Just bought the Wave + at Home Depot today. Got it for $40 because the stock person put it in the wrong spot - definite win there! Love it! Been a Gerber guy for some time but the Leatherman is made to a finer quality. 5 stars!

Glad I was able to help! hard to go wrong with the Wave there is a reason it's been a best seller for so long. take it easy.

I have a Leatherman knifeless Rebar that I've belt worn everyday for years now. It's a great lightweight size & the saw is an amazing cutting tool. The handle edges are not rounded off like the Wave, so it's uncomfortable in my hand while using the pliers. My only other gripe with the Rebar is an open space in one side of the handle where one more tool could've been stored. (Leatherman needs to know that most people would pay a little more to have that vacant space filled with a useful tool!) I just ordered the Wave + to replace the Rebar as my new EDC. The rounded handles & the tiny screwdriver, items not on the Rebar, will be a nice upgrade. BTW, these are quality tools. I really had to crank on my little Rebar the other day to tighten a hose clamp, & it held up & got the job done. Also, the pipsqueak scissors really work; they're wonderful nose-hair trimmers😉.

In my personal opinion I think the Leatherman Wave plus is a incredibly beautiful tool. The only thing that I originally seriously really hated about the Leatherman Wave was the quote eyeglass screwdriver which in my humble opinion putting such a teeny tiny little thing on such a robust tool seem to be kind of a gimmick. Then I realized that even though some people may call it the eyeglass screwdriver in actuality most people probably won't use it for that purpose especially since your eyeglasses are incredibly valuable not necessarily money wise but just to be able to see so using such a heavy implement to work with seem to be kind of Overkill however I did quickly realize that this little screwdriver with the Flathead parts sticking out was by far one of the most underappreciated things on the multi-tool itself many of us use zip ties and from time to time we would really love to not cut our zip ties and lose them because they can be reused over and over that being said the little flat end for the eyeglass screwdriver is the absolute perfect tool to put in your zip tie to lift that little tooth up that locks it into place it freeze it up and it gives you the ability to build a retrieve your zip ties without cutting them and they can be reused over and over and over which is a incredibly handy thing to use if you don't believe me in this please give it a shot it works it may take just a couple of moments but with a little bit of practice within 10 seconds you can save your zip ties to me this is a very valuable product have on it the only weakest link for the Leatherman is quite honestly the scissors myself and many others have noticed that the little part that you put your thumb on to actually use the scissor to cut with does have a tendency of breaking which is problematic but other than that it is a excellent tool

The surge is awesome, especially if you’re a daily user. The wave is great for EDC to handle all those little things the come up that just take a few min.

You said the serrated edge on the Charge TTI was 154 cm. I don't know if that was true about the old Charge TTI, but I looked at the specs of the Charge + TTI on leatherman's webpage, it says the serrated edge is 420 HC.

Wow that black oxide really comes off on your hands. I ordered a full black wave plus and am looking forward to it. Ive seen some cleaning techniques to loosen up the movement and rid yourself of the excess oxide

yeah it really does I was a little surprised, I ended up using a silicone oil rag from my gun kit and that did the trick, the coating is pretty good, they just don't bother to clean off the excess. Thanks for watching!

Yes amazon does sell a lot of counterfeit items, however when you receive a leatherman from Amazon the warranty card says that netrush is leatherman's verified amazon dealer. So if you buy a leatherman on Amazon make sure it is being sold by netrush!

I agree, I was actually pretty happy with my old wave even though it didn't have the removable wire cutters. when they came out with this two tone version I woke down and got one :) Thanks for watching!

I just got the wave plus,I’ve been using the wingman,and love it. Few things I don’t like about the wave plus. 1) it’s not comfortable in the hand when closed. The 2 knives being higher than the body,is annoying,and uncomfortable. And 2) when using the pliers,when i use my middle finger to open it (cause it’s not spring loaded) my finger rubs right across the top of the lock ridges,which doesn’t feel very good. The tool is solid tho,just wish it wasn’t so sharp feeling when closed

I feel you man. I own and use the Wingman for 5 years+ does the job pretty well. But my work needs got bigger and I was interested to get Wave+ so I could get more out of the tools provided. Bang on tools and all. But. As you said it's not spring loaded and becomes uncomfortable in the hand without that feature... Sadly I decided not to buy the Wave+ and stick with my old reliable Wingman and pair it with a Victorinox. What a hartache it is not having spring loaded versions :(

The tiny screwdriver is also for fixing our RC cars

The eye glass is a waste of space, scissors are small, other than that Leatherman is a good multitool. I'm thinking of getting the GOAT multitool

I've actually used those eyeglass drivers a lot. mainly sight in rifle scopes and to open battery doors that have that annoying little screw holding them down. it's perfect for that. It's not the most used item but I don't have a lot of small screwdrivers in my tool box so it comes in clutch.

LoI never heard of Paracord before watching EDC videos and I'm in my late 30s.

Don't get me wrong Leatherman makes a good profit, but their business model isn't set up as a low cost provider either. I try to support American companies when I can

@@azlienor6435 Black Oxide isn't normally a coating you find on cookware. if you wipe the loose oxide off and are just using it when you are camping it would probably be ok but I don't know what type of toxicology long term exposure would have. If you are going to do food prep I'd probably grab the uncoated version.

@@gearsNtools yes the wave felt a little too small and petite for my liking and comfort, the surge in my opinion should always be the go to if your willing to spend that little more extra money (which was next to nothing really, only $45 extra over the wave here in Australia)

I actually wish the surge got rid of of the damn flatheads and put that microdriver in. Downfall to the surge is that they gave you 3 flatheads or 2 prytools for no reason when they could of added something else

Mainly the plus has removable hard wire cutters and the original doesn’t. I would say the sheath has been Improved as well, but that’s a minor thing. It’s an iteration on their previous version. Think of it like iPhone 10 vs iPhone 11 both are great but if you’re in the market for a new multi tool you’ll want to get the one with the updated design.

Just got mine today! Was wondering why mine had so many fingerprints on it for being fresh out of the box but it looks like yours does too. I was worried I paid a new price for something I thought was used.

yeah there is always some loose black oxide on the leatherman but it cleans up pretty well.

My new Wave+ arrived from Amazon a couple days ago. The box it came in was a little beat up, but the plastic round seal was not tampered with. Taking the tool out, I too noticed some vague dirt, oil & light finger prints. It didn't bother me though, since these tools are both machine & hand made. Otherwise, it's well-built & feels like QUALITY in my hand. (The Wave+ is replacing my Rebar, & what difference in the feel of these two! The Wave is thought out so much better than the Rebar. I'm super happy with this EDC upgrade.)

I would recommend stopping down the aperture and turning off the auto focus of your camera.

It will slowly turn dark grey over about a year and then maintain that dark grey nearly black color for years to come.

It won’t chip but it will rub off. Gets all over your hands. Rather annoying if you ask me.

You are correct, the plain edge is S30V which is a better steel, still pretty expensive considering Wave can do all the same things! Thanks for watching!

Belt loop is on the sheath. You can buy a pocket clip seperately

Yeah I've had some issues with Amazon, especially with Electronics. I make sure any tool I buy on Amazon is from the actual Official Leatherman Seller. Amazon needs to get the counterfeit problem under control. I only buy electronics from Best Buy or direct from the OEM now.

Glad it's made in US. Sorry to see the holder is made in China.
