Thank you immensely! Had a left cerebellar infarct at age 49, in my sleep, and upon waking had no idea what was happening. Terrifying. I am what I would call miraculous recovery. "No cause" was specified. I did have a wonderful stroke team and many cts and mris. I wasn't told til day 2 in hospital what had happened to me, that the stroke occurred in my sleep and woke to the severe symptoms. I am so lucky to have gotten a bed on the stroke floor under the care of a specialist. Symptoms were very similar. Thank you SO much for this discussion. Not talking about it is a huge problem, and dismissing the aftermath is common. Thank you, again, this is very validating and helpful.

Wow, this is so much like my own situation; Had a massive stroke in my cerebellum, May 2020, 58 years old, normal blood pressure, happened at night, didn’t get properly diagnosed for 12+ hours due to uncommon/atypical presentation. Hospital staff were , in my estimation, Ill-prepared to provide the necessary care in the critical time period. I think it was a combination of incompetence and laziness on the part of ER staff. I had to finally ask a nurse if it could be a stroke before I got the CT scan! Ugh… 3 and-a-half years and still recovering albeit very slowly.

Yours experience at hospital unfortunately is a common experience among stroke survivors. Thanks for your comment. Recovery is ongoing after 11 years for me.

Thank you for your video. I am recovering from a left cerebella stroke, age 52. I have minimal symptoms but it does take an emotional toll. It affected my balance leaning and falling to the right hand side and some blurry vision. I am trying to keep occupied and building my stamina and strength up daily. The most important thing is to never give up and focus on the positives 👏😍

I found that I benefited a lot by going to regular counseling and I agree with your statement of never giving up. Heal well, Simon.
