    I genuinely don't mean this as a snarky comment but it's refreshing seeing a KZread guitarist not playing perfectly for a change. Like we know you're a good guitarist Fluff, but you showed yourself learning something you couldn't just nail first time and stumble around a new scale. It's like a hot Instagram model showing herself without makeup. Reminds us all that practice makes perfect and everyone has to practice, even the KZreadrs you follow

    Nowadays, learning how to play the guitar can't be easier. Stuff like this or Rocksmith just helps a lot. @@jfar3340 Yes you learn patterns and how things sound on guitar. If you just play like guitar hero you just play very difficulty game but if you apply this to record or even just play alone without game you cane become musican. And what diffrent makes if you learn patterns and shapes from video game or from teacher/tabs etc

    I can't recall where I previously saw this, but the idea of it being re-usable, or sturdy enough for removing/adding multiple times seemed to be a concern with the LED strips. It looks like one accidental pull could rip the black adhesive part. Maybe the material is tough but flexible, but for 200 bucks, if you tried to remove it and it broke, that'd be a bad thing for sure.

  • @FretZealot

    @FretZealot

    4 жыл бұрын

    It is indeed a one-time installation, but it's solid as, well, your guitar neck once it's on. We sell individual LED strips so you don't have to buy the entire product again if you want to add it to a new / additional guitar.

    Everything above the 12th fret is exactly the same as if continuing from the first. The 13th fret is the same as the 1st fret, 14th fret is the same as the 2nd etc. but I get what you mean, if you're just learning guitar then not having LED strips above the 12th would be very discouraging.

    I remember seeing this and thinking “Man, imagine if there was a guitar that lit up like this via MIDI so that you could have an accurate map for something YOU wrote.” Funny what music products stick in the memory, and what don’t. Line 6 also put out an idea similar to this, but as a whole-ass and TERRIBLE guitar. Nowadays, seemed this concept as a whole has been quietly retired.

    After seeing reviews, I decided to get one. Got about a month ago. Worth the money for sure. Was able to learn a few songs much faster than the old fashioned way. It does everything as advertised. However, I'm currently on chat with Musicians Friend because the A flat line of lights went out along with a few other random ones. Tried everything...different scales...songs...chromatic scales etc...those lights stopped functioning. I'm on chat hold right now with Musician's friend. Explained and he said he's "going to see if there's anything he can do" I hope there is because this is a good tool I wish I had back in 1985. I'll add to this when I get info from Musician's friend.

    That was not a Harmonic Minor scale, and you even had lights on the fretboard to indicate where the notes are. Plus, you were sliding up to notes as opposed to fretting the notes. Also, everyone should learn songs/riffs by using their ear when starting out. That’s how you develop your ear for notes, pitch, frequencies, etc.

The guitar industry needs serious help and we believe Fret Zealot can distinctly help keep players and get new ones. Everybody wins!
