Page has always been my favorite guitar player. His technical ability, along with his ability to write songs using a variety of palates and musical landscapes is second to none. There may be more technically proficient players, but his feel and emotive elements are unique and singular. Throw in the other three musicians, and the whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts. Something truly magical happened when these guys got together, and they all felt it the first jam at Jimmy's house. "We were the best bloody band in the world" JPJ.

You are so right on, so many people say or think Zep is a heavy metal band! How insulting, they are nothing of the kind. They are a blues band with a very heavy style but they also perform many other types of music. Just look at Zep 3 or In through the Outdoor! Nothing heavy metal about those albums! Page's guitar work on The Rain Song is absolutely tremendous! George Harrison remarked to the band after being invited to a Zep show in Los Angeles that they don't play any ballads. Page and the boys decided to show good old George that they could fucking play anything and make it Epic! I love Physical Grafitti and Zep 1 but man, The Rain Song is just out of this world!!! The House's of The Holy album also has No Quarter which is also tremendous and I wouldn't say a ballad but it should silence any critics about LZ ability to play any style and hit it out of the park! What a fucking band!!!!

Thank you again friend for requesting this live album. :) I could not wait for them to get to Zep's live material. I know you had discussed finding a link for the boys, the original 1976 album, and I shared with you the original No Quarter and Whole Lotta Love with a playlist link, when we had our comment chat. But I could not find the entire 1976 original album when we were chatting, but today, I found it. Someone uploaded it to KZread on January 13th and I made a playlist of both disc one and disc 2, all 4 sides of the 1976 album. I was surprised your link included Black Dog, since that was not on the original 76 release. Check out this playlist I just made for the 1976 album, including the entire No Quarter Page solo and the Whole Lotta Love funk section. As you know, a fan of the original 76 album, Dazed and Confused runs just under 27 minutes and is not as long as the remaster, which is the downside, but it is the original real deal. Here it is for you to enjoy and if you want to share it with the boys: kzread.info/head/PLKu0wKWyfNN458jTXILksJ_1miaeH2GqT&si=DmGNcK3_IivxYmFg

@@membysteph64 Awesome! I look forward to it too!! Since I've Been Loving You was not released on the original 1976 album, just like Black Dog was not. When you requested the original album release, I thought that is what you meant. But now I am super excited your link will include more songs than the original release, including Since I've Been Loving You. Did you send them the release that has all the missing songs from the film, including Over the Hills and Far Away, Misty Mountain Hop and The Ocean? That would be awesome too! Only knock I have with the remasters is the missing extended Page solo on No Quarter and the funk section in Whole Lotta Love and a small portion of Pages solo missing on Celebration Day. Anyway, enjoy my playlist link for your own listening pleasure! :) And Let's go La and Che spinning the Live Zep tunes! :)

The only reason Page could stop playing rhythm and go on these torrid solos was because of the bass in the hands of JPJ. Most other bands would fall apart without the rhythm guitar, but in Zep Jones and Bonham keep it together because they are so good.

It's near impossible to convey how hard this album - the original studio record, variously 'Led Zeppelin IV', 'Zoso', or the "rune album - hit us when it came out. The lurching, staggering grooves perfectly executed, the sheer abandon of the "jam" vehicles, the impeccable songcraft and musicianship, every element a "state of the art" triumph and lesson. Wow. The original film version was this shortened version, then I think when "DVD" came out it included the full version of Black Dog, but here with the album we're back to the shorter one. And it may well be there is a re-released/updated album version with the full BD and "Over the hills" and "MM Hop" and so forth. I'm not familiar enough with it to know. In any case, a shame they missed out on full BD here...

Page is Page and his style is sick. great writing, multiple parts, versatility, dirty and clean. Also, you got to figure their recordings have so many overlays, which they were the masters of, it would be pretty tough to replicate exactly, but just them jamming is so good.

Also what i love about these guys is that they recognize JPJ being Led Zeppelin's multi purpose instrumentalist, phenomenal bass player and the member who deserves just as much recognition as Page,Plant and Bonzo! ! Without JPJ they would have not been the same band. If ever there were a band with 4 equal parts where no member had to carry or cover for another member, these guys are it!!! They set the bar 56 years ago and to this day, no one has come close!!! Bonzos bass drum? In a marching band pick out the biggest around bass drum, that is how big Bonzos bass drums were. That and the way he tuned them was the key.

Dazed And Confused. As a teenage addicted drummer, had to memorize this. JPJ just kills it. Following Page. Creative, spontaneous. Sadly, it doesn't exist anymore.

This is so awesome guys, I mentioned in a post several months ago that I hoped you would play this album thanks so much ! I love this and presence which are my two favorite Zep albums mostly because how creative they are and that they weren’t repeatedly played on fm stations! These guys are so badass and so are you two 😇

My original version of the Song Remains the Same did not have Black Dog on it. What gives Laa and Chee? It was on the movie, but not the record. I think it says it’s the soundtrack from the movie, not the official album release.

You have No idea what you opened with this album. Please be patient, the songs are long, but Brilliant. When I bought the album it's a double album. Dazed and Confused is a whole side of a record. Same with the double cassettes. Dazed and Confused is one whole side of the cassette.
