you actually did it, you madlad I actually got some extra information, thanks, BTW, I know how much you like DWM, so can you do a tutorial on installing DWM on DEBIAN (DEBIAN is super stable& it deserves a lot of love) also, could you make some easy tutorials on how to configure DWM like adding the PolyBar, ROFI& SUCKLESS browser etc.....

Sure did, thanks for the original suggestion! And glad you got some info from it. I do appreciate all your ideas and like to write them down as they come in. Deb and DWM? Interesting combo. I like Deb a lot but haven't tried the combo before.

@@SavvyNik I have a laptop with 1GB RAM (although the working memory is around 800 megs) can BSPWM or DWM actually function with something that low, for some reason MX linux with it's XFCE& the FLUXBOX WM (especially with version 19.3) works smooth, but MANJARO BSPWM won't even install maybe its the bloat in MANJARO

@@AcidiFy574 Yeah possibly.. I know the base DWM only takes like 80mb so I don't see why that'd be a problem.

@@SavvyNik maybe its MANJARO or the CALAMARES installer (it says it needs 1 GB working memory at least )

Thanks for this tut Nik! I made the mistake of installing the Brave browser bin version with yay on my arcolinux installed that I spent forever ricing and now I cannot get rid of the binaries that are preventing me from allowing Chrome as my default again. I zipped my home folder to hopefully speedup my reinstall. Fingers crossed! lol

@@SavvyNik Thanks, but I messed up lol I dragged and dropped the files I created as tar.gz into a fat32 partition that I use for storage and backup on the same drive I was reinstalling arcolinux. Install went splendidly though I could not recover anything from the tar.gz directories. Am I correct in assuming this is because I dragged and dropped the files? Thanks for a quick response man!

PS...I had done this in the 2-step process eg tar first and then compression with xz. Is that where I messed up? lol I've subscribed to your channel and will be reviewed more of your tuts. Thnks again.

It doesn’t sound like you messed up to me then. You archived the files and then you compressed the archived file. You should be able to decompress and de archive the files. If it’s easier try and use the zip utility. You’ll just have to install it depending on your distro (sudo apt install zip). It’s honestly easier to use

Hey Nik , sorry to ask this and here , what's the best linux distribution that you would recommend to those who love kde and expects it to be fully functional and stable ( crash free , bug free )

Debian stable with KDE desktop. Nothing fancy but is focused only around stability as far as the distro goes. Or Kubuntu.

Other things I do is add a password and incremental tars for backing up my documents folder to thumbdrive. Maybe a suggestion for others.
