Learn Chinese for Beginners: This & That in Chinese

In this lesson, you will learn how to use "this" and "that" to refer to objects and people.
A: 这是什么?
zhè shì shén me?
What is this?
B: 这是一个苹果。
Zhè shì yí gè píng guǒ.
This is an apple.
A: 那是什么?
Nà shì shén me?
What is that?
B: 那是一本书。
Nà shì yì běn shū.
That is a book.
A: 这是谁?
zhè shì shéi?
Who is this?
B: 这是丽丽。
zhè shì Lì lì.
This is Lily.

    Question: That + mw + noun I see or heard some students saying "Na shi ben shu" instead of "Na ben shu" was it right or wrong?

    I just watched another video about this. No, shì shouldn't be used here. Just as You are beautiful would be: Ni hen piaoliang. No need for shì too. It was in a video called Most common mistakes for Chinese learners.
