Excellent review .. thanks Jason! Honda is really listening to Ridgeline owners. I own a 2019 Ridgeline. Seems reviewers never mentions that the spare tire is on a sliding tray 'in' the trunk ... that's a big plus over all other trucks. Honda needs to improve the resolution on the rearview cameras. Reviewers never mention the rearview camera on the passenger side exterior rearview mirror and that camera is a big plus for sure. Also, the interior rearview mirror needs to be more adjustable for the taller driver.

I bought my 2019 from Deland and have no affiliation with them. I had a 2017 and upgraded to the RTL-E model for the ACC FCW and a few other features. For those with a 2017 thru 2019 that don't like the rear door limited range just buy the Honda Pilot door stays like I did and others and it opens just like the 2020 and believe me you need that extra opening range. I had to purchase a Honda manual key lock for the tail gate since Honda didn't decide to do this until the 4th year of manufacture (come on Honda you should have done this on the 17!!). The 9 speed sounds awesome and the manual unlock for the tailgate and gas door are certainly welcomed. This is the best riding vehicle that is a truck I have ever driven that is why I bought a 17 and now a 19. However the Honda interface with the multi media display is about the worst out there. It is not intuitive, not easy to use, no button back up and take multiple pushes on the flat screen to get simple things done. Hey Honda look at how Uconnect on FCA works it is a model of simplicity. I do really love driving my truck and it works perfectly gets reasonable fuel mileage too...

I don't know -- I bought a 2019 and I'm actually relieved the 2020 is only debatably better. You can make your rear doors the same with $20 in parts and about 40 minutes work. Tailgate lock seems almost the same as the Popalock system, so you could do that too. And I'm really not sure I'd want the ZF 9 speed instead of a Honda six. Paddle shifters would be nice, other than that I'm not seeing the point.

Honda Pro Jason I'm looking to get a midsize pickup truck and had looked over everything out there; started to look at the Ridgeline and say you review the 2019 Ridgeline. The thing that sold me was the trunk in the rear bed; even found the trim level I would like to have RTL-T. Unfortunately this model is longer produced. It was the best trim level with just the right options; now it is no longer produced and the RTL has no navigation from what I've read and seen. The RTL-E in my opinion has more than I would really like. I personally don't care for vechiles that are fully loaded; I have always wanted a middle of the road type options on vechiles.

Hello. Jason. a question. I bought a 2021 honda ridgeline sport and the white lights in front of the LED strips won't turn on and they say at the dealer it doesn't come equipped with those lights. If you can help me if it comes equipped with LED. If they share the same lights with Pilot and the pilot if it brings LED light.

Can You Please Add Details Regarding The 9 Speed Transmission and Paddle Shifter. Specifically Are There Any Improvements in This Transmission Setup vs. The 2018 & 2019 Honda Pilot 9 Speed Transmissions? (NOTE 1 Numerous Car Magazines and Consumer Reports 2019 Car Buyers Issue Comment Unfavorably on The Honda Pilot Pilot 9 Speed Transmission; Note 2 The 2018 & 2019 and Ridgeline Had a Very Well Liked 6 Speed Transmission.) Other Than Simplifying Honda Parts Inventory, Did How Did This Transmission Change Help Ridgeline Buyers? Also, Has This 2020 Transmission Setup Been Adjusted/Refined to Support 5,000 Towing?

The truck only got the nine speed because Honda discontinue the the 6-speedHonda doesn't care about towing they care about how cost effective is to build something it's cheaper to put together the same motor and transmission for all four of the vehicles that run on this platform

2018 Ridgeline Question?? Is there a way to have the tail lights on when you remote start it? It’s nice to have a visual aid as other brands do this All they do is flash once but don’t stay on

BUCK WRABBIT I have a 2019. There is a way. My method is leaving the parking lights on. After start-up hit the unlock button and the lights glow for one minute. However this only works if the truck is unlocked and to turn the lights back on you have to re-lock while in remote start and unlock again. It’s an extremely tedious process but there is one. Hope this helps from a fellow Ridgeline owner.

@@xenonsaccord4447 so even if you leave the parking lights on, when you remote start it won't keep the lights on unless you unlock it?

Don Jacobs Unfortunately yes. If you re-lock the truck in remote start mode (which you can apologies for my incorrect information) it shuts the lights back off. The lights will stay on for one minute then you have to repeat the cycle.

Google pop and lock tailgate locking system. Some places can install as an aftermarket parts. Will lock both handles on a Ridgeline. I had one installed on my 2013.

I really like the Ridgeline (and Pilot and Passport -- and Hondas in general - I'm on my second CRV and have owned three Accords), but I wonder why the Honda SUVs have relatively small fuel tanks. This seems like an oversight especially for the Ridgeline which has a built-in trailer hitch and wiring standard and holds 19.5 gallons. For comparison, a Chevy Malibu holds 15.8 gallons; a Ford Fusion, 16.5 gallons; a Tacoma, 21 gallons; and a Subaru Outback holds 18.5 gallons. Is 400ish miles of range enough? Sure, but couldn't they fit another 2 or 3 gallons in the Ridgeline and Pilot to gain a few extra miles of range?
