    i bought the same taillight for my ninja 300 and wired a male connecter onto it the same as you did only mine came with a Red,Blue and green wire into the connecter and i saw yours was a Blue,Black and Yellow i also have 4 extra wires not in the connecter and the are 2 Yellow and 2 Black do you know why mine has different couloured wiring? does it mattrer that there different? because the taillight will not turn on

  • @ArkaRoy

    @ArkaRoy

    4 extra wires are for indicator. 2 Yellow will connect to positive point of the indicator wire & 2 black will connect to the negative or the common of the indicator wire. Hence the 4 extra wires are justified for the indicator connection. Now different colours don't matter as u need to attach the male connector to the female one of your bike. Hence, different coloured wire doesn't mean it won't work. U just need to connect the male coupler to the female one & connect the indicator wires as I said. All will b good to go... Let me know if this helps u...

    Yes. U can. But for that u need to change the led from Blue to Green. That's a tricky job. But not impossible to do.

    its very good video with good explantion as well. I connected the tail light like you did. But one problem I couldnt fixed. Turning signals are not flashing. They are turning on but not flashing

  • @ArkaRoy

    The reason is that, your turn Indicators are bulb type. So, they will pass more current. As the filament in the indicator bulb needs more current to glow, whereas Diod in LED needs least current to glow. As a result of excessive current to the led indicator integrated in the backlight, it is hyper-flashing and in bare eyes it seems like not flashing. But it is flashing, but so rapidly that human eyes can't capture it. You need slo-mo camera with FPS as high as 10000. Then u can see the flashing. For this, there are two options: 1. Convert all the 4 filament type indicator bulbs to led bulbs and change the flasher to a new flasher which is compatible for led lights. This method will use less watt and would enhance the battery life of your motorcycle. 2. Connect a resistor in the positive line of the led indicator of the backlight. This will resist the heavy current and will output lesser current which will be suitable for the led indicators to glow. But remember, here you're not saving power, but increasing it. 😊 If this reply seems complex, feel free to reply. I'll try to re-answer with even simple terms. Thanks in advance.

    @@ArkaRoy hey thanks for your video, very helpful. So in order to do option 1, how do I change the 2 front turn signals to LED? do I replace the whole signal or is there a cheaper way to change the bulb only? Not the smartest question haha sorry I just dont fully get what i need to buy. I was hoping I would only need to change the relay, but you're saying I need to change the front turn signals too so that they're LED?

  • @ArkaRoy

    @ArkaRoy

    @@justindtt hi brother. Thanks for your lengthy query. I love to answer longer queries than shorter ones. Anyway, you need to change front 2 bulbs to led, rear 2 bulbs to led. Then relay to led compatible one. Only then the integrated led in the taillight will work. Bcz try to understand one thing, you want to turn the integrated leds on. SO, for that, u need led compatible relay or flasher, led lights in all 4 position 2 in front 2 at rear. Then all will work properly. Now if you ask me smarter way, I'll suggest you not to use the integrated led as turn signal indicators. Bcz they are so dull that u won't see it from 6AM to 6PM. After 6PM it is visible. I believe till 10PM you'll ride daily. Post that, you'll park ur Motorcycle inside garage. So, basically the use of this Integrated leds are for few hours. 😊😀 Better to attach the integrated indicator wires to the taillight connector, not the brake light connector. It will then be turned on as Always On Light along with the red strip. It will benefit u by enhancing the visibility of the taillight anytime, bcz the red led strip that acts as a taillight has also very poor visibility. So, the red strip and yellow integrated leds together will enhance the taillight visibility especially during daytime. Then you don't need to change the stock turn signal setup i.e. bulb type 4 indicators and the stock relay or flasher. Besides, if you turn on the integrated led indicators, along with motorcycle's native indicators, they are hardly visibile. It looks like the integrated leds are actually the glowing effect of the stock light. So, what's the point doing all the conversion which won't even have its own identity? So, smarter way is to connect the integrated indicator wires to the taillight connector. That's all. If you need further help, feel free to put your comments below

  • @ArkaRoy

    @ArkaRoy

    Yes. That's the 1st thing u need to do. If u Instal LED indicators then u must change the flasher to LED compatible one. Then the flashing frequency will be normal. Otherwise it will hyper blink.

  • @ArkaRoy

    Isn't the connector already connected with the wires? At least in my case, it was connected and I just plugged it and played it. There is no need to check which wire goes where. But still if u can't figure out, then u have to manually check each wire by supplying external power. Take help of Kawasaki Technician. They may guide u on this as well.

    I can't guarantee you about *best* video. But I can guarantee you on *best* comment supports. I love to interact. That's the main thing. Now coming to the point. I'm 50% satisfied at day time, bcz under sunlight the visibility of tail light, blue DRL & integrated indicator lights are poor. But I'm Satisfied 100% during night bcz at night the tail lamp converts the overall look of the bike into the more Premium & unique style. Now, I didn't mention about stop light visibility in day. The reason is the stop light or the brake light is always visibilie. That's what will save you from getting hit from backside traffic. 😃😃 You can upgrade the tail light to this one, but keep in mind the visibility in daytime. But the main advantage is electrically. It consumes less watt than the stock halogen setup. So, yes, you can upgrade to this anytime.
