Instead of the Big Bash for the following--21st birthday; 30th birthday; 40th birthday, etc. take yourself far from the madding crowds for no less than 60 days of seclusion. A self-retreat without all of the hordes and activities of your daily life. Plan ahead for this solitude. Take the time to explore where you have been and where you want to be in the next period of time. Let those who care about you know that this is the best gift you could receive for this important periods of you life. If they DO NOT understand they definitely belong as part of your "review"--including parents, children, and marital partners. If they are unable to fathom the importance of a time of solitude they are probably part of a problem to be addressed.

I cut ties with someone I really treat as my special friend because we have unexplainable connection with each other. It turned out that he's draining me and it's not a healthy connection. I'm the only one who understands, and who gives effort. I hope I did the right way of detaching and I know it's helping. I just can't help to relapse and reach out to him again. Help me what should I do :(

you’re reaching out because you’re attached , and such attachment stems from an idealization of that ex friend that you have. Ground yourself and remember who that person really is, never puts on the same effort and does not care the same way you do, which means he does not perceive you the way you perceive him. Recognize that you deserve fulfilling relationships that match your efforts and energy.

Great thoughts but humans normally grow and develop in relationships. Of course, you can read a ton of clever books but finally you will just circle around yourself, which is fine for a while and we are social beings and shouldn't end up super smart and lonely. Of course Stoicism is great and bad company that drain us is very sad.
