat.
This brings me back to the good old days of Tiny Turbos, and for that reason alone, I love it. Definitely buying multiples of this.
picked this up a week ago and it's really nice considering it's only $5
I got the green one as a gwp when I didn't know Lego did gwp lol. It was a random surprise. Now I am on my 3rd year collecting Speed Champions and I like the polybags to go with them.
This is mind blowing! I need the entire grid!!
Lego could put a space baby head to make the pilot. But I guess this raises the cost of it.
Dare I say this is better than the SC version? Sometimes less is more. Hope I can also find it somewhere, but those polybags get increasingly difficult to find. And that box for the sticker sheet.....I have seen that before with polybags, but why don't they do that with bigger sets? I just built the MP 4/4, and yes, both the instructions (on weirdly thin paper) and the sticker sheet where just loose in the box without any kind of protection. Seems like the instuctions were at least held in place flat to one side of the box by the (still plastic....) bags with parts, the sticker sheet was not quite so lucky. "Only the best is good enough", right?
Great video
The proportions feel better on the polybag than the Speed Champions one for some reason! Very nice job.
The tires are proportionately larger, that’s why it looks better
Really enjoying these polybag reviews! These sets really call back to the Tiny Turbos days, which I love and would love to see continued
I think LEGO did a great job on the F1 cars for 2024. Great little Poly-bag set
It’s adorable and cool in all the best ways
Hah, it's funny, I just watched this original review again a few days ago after I watched your preview for the new Star Destroyer. It's a nice model, you described it well! 11.5 years?! Man, time flies! I've been watching you for many years now, your reviews are excellent. I like how you have high standards but are also reasonable, and you notice small details and such. Thanks again JANG for all the years of awesomeness!
saw gerrera is has more of a blue color than green
That’s a dang solid downsized set! Nice!
they should have put a sound brick inside too. like the one they just used for the newly released old school radio set
Looks good but for me the best little F1 car was from the Shell promo about 10 years ago.
Well this is my favourite 6 wide car
Having the proper proportions for front and rear tires for these cars at the Speed Champs and up sizes is something Lego should definitely invest in. But I think at polybag scale, it can easily be forgiven. This car looks great!
I wish they did the whole grid.
It looks really good. For added realism I suggest two slight modifications: swap out the tires and axels to replace them with the old style ones (6157 axels and 30028 rims and 30027b slicks); second mod would be to change the teal wing pieces with a 1x4 teal plate and a 1x2 black plate, in order to use the same 1x2x²/₃ tile used for the sidepod inlet. That creates the more realistic sidepod shape and keeps a bit of teal visible for the sponsor
I did the same thing with the wheels. I also added a 50949 diffuser, and lowered the sidepods so that the Halo can sit at the appropriate angle.
