You guys are among the MANY people who were amazed by Bonham's foot work. According to Robert: “I remember Hendrix coming up to Bonzo at a club in New York,” the singer recalled. “And in those days everybody used to jam. It was a place called Steve Paul’s Scene. It was Buddy Miles and Hendrix and [Jeff] Beck. There was loads of us. Me, Rod Stewart, people all over the place.” He continued: “[Hendrix] came up to Bonzo and he said, ‘You know what? You got a foot like a rabbit.’

@@ceejay1794 with Hendrix? Sadly no, he passed too soon. Jimmy said he'd missed seeing Hendrix when he was with The Yardbirds then a brief time later, just missed a Hendrix concert because he'd been touring with Zep and was exhausted, so thought he'd catch Hendrix next time round, but it was not to be. There's a bootleg I've heard (don't ask me where or when, bootleg knowledge isn't my forte, unfortunately) where Robert talks briefly about Hendrix from the stage and the tragedy of his passing.

I remember this álbum was massacred by several critics , when released. The general opinion was that Jimmy was sloppy, and that Plant had lost his voice, not reaching his prime high notes. Even the Band members spoke out publicly they were not satisfied with the result, but It was already made....As a teen fan , of course I noticed guitar lines were not the same we were used to listen on oficial recordings and that Plant 's voice was kind of restrained, but It didnt bother me at all. Nowadays I think Page's guitar here is incredibly improvisational and creative , and although Plant 's voice was already showing signs of vocal fatigue by that time, he always managed to create alternative interesting Melodies. TSRTS is one of greatest rock live albuns of ALL times

Thank you as well for requesting the original 1976 album release. Not the remastered version, which cut out part of Jimmy's solo on Celebration Day, No Quarter and missing the funk section on Whole Lotta Love. The original 1976 release is the way to go for their first dive into the album. They can get to the movie afterwards. :)

This album was released the summer that I graduated high school. I wore the 8 track tape slap out. I then saw them live the following year at the ill-fated Tampa 3 song rain out concert. Anyway their live performances were much more raw and wild than the studio version of songs. Not as layered as neither JPJ or Jimmy could play more than one instrument at a time. I love both the live and studio versions of their songs.

Madison Square Garden performances but there is three different versions when you watch those videos because they played three nights and they snip here and they cut there, if you want to listen to the song remains the same studio version is the way to go first.

The band actually only had a couple of weeks to prepare for this concert. In an old interview John, JPJ, Robert,Jimmy said 90% of the concert was just plain improvisation and pure chemistry among them. Another great group of brothers influenced by Jimi in the 80s. The band was Living Color and the song was “Cult of Personality”. Vernon Reed (sp) tore it up on lead guitar. The lead singer was very charismatic! If you can get their appearance on Arsenio Hall Show, you will slay your competition! You guys have given me much and I want to return the favor. I'd say "No Quarter" is actually better than the studio, especially Bonham's drumming and Page's soloing. "Rain" is gorgeous and powerful AF, but lacks the gentleness of the acoustic guitar and lovely tinkling of the piano keys. But JPJ's on the mellotron, and it it still SOARS, lol, and when Bonham's drums kick in, oh, Mercy!

I played the movie on mess decks of the USS Vincennes (CG-49) while underway off the coast of Japan to a crew mixed with every race, creed and age group. At first I got nothing but boo’s but by the end everyone was cheering. A great time at sea. 🫡🇺🇸
