Did the thief have time to come down and get baptize? No. Baptism is an outward showing that you have decided to follow Jesus Christ, it is a symbol of being washed of your sins and born again a new person, but it is not a prerequisite to Salvation. She’s publicly denounced her former image, and in my opinion, it’s not for anyone to sit on the sidelines and judge whether she is authentic or not. Because her level of authenticity in these changes is really between her and the universe (sorry I’m spiritual but not religious), and change is a journey that doesn’t necessarily run from stereotype to stereotype. It’s a process, and personally, I would never judge someone who was willing to at least begin that process.

I think the average career in the adult industry was very fleeting. People would assert that the people in the industry would use substances to numb themselves and claim that a lot of the women had been abused (I don't know if there are stats). With OF girls, they 'retire' and just disappear. They don't get an exit interview. Maybe some of them just find the money didn't come. Others made a decent living, one supposes, but maybe decided to settle down or decided it has some sort of cost they didn't like. If they don't speak out on why they leave, then the remaining voices would presumably be the women saying 'this is great' even if they're saying that with a smile that reads more as a wince. It's difficult to dismiss a woman who left as a prude. And in a lot of cases, people propose that the only reason you wouldn't do it is neurotic shame (because it's sooooooo affirming and has no victims). With Knowles, I had thought he had been on a podcast with her. So giving her further attention would be consistent with caring for a human being who he had met. Beyond that, people think the message is important.

The other thing not really said clearly in the story of the Prodigal Son is that the Prodigal son GOT his inheritance He wasn't going to get anything when his father died. The other son who stayed with his father and grew the business was going to reap the rewards of staying and helping. I'm sure he learned much from his father that his brother couldn't bc he had left. The Prodigal Son was given a place back in the family and his return was welcomed when it was not societal custom to do so. He was promised to have a place in the family instead of being treated like the destitute beggar he had become His older brother felt like his dedication was being ignored but truly in the end it was not. Bc the older brother was still in line for his inheritance and it would be far greater than his younger brother bx the value would be much higher than when the younger brother had cashed out years earlier It's easier to miss these parts bc the focus is on accepting back the lost sinner. That doesn't mean those who stayed the course and kept building have lost out. If you stay the course and keep building the kingdom your efforts won't go unnoticed and your rewards are greater for your faithfulness But if you fall along the way you know you won't be left behind either as long as you crawl back on the path

Nala DID try to delete her Only Friends account, except the delay in deactivation or removal is due to their policy - and she did respond to those questioning her about that. So at least she has been doing something about it, adding to the genuineness of her conversion. Too many people are calling out the specks in her eye while having big ol' planks in their own. This may be a grift, I do understand why people would think that. However, people are capable of change. We do grow as human beings, or at least most of us do. Whether one is religious or not, redemption is possible. As for the celebrities and pop stars mocking Christianity, I personally see it as nothing more than a gimmick meant to stir up controversy & sell records/products. That, or it is being used as yet another way to distract us from things we should have our attention on. However, I do find it to be a very strange choice, both with the industry pushing it & the performers, who are capable of saying no. We do not see them mocking any other religion, and let's be real if they did mock Islam there would be quite a stir.

I don't take the red hair and makeup as proof she is fake, I actually think she is using the "Nala" name and makeup/hair to talk about leaving this behind so she can later return to less makeup, natural hair colour, her legal/Christian name so that she and her husband and any future kids aren't associated with Pornography

As a Christian myself, I am super excited and happy for her. The whole Gospel story is about redemption. To question someone else's transformation after finding faith in Christ is EXTREMELY UNCHRISTLIKE. Christians should be encouraging people like Nala and welcoming her in with open arms, not criticizing her for her past. Even if she is lying (and I seriously doubt it, because she is giving up a LOT), Christians should be the first group of people to welcome her and show her love. There is redemption, love, joy, peace, and forgiveness for all of us found at the foot of the cross. Also, the ONLY unforgiveable sin according to the Bible is rejecting/"mocking" the Holy Spirit. If God can forgive Nala for her sins against him, so can I forgive her for her sins against society.

I think that Andrew Wilson fella made some good points about Nala when he said if she was a pastor's daughter, she probably already was baptized, so why did she need to get baptized again? I'm a lapsed Catholic, so I'm not sure if the same applies to other denominations, but I thought you have to go to confession, perform a penance, and then be able to take Communion. And he said she had her second baptism at some celebrity church where they have cameras filming her baptism...seems a little disingenuous on her part, but maybe it's just her generation's addiction to social media.

My church quite frequently film baptisms. From what I know some people who fall away from God go back and get re-saved and or rebaptised. If you do it as a kid sometimes you don’t fully know what it means or you arnt fully committed. I’m sorry if this seems rude I’m just trying to explain from a nondenominational standpoint

If her repentance is actually genuine she needs to nuke her entire online presence. No social media, no interviews, no nothing. This interview circuit she’s doing is just furthering the impression certain people have of her being a grifter, even if that isn’t the case.

We Christians do need to forgive others for their wrongs. Its also not our job to judge and condemn others; that's what God does. I hope Nala has truly given herself to Christ. ... but the Bible does say we should be discerning of those around us. We need to watch out for pretenders and apostates among the flock; the people that seek to misguide or deceive members of the Church.

I disagree. The easy thing is to talk out of one side of your mouth, saying don’t do it, but still doing it. If she has truly changed her ways (which it may be too soon to say), it’s actually very difficult to come out and admit that you were wrong. She could have easily continued to make another $9 million doing what she was doing

@@_sowhat_ Is it the one true god calling to me, as described in specifically christianity, or the natural human desire to believe in a god that has called out to every civilization throughout history, in numerous complex religious systems completely incomparable to that of christianity? I personally believe it to be the latter, while I imagine you perceive otherwise. One way or another both of us will perceive each other to be misinformed and naive, and only one of us will be proven right, on the day that is our deaths. I hope, for my sake and for yours, that a god awaits us on the other side, but I can't in good consciousness put my honest belief into it knowing the context behind which all religions are formed.

My colleague (age 35) from work also just changed because of "he found god". Before, he was also very funny but taking drugs and was unloyal to his girlfriend and more "bad things" he hasn`t taken life seriously. But now he is married and works more on himself and his knowledge. He is so happy and as funny as before. Just good changes. Maybe Nalas story is real, she seemed so seriosly with her words and everybody can change his mindset. I don`t have a connection to god and can`t believe what`s going on with the happiness of people who follow god. But it`s so sweet to see hope in their eyes again.
