Follow your heart! Don’t get stuck in a career you hate because life is too valuable. Thank you so much for watching my videos!
I’ve been looking for more black women in CAA! I’m currently applying & this was so helpful! ✨suscribed✨
This is the best KZread video I’ve ever watched. You’re so good! Thank you so much for sharing.
You’re a delight ❤ Please keep making these videos! I appreciate it so much!
So grateful for this video. Thank you for making it 🫶🏾
This is what I looked like when I watched this video while I ate my dinner, while I already knew all the info 'cuz I got in, but just watch for your fun energy lol: 🤓🤓🤓 Great video, though; this is such good information for anybody who wants to apply to CAA school!
I just found out about this program. I live in Wisconsin and the school that offers it is a little over an hour from me. I’m in LPN and currently finishing my prerequisites for ADN at a technical college. This is motivating me to aim for As on my classes now.
Watching this made me realize I’m NOT a good fit for the CAA program. Mostly because I can’t pass physics! I hate physics!! lol There’s no way I can get a 3.8/4.0 in all my pre reqs. Sighhh
Omg I love your energy. I’m so glad to see diversity. Question, is there a lot of essay/ research paper writing in CAA school?
Thank youuuu ❤
Not a raccoon dying 😂 Farren to funny
Thank you
I am going to start shadowing soon is there a specific hour log sheet I need? Also if I have past patient care experience how do I need to show proof of that?
You are so funny 😂😂
I have a low undergrad gpa and a 4.0 post bacc gpa (retook majority of prereqs) Do you think it will be helpful to do a smp before applying?
@Farrenamara

I say apply now and then if you don’t get in, then do the smp. Especially if everything else looks good.
The comments you mentioned about requirements (scores/gpa) and competition...is that from the perspective of the Florida programs?
@Farrenamara

No, this is a general perspective of getting into all of the programs.
Farren, are the recommended pre-reqs mentioned in your video undergraduate or graduate level courses?

You are quirky, and I love it!!! ❤ I'm a registered nurse and work in PACU... do I have the requirements to start my CAA training? 😘😘😘

Hi! I loveeeee PACU nurses! Thank you so much for the work that you do. You definitely have a lot of patient care experience, probably just need to make sure the prerequisites/admin tests align (some schools ask for specific courses that others do not). Your personal statement and LORs are going to be awesome though.
I love your video it really inspired me to really go the CAA route. I do want to know are you able to work while attending the program?
When I was in clinical (Wisconsin), I did hear of the First nurse position. Is this similar to anesthesiologist assistant?
What are the requirements for international students
I love your video I’m currently in school for RT . My question is could I possibly apply in the future to a CAA program ?

X ray? Im finishing up my associate in imaging science but I don’t know what to do afterwards. I really want to become a caa
Considering the rising popularity of the profession, do you think there'll be saturation in the near future?
I am highly considering CAA! The problem is that my state don't have AA schools nor do they permit CAA to work here (yes one of those states 😒). There are only 16 states that permir CAAs to work and that's concerning me (job wise, growth, future outlook). What do you advice? Thanks!

I moved from NC to TX for my program and within those two years many job opportunities were created back home(I just wanted to stay here). This profession is really growing and we are in high demand. You may not be able to work in your home state right now but there are many other opportunities out there and eventually your state may open up as well. There aren’t many AA schools right now but there were less when I first started this journey. This is definitely a promising career and growth is inevitable. It’s very easy for us to leave one job and start another and there are a lot of travel opportunities as well.
I’ve been an OR nurse for about 5 years and am thinking about CAA school. I know I definitely need to retake some of my pre-reqs to get my GPA up, but do you think programs take clinical experience into consideration?

Do the nurse version
Did you take the GRE or MCAT?
Hey! Are you open to shadowing opportunities? I live in San Antonio. I am really interested in becoming a CAA. :)

Hi! I do not do shadowing right now but I know several other AAs in San Antonio that do. Let me see what their schedule looks like and figure out a way to get y'all connected!
Do you feel like a bachelors in anything else like business would be accepted to go into the program? I’m an A student high gpa and I’m not interested in business at all the medical field is where my heart is 100%. But if I could get this bachelors and then pre reqs and apply it would be a faster route.

If I go back for my bachelors in chem or biology it’ll be another 4 years before I get into the AA program 😩

Just take the required prerequisites. You don’t need a degree in chemistry or biology.

Hi Farren! I am interested in pursuing the CAA route and I loved your video! I do have couple questions for you. 1) I still have to do a few things for my application including getting my shadowing hours, possibly retaking the GRE and writing my personal statement. When do you recommend getting applications turned in? I know a lot of the schools have different deadlines and that a lot have rolling admission, but what timeframe do you recommend? When did you submit your applications? 2) I took the GRE last year and got a 156 Verbal, 153 Quant, and a 4.5 Analytical writing and my GPA is a 3.96. Do you think I should retake my GRE because of my lower quant score? What were your scores and other CAA students' scores if I may ask? 3) What would you focus on writing about in the personal statement? I have about 800 hours of patient care experience having worked and volunteered in Physical therapy as an aide, do you think it would be good to include that on the application and on the personal statement? thank you!
I have all of my pre-requisites but my gpa is low. I have a 3.1 cumulative should I still apply and shoot for a high GRE? I do have a lot of b's and c's so Im not sure what to do, because I do not want to take a lot of classes over. Should I start studying and apply for the 2024 cycle?

This one is tough because getting in is extremely competitive now. I would retake some of the prereqs especially the ones you got a C in. Competitive gpa used to be a 3.5. I’m sure now it’s at least 3.8/4.0. I think you should take some time to get the gpa up, take the mcat (harder but means more to some schools). Make yourself the best candidate you could possibly be.
