However, I would love to have acces to all the "Pilot's notes" Pages as .jpeg or .pdf files to integrate into a kneeboard, there are other around the internet, but yours are the most straight forward and up to date for all aircrafts. Do you have those files ? if yes, could you make them available? Otherwise I'll take screen grab of your videos, but that's going to be pretty time consuming xD

    Hello can you do a tutorial with the K-14 gunsight. I kinda get it but I'm sure you know more to it. I do better just turning it off using fixed reticle. Works ok for me when I adjust it to 300m and 30 for wing span. But farther out and closer than 300 it kinda gets in my way considering i cant adjust it on the fly as fast as irl given my key binds. Would like to hear your thoughts on it, how you use it, tips and tricks. Thanks

  • @RequiemsACTL

    I'll probably do one now because of two things. 1. The gyro sights account for gravity on bullet drop now so they'll be a little more accurate, and 2. With the new G effects there will probably be more inclination to use it... Once you start pulling enough Gs that reticule will disappear under the nose effectively rendering it useless, so with the new G effects you won't be pulling as much G all the time which should make the gyro sight a bit more useful. You really need to assign the range on an axis to get the most out a gyroscopic sight.

  • @RequiemsACTL

    @RequiemsACTL

    4 жыл бұрын

    I've never had a problem with starting the P51 up the way I've shown it here. The trick is to move it out of "IDLE" to the "RUN" (50%) position just as the engine starts firing up. That's the RL procedure and I always try to base my videos off the real thing where possible which future proofs it in case the devs fix the issue. In Il-2 you can just stick it at RUN and leave it there which you wouldn't do in RL.

    I have a question, why are the electrical switches not included in the video? Also, why is the carburettor air and heat controls arent seen in the startup procedure (even though its already set). Is it because IL-2 only has limited switches, or is it because video time? No offense, im just asking, because i just wanted to know.

  • @RequiemsACTL

    @RequiemsACTL

    Yeah it's basically because Il-2 handles a lot of things automatically, so for Il-2 videos I tend to only focus on what's relevant for it as a result. When I do the DCS P-51 I'll cover everything as that requires more in depth knowledge.

    Hey Onebad, the DCS P-51D manual Pages 134-136 with Figure 92, which seemed to correlate with where I got the basis of this technique from the below link in Section II, Pages 23, 26. There is no speed listed for the base turn, but about 150 mph is what felt comfortable for me when practicing. The full flap extension I waited for until established short final above 400ft AGL because it suggested to wait until the airplane is into the wind before extending flaps fully. Touchdown at 90 mph is what I expected as well. www.avialogs.com/aircraft-n/north-american-aviation/item/4714-an-60-je-1-flight-operating-instructions-p-51d-and-p-51k-series
