The kids were voiced by two of the actor’s own kids (Liam O’Brien/Vax’s daughter and Sam Riegal/Scanlan’s son respectively). Probably gave that last scene a bit of an extra kick

@ReactZone123 Congratulations on stumbling onto one of the best fandoms around: Friendly, inclusive, bursting with behind-the-scenes lore but taking pains nor to spoil things, so you can experience it with fresh eyes! I hope you'll engage often, and trust that if they provide links to the many painstakingly edited videos showing the transition from livestream to animated show, they're spoiler-free and you'll get more of the Easter Eggs hidden in here for fans. Welcome to the Critter Community!
Loved the reaction dude! You even pointed out something I haven't seen someone notice before with the brother and sister reminding vax of him and vex. And how she said their mother was killed by a dragon and then these kids just died to a dragon

Yoooo! I'm glad to hear it was enjoyable. I appreciate the comment. 🙏 If you're new to my content, I try my best to pick up on subtle details and piece plot lines together. I also enjoy trying to understand things from characters' pov. While also just having fun and being myself. If you're into that type of content, then you found a new corner of the internet to hang out in. 😉

@@ReactZones If that's your jam, you're going to love this series :) The characters drive it.
6:33 during the first live campaign yes, Sam as Scanlan would improvise lyrics to give players Bardic Inspiration. He'd also tell really corny jokes to cast Tasha's Hideous Laughter.

HECK yes, new VM reactor! *settles in with popcorn* Love this for us. You're going to have a blast! The first two episodes are like a world/setting primer, they're great, but the pacing is a little different to the rest of the show. Worth noting if things feel a little oddly paced here at the start. The cast list is well worth checking out, it's stacked. 2:48: "Genre typical violence" lol. Ah DnD, where its a short path from "that guy looked at me funny" to "welp, time to do a murder I guess, hold my beer". "If they hadn't've chopped off Agar's hand..." yes, there often seems to be a touch of serendipity around Vox Machina :) Occasionally fate needs an axe-shaped nudge. "Why would he give them silver?" Because Vax is the softest Dark-and-Shadowy-Rogue to ever. Vex is the twin who cares about the coin :p Great reaction, looking forward to the rest. Love seeing folks discover this world!
This series is so great. It’s even better in season 2.

Hey! A familiar face! Lol. I keep hearing that. S2 tends to give more characterization, I'm told.
Their home game started before 2015 when Liam O’Brien had a birthday party and ask his buddy Matt Mercer to run a one-shot with friends. The group had a blast, it turned into a semi-regular home game. Felicia Day of Geek and Sundry learned about the game, asked if they wanted to stream it live on Twitch. The group jumped in and the show blew away expectations. Eventually, they started their own company and separated from Geek & Sundry, running the stream on their own in 2018. This show was the product of a Kickstarter that raised a record breaking $11.4M for a promised 10 episode run. After the success of the kickstarter, Amazon gave them a ring and they cut a deal to find two additional episodes for a total of 12 episodes in season 1; Amazon also funded another 12 episodes for season 2. Season 3 was announced in Oct 2022 at NYCC. Earlier this year, they announced a deal with Amazon for another animated show based on their second campaign, The Mighty Nein, plus additional projects and movies. The game originally used the Pathfinder system at home but switched to D&D 5e for the stream. Characters, race and class info: Scanlan - Gnome, College of Lore Bard played by Sam Riegel Grog - Goliath, Path of the Berzerker Barbarian, played by Travis Willingham Keyleth - Half-elf, Circle of Moon Druid, played by Marisha Ray\ Vaxildan - Half-elf, Assassin Archetype Rogue, played by Liam O’Brien Vexhalia - half-elf, Beast Master Conclave Ranger, played by Laura Bailey Pike - Gnome, War Domain Cleric, played by Ashley Johnson Percival - human, Gunner Fighter, played by Taliesen Jade (Custom subclass adapted from Pathfinder, later revised and published by WOTC) Matt Mercer played numerous NPCs

Afaik no seasons beyond S3 have been confirmed for LoVM and there is no release date for S3 yet (although SDCC and NYCC are coming up and I'm personally waiting for an announcement at one of those). They have confirmed however that they're working on at least one season of a sister show, about the adventures of The Mighty Nein, the party from their second campaign. Also no release date yet.
Awesome. New to your channel to watch ya go through this series. Welcome to the ride. It’s a wild one. Look forward to seeing the rest of your reactions to the two seasons. 6:28 pretty much. Sam (Scanlan) always did a song when giving inspiration.

Ooooh! I'll try to keep a look out. I saw him on video recently, so I have a good idea what he looks like. Pretty neat Easter egg.
6:58 Technically in the campaign he spoofed songs, which to me was even more impressive. The only rap I can remember off the top of my head is when he was inspiring Vax for something at a live show, which was definitely one of his longest songs in the stream. Also to note: In D&D officially dragons only come in a few flavors of awful-to-deal-with, Chromatic (Evil) and Metallic (Good? Debatable), what the crew dealt with was an Chromatic Dragon, your classic dragons that basically wanna watch the world burn from atop their gold piles. For D&D they come in 5 colors; Blue - Lightning Breath, what we see here is a Adult Blue Dragon. Green - Poison Breath, these dragons take "Dutch Oven" to the extreme. Red - Fire Breath, your most classic of dragons, this is your Smaug dragon, the dragon whose motto is "coming soon to burn a town near you!" Black - Acid Breath, now imagine Balerion or Drogon from A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones, then imagine that dragon spitting sulphuric acid out of it's mouth at you. That's a Black Dragon. White Dragon - Ice Breath, think you can escape a dragon trying to wreck your sh** by running away to the tundra? Think again! D&D really out here like "What if Elsa was a giant lizard with a personality problem"

I am (admittedly) a Critter, but as a storyteller, filmmaker, actor, and voice actor I think this is genuinely some of the best and well-constructed episodic media I’ve ever seen regardless of my love for the show. One of the reasons why the Critters are so happy and pleased with how the show turned out is because it was completely fan-supported and the end product is objectively amazing. We were lucky enough to get an adaptation that isn’t just familiar and get different from the source material, but it’s also just really well-made storytelling. Buckle up. To quote Doc Brown, “you’re gonna see some serious shit.” 😎

Unfortunately no movie has been confirmed. They did however sign a first look film deal with Amazon (basically if they ever wanna make a movie, they have to pitch it to Amazon first and only if they don't want it can they look for other funding/distribution), which has made a lot of people (me included) hopeful about the possibility of one in the future.

@@ReactZonesExpect a wide new audience: Even the CEO of Critical Role, Travis Willingham (Grog) watches reaction shows from non-fans, and fans LOOOVE new viewers! ...Similarly, if you ever branch into gaming playthroughs, I highly recommend Subnautica. With the Titan disaster, a lot of folks started into it to deal with ocean fears --thalassophobia-- and it turns out there's a huge community there, who game developers interacted with throughout its creation. @@ReactZones I know, right? I would have been all over that... I'd love to really see their first impressions of the mild changes that were done in the show vs. what happened in the podcast. Or the visual depictions of various NPCs! I know they did the voices, but the way that's done, most scenes are done individually and then pieced together later into the animation. Many voice actors never experience entire scenes until they can watch the finished animated product.

That's probably not going to happen. I'm able to talk and entertain while also paying attention. I've been reacting to content long enough to be able to do so. I did watch the show in this video, but I understand if my content isn't for you. My take on reactions is a bit different than others. I don't like to just sit there saying nothing. That's not transformative enough to be considered my own content.
