This video showcases the removal of the stock 512GB 2242 SSD and replacing it with a 2TB 2230 SSD. The cloning software I used is Macrium Reflect. I recommend you buy a USB-C NVME enclosure. It makes the whole process a lot more easier and you can use it for the spare 512GB SSD you now have.

Nice video but how did you secure the 2230 in a 2242 slot? Just electrical tape? Here in the UK I cannot find an extender which can be delivered in a few days - they are all two weeks away.

Yep that’s what I did. I just screwed the tape into the screw hole and made sure it was properly adhered to the SSD.

Just use credit card plastic, cut out the extender that is 5mm longer than you need (12+5mm), make whole for screw on one side, and on the other aide that will connect to nvme, make 3-4 perpendicular 5 mm long cuts with equal interval, and then bend the “theeth” at different sides of card. You will get Y-shaped profile if you look at the edge. Place this side to m2 card edge and screw it down
When I install the new SSD it sends me to recovery it doesn't start normally and in bios it appears disabled UEFI I don't know what's wrong? help!
Hi will this 2230 ssd overheat ? And did you put the 2242 stock whatever tape that on that lego to your 2230 ssd ?

Thank you. I just taped it down. The connector already flattens out the SSD. The tape is just there for added security.
I suppose 2230 is from steam deck or Rog ally? Nice device 👍
