Very solid tutorial on different types of smashes! Thank you Coach.
this is the best tutorial of badmiton ,the chest is more important than shoulder when you are smashing.

This is one of the best video on smash. In fact other video like backhand is sooooo good and practical .... I learn more in your 2 video then watching other 20 video combine.
Helping me a lot. Subscribed to the Legend
Thank you Tony❤ please upload more tutorial.
Ga kakean cingcong, langsung sat set to the poin, maturnuwun ilmune LEGEND🔥🔥🔥
The hard part for this is that it consumes a lot of energy. If you don't have a massive stamina reserve, it is a struggle to sustain these jump smashes.
Thanks so much coach tony you are the best
Great video, Legend
Thank you so much
Very helpful as always. I highly recommend your channel to parents, teachers, and coaches trying to develop programs around the US. USA badminton has Shuttle Time, a program to introduce badminton in the schools. Because there are only a few places in the country with world class coaching, these videos give newer programs accurate information. Kids who want to develop can attend week-long summer camps at elite centers around the US to build skills too. Thanks for all your posts!
Great video! Can you do a video on front net block/push forehand and backhand?
So clear . Thank you coach Tony . Awesome Jump smash Fan from Taiwan

It worked! I tried the side jump smash today, it was fast and efficient when you don't have time to turn the body and do a full jump smash. Thanks a lot :) I will have to practice the other two forms more before I can use it in the game.

Hi Tony, I've admired your skills for a long time and it's great to see you teaching here on KZread. I wanted to ask you about the use of your non-racket arm when smashing; some players have their non-racket arm fully extended as they load their rear leg, whereas you only extend your non-racket arm AFTER you've jumped (as seen at 4:58). Is this just personal preference or are there other factors to consider?
@BadmintonOvertime
2 жыл бұрын
You are correct. Non-racket arm is just to keep your own balance. So it is for personal preference how far you want to extend it.
Mantap mang tony 👍

Tony, can you make a video about smash tactics like where to smash the shuttle in Men’s Doubles? For example, down the middle, down the line etc.? And also strategy or considerations when playing against left handed opponents! Thank you.

Great tips👍 Coach, how to use our wrist at the time of contact..? Shall we snap(bend) our wrist or use forearm rotation(pronation)..?
@BadmintonOvertime
2 жыл бұрын
gotta use both. Snap your wrist accordingly and follow through with forearm rotation.

Clearly explained. Very well executed but I m unable to jump both legs.
tony means is it very important that a quick turn of the upper body and a quick elbow?thanks
@BadmintonOvertime
2 жыл бұрын
Hi Pijer: yes, in general badminton requires many quick turn of upper body, hip, elbow, shoulder and even wrist.
When you are doing the smashing I realized you are wearing another pair of a very nice all black shoes. Would you mind to share what model is the all black plain shoe? : )
@BadmintonOvertime

Hello - It’s Yonex Infinity - comes in either all black or all red.
I have a question for you: when about to perform a scissor-kick, should one land on the toes of the racket foot when loading for the jump (rather than the balls of the feet or even the whole foot)?
@BadmintonOvertime
2 жыл бұрын
both ways are not wrong. it all depends how far your position is from the shuttlecocks.

@@BadmintonOvertime share trs yo pak tips2 teknik 😁 suwun
To be honest, based on the explanation I still do not understand why one would use double legs jump over scissor leg jump. It appears that using both legs could potentially reach a higher point of contact (wasn't that clear in the video). Also, the three different jumps are toward different directions. When scissor leg jump was used, the body is slightly moving backward (with simultaneous rotation and forward motion recovery). When using one leg jump, the body is moving side ways (maybe slightly forward) but giving up rotation. When using double legs jump, the body is mainly going straight up (with slight forward momentum). I think timing and movement directions would dictate what jump one should use (of course, during games, this would be intuitive given the flight patterns). I appreciate the motion breakdowns.

@BadmintonOvertime
2 жыл бұрын
work on the timing and your position. improve your wrist and core strength too.
When I do a smash, It looses power as I dont get a clean hit. Somehow it is slicing and going to the left side opposite court
@BadmintonOvertime
2 жыл бұрын
Focus on the timing and the position of your racket head during contact. Don't worry about hitting it hard first. Practicing the timing and position often to make sure not ended up slicing the shuttlecocks.
