    Just going based on his tone, he’s obviously a jazz cat. Which means he has a lot of experience with difficult chord shapes and identifying them. It’s completely possible to be this quick learning by ear. This is why theory is so important to know, it helps a ton when it comes to learning things by ear

    @@phannathornkoabkaew oh I do. I know enough to be aware that music theory isn't a magic phlebotinum that grants you the ability to earplay complicated music easily. For piano it's possible, but for guitar, you still have to learn the picking techniques and the left hand positions to play it correctly. So no, this is not possible to learn in under 60 seconds. Try harder next time.

    I think most of the comments here lack insight. As someone with a music degree, my opinion is that this is impressive, but not extremely difficult for a trained musician. For all I know it could be fake, as a lot of videos are, but I don't see the need to jump to that conclusions

    And this part he played was just moving shapes which you can easily hear if u play for a long time, melodies was easy between shapes, u can see he tried like three different ways how to slide those, just grap your guitar and go learn somg by ear haha, and he played a lot based on how quick he grap those shapes, it doesnt matter if u know the song or not 🤟

    as a guitarist i can guarantee you its pre rehearsed. the way he faked by try to figure out the chord progression but he already played the first melody correctly it showed how fake this video can be. its much easier to learn chord progression by ear immediately instead of melody.

At the start of the video you can see him finding the single note melody and then finding triads to fit it, and then turning those triads into full barre chords. He's also not playing it exactly like the song just 'close enough' to it, so idk I believe it's real

    Yeah I’m going to have to say this one was the least convincing. Just listen to 0:21 a few times, he begins playing the matching chord literally before the I recorded chord has finished being played.

    wdym, the song is in c sharp standard so usually it starts around the ninth fret. But in the video the guy is starting near the 3rd fret. he is in standard tuning, not c sharp standard

    First you need to figure out the key and then chord progression,but you must know reharmonization to recognize the passing chords and then chord embellishments if needed,melody of the song.This is normal to a musician that has a lot of knowledge about music theory.

    he didn’t know it, after playing guitar for so long you know almost all of the notes and what they sound like (roughly) him playing random stuff at first is him trying to find the key of the song and it’s chords and once he figures it out he can start putting things together
