Leatherman Wave PLUS VS. Leatherman Wave | Review and comparison
Check it out for yourself: www.knifedepot.com.au/product...
The Leatherman Wave Plus is the latest version on the famous Leatherman Wave. With a few additions to the tool including glasses screwdriver and removable wire cutters the new wave is a great improvement on the older famous wave. The removable wire cutters are great for people who a heavy on the pliers and cutters and can be replaced easily. The Wave plus now comes with the new designed Leatherman sheath which has a new quick opening button design. The sheath also can hold a small torch if needed.

I bought one of these about a month ago. Its silver like yours but has black blades and tools. Its pretty good although I was disappointed that yhe plier teeth have already chipped so easily.
but the new wave plus pliers with a replaceable wire cutter is weaker than the old wave
The double ended screwdriver bit is NOT held in place by the lock. It’s held in place by a small spring inside the bit holder.

Hahahhaah literally was trying out the same thing as i was watching the video! Gotta love these man! The best tool ever
So you don't get leather case anymore?
Thanks for share.
The wave is a great little tool, very fond of it but the key word here is “little”… don’t muck about, get the surge! 👍
Does that one not have a saw on the outside of the tool.

Both do
I guess you didn’t notice, but there’s another difference you didn’t mention. The wave + also has a crimping tool on the back side of the pliers.
Great review. I now have new and old. Theyre incredible quality tools....

Yes they are!
Does anyone know if the knife blade from the new wave and old wave are interchangeable?

It should be. I warrantied my leatherman wave and looks like they replaced it with parts from a wave plus when I compared it to my New Wave Plus I have
My pliers are locked in the open position - neither side will fold back into the handle. What is the solution, please?

Oil it

@@carloslara7452 Ballistol, mineral oil, silicone lubricant, WD-40 all used. The HINGES are too tight. After two days of breaking it in, one side of the pliers became totally wedged against the Philips screw and the adjacent tool. I GAVE UP and I'm sending it back to the seller - I don't need this aggravation - 77 years without having to "break-in" ANY tool - I don't need to put up with this.
I open the knife and it opens the file with it does anyone know why this is?

It sounds like it’s been put back together incorrectly and/or the pivot is too tight. Have you dismantled it at any time?
Bloody hell. Who uses flat head screwdrivers? Who wants a pocket screwdriver specifically for reading glasses? They are really designing this for an older demographic. Who needs small scissors when it's a knife? I was thinking of getting one of these, but it's literally a pensioners survival tool. Bottle opener? Like you'd need a dedicated bottle opener if you have a knife; what a waste of space. Philips screwdriver which is barely used outside of the US (everywhere uses Pozi or Torx)? Edit: Even the Leatherman itself uses Torx screws! Just so frustrating that such a well made product which looks and feels amazing, is so far behind the times.
Wave+ vs dedicated folding knife which one do you prefer ? for bushcraft or hardcore camping i wish wave+ knife blade was more thicker & robust solid for extreme use.

Hi CoffeeTruck, for bushcraft, I would definitely recommend a stand-alone knife, but the wave is a great all-rounder, if you need to do a bit more than just bushcraft.
the 2 are the same size
You forgot the wood saw blade btw. Also, regarding using the wire cutters so much - I think at that point you're better off just packing a dedicated wire cutting tool with you. There's a reason the saying goes "Jack of all trades but master of none". If you're buying a Leatherman to do only 1 specific job and do it hard core - you're doing it wrong. 😉
blurrrrrrrrrr
Not a great recommendation when you need to use a separate screw driver to open the tools on your multi tool that is fundamentally intended to obviate the need for other tools. Ironic don’t you think? See 7:07 and 7:18.

Maybe it is not the easiest thing in the world, provided that you have short nails and the tool is new, but it is absolutely not difficult to the point that you need a screwdriver.
Out of focus!
