I only have one putter-because it works when I work it. But I love Lee Trevino and his teaching and speaking on golf and life, and will watch every bit of footage he's in. Watching this taught me how others struggle, and maybe I picked up a thing or two about old/new greens. I grew up playing old Bermuda, bent is such a delight in comparison. Thanks.

The first lesson I had was for putting and I still remember what the instructor told me in 1980.

Amazing putting clinic! Learned a ton on technique, grip and stance. Love Lee a ton. He’s always entertaining!

I remember years ago listening to Trevino tips about putting. And he mentioned that the way to grip your putter is to imagine that you are wringing out a towel. 47:20 I was hoping that I heard that advice again. Oh and I've done this since.

I've watched this 3 times now and learnt something new each time. The first part about grass is interesting but not much use in the UK were all grass is the same and generally just meadow grass. The bit I still don't get is how Lee split the green in half to then survey it. Was the line at the hole and only looking back side of the hole or was it split down the middle so left and right.

13:00 If you look at it on a map and the top being the north , split it down the middle North to South! Left half: L to R putts(Fade). Right half: R to L putts (hook putts).

@@LeeTrevinoFans That's what I figured he meant. TBH I don't see how that will help determine left to right or right to left breaks but until I get on a green to test it I can't dismiss it. If he mentioned this in his book I'd love for you to post the pics on Insta.

@@mattvirgo1542 After some thought....its mainly a go to decision maker if youre on the fence about one break or another(like a putt that looks straight)....hint: rarely a straight putt anywhere.

Man, I still roll some of those TPA putters but the Wilson Staff models. Problem is they both know me... too well!

Never used a TPA.....But I use my 8802 Arnold Palmer when I want to develop my feels.... Youre right sometimes they need a time out!

Yeah, I've got a couple of heel shafted putters that make their way into the rotation at times. But Lee seems to be fond of that TPA. That's what he is using in the '96 SWWOG against Jack, it looks like he did a recent clinic in Michigan and he still had it. Although, it had a SuperStroke grip now.

i still have a merry mex hat that i got at the spalding factory store in chicopee ma.

I have a set of Lee Trevino Personal Model irons by Greentree in Scotland, they have tiny sombreros at ends of the lines on the face (where diamonds are commonly found). Top of the line 1973 or so, very much like the Dunlop Australian Blade.
