A HUGE difference between the 80's & 90's is the loyalty and dedication to their teams! They didn't bounce from team to team (unless they were traded, which was out of their control). Today's overpaid brats in the NBA bounce from team to team to try to collect rings. NO LOYALTY to anyone but the love of themselves. Overrated LaBron wouldn't have been able to play in the 80s - he's too much of a baby. But if he was around in the 80s, Bird would have destroyed him.

@brianharron3435 and he still couldn't beat birds Celtics. Even when Jordan dropped 63 points on bird they got swept. Because it's a team game and Larry didn't care about personal stats like today's player. He filled whatever hole needed to be filled for the W. Thats how Magic was too. When Larry was one steal away from a quadruple double and was sitting out the fourth quarter his coach asked him if he wanted to go back in and he was like nah. His teammates kept saying come on man go back in and make history he told him to shut the f up he don't care about that type of stuff. Different breed man. Today's player is just a solo act who's going to cry over spilled milk.

Ive never seen somebody improve as a player significantly during their time playingg with Lebron. What's crazy is even if he felt he was. When Jordan was asked if he was the goat. He gave honor and said that each area was different and he didn't get a chance to play against wilt,Russell, and other greats before him. Even if he felt that he was . He humbled himself. But LeBron declared himself the goat. But he's a great player. But he's not Jordan. And its not just because of the 6 rings that Jordan has. But even when he didn't have a great supporting team he stayed and grinded it out. And he was never accused of taking steroids. Or known for flopping so much. But only known as a killer on both sides of the court. And not a ring ,or stat chaser.

I’ve seen both Jordan and lebron play for me Michael is the goat mainly because he put in the work was both offensive and defensive every year he played. Lebron has been both offensive and defensive however I feel the reason I don’t hold Lebron to the same regard as Jordan is that Lebron doesn’t play 80 to 82 games every season since he started I think the only reason Lebron has this longevity because he doesn’t play up to 80 games every season. I think he plays about 50 games a season now that’s about 61% of his games played a season MJ played 11 80 game seasons and 9 82 game seasons plus the defense is a lot weaker now then in 90’s early 2000’s. I feel that if Lebron had gone to college, and had a coach really teach him then I don’t think he’s sitting out 29% of the year because he would have that same drive as Jordan. Plus he would have known what it meant to play with the Same people every year and stay with Cleveland and not move around and make these super teams because that’s why the east was so weak.

LeBron James in his 20 years career played all 82 games only once!!! + The effort in the game in Michael Jordan's era was much greater! Because they played defence!!! An other thing in that LeBron James spends lots of money for his body with today's scientific improvement! And Michael Jordan was playing cards, drinking wine etc playing golf ⛳ and still destroy everyone on the court!😅😂😄😄🤣🤣😆

I dig your argument of MJ being 6 for 15, and LeBron being 4 for 20. That's a fair comparison, especially since LeBron stans tend to push individual stats over winning championships. There are plenty of incredible players throughout history with great stats but not many championships, so we don't talk about them as much. The same will happen with LeBron in the end if he can't clinch at least one more championship. "You play to win the game". Individual stats meant little to MJ. Scoring 63 against Boston meant nothing to him because they still lost the game. That's what i also subscribe to. The Lakers losing the game, but hearing LeBron say "I scored this and did my part" has me shaking my head. Your contribution didn't matter if an L was the end result.

I’d take Bird, Lebron lacks the killer instinct. He’s no Jordan either. He’s played 7 more years than Jordan but still hasn’t accomplished what Jordan accomplished. The main thing Lebron has going for him is longevity and although being the leading scorer is a huge achievement that record will be broken by the next great player that plays for 20 years. And as far as waiting 30 years to get a different perspective on Jordan, keep in mind Babe Ruth is still considered the greatest by most after 100 years, if anything I think it’s Lebrons stature that will fade not Jordan’s

Make no mistake: LBJ is absolutely a legend, just like MJ, just like Bird. At this point (and in the future) greatness won’t be determined by stats. This comes down to basketball CHARACTER. Where MJ and Bird stand out is… they were assassins. NO ONE… and I mean NO.DAMN.ONE would pick LBJ over Bird or MJ when a season or a championship is on the line. And between Bird and MJ? You’re picking Bird unless you’re an idiot. MJ is still the goat, individually. Bird built dynasties… he chose winning over personal accolades. LBJ is a great player and deserves his honors. But no way in hell could he combat either Bird’s psychological warfare or MJ’s absolute scoring majesty. It’s not even a debate. But no one should sh*t on LeBron. He did his time.

I haven't watched the NBA in a long time. Since the slightest touch, you get a foul. It's not the man's game it used to be. There are no fights, they shoot from afar. They just killed the sport. I've seen all three live. Let me tell you this. Both MJ and Larry would dominate today's sport. LeBron is good, but not by the standards of 70-80 and 90. For me, MJ is The GOAT. And believe me LeBron can't do anything to steal that title. He should win at least 4 more championships and a bunch of other accolades. But above all, it must be persistent. constantly win, Which as you know does not happen. LeBron just doesn't have that killer instinct that MJ and Larry had.

Larry Bird is the GOAT. Not MJ. And the following is true about Larry Bird. Larry birds timeframe played 13 seasons in the NBA and what is impressive Larry missed nearly an entire season for bone spurs in his heels and played just 105 games in his last two campaigns due to his bad back. Those last two NBA seasons, 1990-91 and 91-92, were painful to watch, as Bird had to lie on the floor at times to ease the tension on his aching back. Years later, doctors explained the lengths they had to go to just to get Larry Legend on the court, and after hearing that, you won’t believe just how painful the whole situation was for him. Larry Bird infamously hurt his back doing something perfectly on-brand for the humble Celtics superstar, building a driveway for his mother by himself in 1985. And while the back injury affected him for the last seven seasons of his career, it truly became a problem starting in 1988. By the 1990s, Bird “had lost the structural stability of his spine,” according to his orthopedic therapist, Dan Dyrek. “It would slip into abnormal positions to try and lock itself to get an artificial stability.” The pain for the Celtics star was intense. Dyrek compares his spinal issues to “getting your finger stuck in a door, and somebody’s still pushing on the door.” Despite the pain, Bird did whatever he could to play, even while wondering whether he was doing long-term damage that would affect his quality of life in retirement. But he did it because, as he learned from his father years before, “If you get paid to go to work, you gotta go to work.” So, during the last two years of Bird’s career, Dyrek and his counterparts would go to extreme measures to get Bird on the court. “What we had to do was unlock his spine, realign it, [and] do techniques that would hold that for four hours, six hours, that type of thing, and then he’d go play basketball,” Dyrek explained. And while Larry Bird now admits he “probably should have retired in ’88, ’89,” he says the competition and hopes of one more NBA Finals showdown with Magic Johnson kept him going. www.sportscasting.com/larry-bird-doctors-unlock-spine-before-games-end-career/ and Larry Bird injured his shooting hand in a bar fight during the 1985 Eastern Conference Finals www.sportscasting.com/larry-bird-involvement-bar-fight-cost-celtics-1985-nba-finals/ which shows how much heart, love and dedication Larry had for the game. And There will never ever be a player like Larry Bird again. What an insult to Larry bird, His legacy, His accomplishments and the pain he endured and still did all that he did. How a person handles Adversity and other intangibles are part of what makes greatness. And watch these two video's kzread.info/dash/bejne/gJmbtqOBebqsZ5M.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/nYyCrtaRhbe4ibw.html

I beleive Jordans skills and his fundamentals is what propelled him to Goat status rather than his sheer athletisim. Yes his athletic years were the most exciting, but his shooting and skill is what put him over the top. The perfect mix of both skill and athletisim in my opinion. And i appreciate how you look at the accolade comparisons and logically see a difference without trying to form an excuse. Thats really what it should come down to when combining everything together from stats, accolades and impact, and the eye test. Also lebron just passed Jordan in Offensive rebounds.

The media has been jock riding him from the word go. Bron got media hype. Bird hyped the media.
