@@SilverScarletSpider depends what you want honestly. I still got the tacoma. And the 86. Tacoma has served me so well. It’s a single cab prerunner so it’s super useful but not very comfortable. My 86 isn’t that comfortable either. I definitely need a vehicle with 4 doors but I’m not sure if I’d still get the ridge line. There’s the ford maverick now which is another great option…

@@jonsauce That’s a good point. I can trust Toyota’s Tacoma and Honda’s Ridgeline reliability. I can trust the Hyundai Santa Cruz and Ford Maverick to get recalled within 8 years and have unreliable shit electronics, failing brakes, and hybrid engine issues.

With your truck bed down and the camper window up, can you tell me how many inches of clearance you've got from floor to where the window stops? I'm trying to see if there is enough vertical space to get a power wheelchair in the back. Thanks!

Beautiful! I'm trying to decide on an aluminum cap. I just don't want heavy fiber glass. I don't like the way the ARE aluminum looks but I like that the side windows open up... But maybe I don't even need that feature, I can't decide. I'll look again for what Leer makes for aluminum cap.

When the rear window of the topper is up and open , does rain run off to the sides or does it drip everywhere along the opening and into the truck box? I’m just thinking of the situation when camping, wanting to get out of the rain but wanting to leave the rear window of the topper open for fresh air. If the rain pours into the end of the box I guess I could create a small tarp to strap on with bungee straps. Thanks

I had bed cover and it leaked in same spot, on the wall next to middle windows, Its some design of the Ridgeline that 99% of owners say it leaks from. Nothing drips it just runs down the wall to floor and its not very much. I use plastic tubs. Vision has not really bothered me, Backing up utility trailer the hardest, gust open top back window so I can see out better and see my ramp

No same as stock. Im about at 30,000 miles now. Next i see needing new brake rotors and pads. tad bit of shake when slow down easy but still smooth normal stop.

@@jasonin2details yeah I replaced my pads and rotors with Centrics from tire rack. Way better bite and no more shimmy. The stock rotors were garbage after 15k miles

Its easy for 2 strong people. If you really wanted to remove yourself semi often you would need a to set up rig in garage or outside that you pull under and it hoist it up. The clamps that hold it on take about 10 min to remove. You would need to replace the foam between each time. I can only guess its 350 pounds.

What was general price range for the topper. And are you happy with the reliability for long-term with the Honda ridgeline? I’m really thinking of purchasing a used one as I go into retirement so I needed to last a long time and put a topper on it like you

My ownership is 40,000 miles in and have zero problems. Tops run close to 3000 installed. If you really decide to want used hit me up, i might get a new 21 Black edition in White.

My question I’ve been trying to get a answer from Leer is do they put any reinforcement in the front two points that cover the black trim at the front of the bed? Looks to me like it would crack after a while being a small piece of fiberglass pointing into the wind all the time.

I have had zero problems there and I think its not something to worry about. Its actually very thick. Hope this answer helps

nope. i drove 500 miles last weekend with my big utility trailer packed full and bed full and had zero issues. ran 75mph average and got 15mpg on way back all empty trailer got 18

O i forgot to mention that. The trunk lid opens all the way, nothing in the way. My old lid cover actually was in the way.

I liked the look and function. Smooth frameless windows and the way it sat on bed rails seemed better than other brand

@@jasonin2details Gotcha, thanks. I'm mostly hauling family bikes, and trying to figure out which way to go. The minivan would probably be better except for those occasions when I have to load them up all muddy. The truck certainly looks cooler, but a minivan is probably the "vehicle least likely to be pulled over." :)

@@ItsJustManny305 i went with an Auidson 8 shallow mount. Used the stock sub box. On back of factory sub there is a screw and i had to cut about a 3 inch hole around it cause of how deep the new sub was and then i glued sheetmetal across that hole.

Yes and no one can figure it out on the Forum groups. Even my metal bed cover leaked. It just part of the design on the Honda that weeps water

@@jasonin2details I have a Pilot now and love it but I’m switching over to the Ridgeline with a camper for this reason. I have 4 dogs and it is near impossible to get the hair out.

So for $3100 you can get a topper installed that leaks and doesn't look right. Hard pass.

Why didn't you just buy a awd honda odyssey? It's basically the same thing now. You own a 4 door minivan now.

I haul junk, trash, wood, car parts leaking oil and more why in the world would I want any of that in a van? And I tow 5000 pounds with my truck often.

Whenever I see these I wonder why not buy an SUV. You can keep anything wet or dirty in a container bin.

tore down rotted shed put in bed, Got a lot of wet firewood, stinky trash all the time, muddy mountain bikes. The inside of a SUV to me would be destroyed quick and I like to keep my interior very nice.
