You are spot on about Bird and his movement without the ball. Bird never stopped working and hustling. Bird very often just wore the other defender out during the course of the game. Bird had great stamina and endurance. Check out game 5 of the 1984 finals in Boston where it was 97 degrees inside at game time. Bird shot 15 of 20 for 34 points and grabbed 17 rebounds as Boston won game 5 and took control of that Finals.

The clip with Reggie is longer and they give age thirty for both LeBron and Bird. Bird's stats were definitely better.

AND the era ... 😏 ..is just sadly incompatible .. I could write a book on it . It would be astounding to most people to realize how different the eras are .. what theyre playing now isnt even real basketball. 😑 So sad how ignorant not only young people are .. but even people that are older THAT EVEN PLAYED.

Everyone says in their reactions LB was slow? But, in reality everyone else was obviously slower. Players today are great but, don’t have as much heart or ambition period.

Do yourself a favor and check out not only Andrew Toney, but the team that he played for. The 1983 Philadelphia 76ers were a great, great team. They won the NBA championship that year beating both the Celtics and the Lakers along the way. Toney was a scoring monster in his prime, his career was cut short because of injuries, but that man was cold.

Even when deflecting like Charles do here, I still think here being more honest than moat other. Admitting someone else is better or even might be better is something very few of these top level athlete want to do. Even if they know the truth in their heart, their competitive drive barrs them from saying it out loud. Charles knows... And he know we know. And I think hes trying to be honest about it, it just gets stuck on the way out. 🤣🤣🤣

Try to watch some Wilt video.... #1 Wilt #2 MJ #3 Larry after that who cares. 10 years from now you may have Curry who has changed the way the game is today. Best shooter ever.

Definitely do Toney. He torched Bird's Celtics at will. Ainge said Toney was the only player he feared. I would put him up there with Bird, Jordan, Kobe for taking the last shot. He punished whole teams. One of those forgotten guys, like Bernard King, who was a killer.
