Russian is one of the most popular languages in the world, and it's also a beautiful language. But learning it is not always easy - there are so many words that sound similar to each other! That's why we made this video: It has all the most important Russian phrases for absolute beginners, so you could start with these and then learn some more. Every sentence has an English translation on screen so you can understand what I'm saying.

Learning Russian is not easy, that's why we created the Russian Level 1 channel. It's full of study resources created for beginner students of the Russian language. All Russian words and phrases in our lessons are translated into English and transliterated into Latin characters. They are repeated two to three times in both slow and fast Russian so that you can clearly hear the correct pronunciation. @@_hunter_hunter1048 I’m a native speaker of this language. It’s pronounced when it’s not stressed. Молокó (milk) is spelt moloko, pronounced more like malako, because of this thing called vowel reduction

What I like abt it is that once U learn d alphabet words sound near exactly how they're spelt. It's very phonically.
1:03 "Do Svidanija" (goodbye) is one of my favorite Russian phrases to hear, I don't know why but it's so satisfying to listen to

I sympathize with you, I hope you will be able to cope with this difficult period. As a person who also experienced depression a year ago, I can recommend listening to classical music for an hour or two a day at times when you are alone with yourself and your thoughts. If you don't like classical music at all, then start searching for compositions from those that are called "not boring". They are able to captivate anyone. The waltz betrays me the most motivation, because of its rhythmicity. Maybe reading Russian literature will also help, it is melancholic and tragic, but after it you really want to live. I hope everything will be fine with you🙏❤

You can totally do it! Your nationality doesn´t matter at all
I'd recommend slowing down on the longer sentences and focus on the pronunciation. I took Russian in high school and have always been fascinated with Russian history and Russian people. To say Russians are resilient people is an understatement. I'm sure the average American has more in common with the average Russian than their own politicians.

I understand the meaning of half of all the individual words shown, which helps me understand the structure of the language more instead of blindly memorising phrases. Whoever has more time, i think they should translate the individual words too

I think this video has encapsulated the context of early Russian very well, not as one video I watched where he was asking for her telephone number, and then twenty minutes later asking 'where did you put my socks?'

Just wanted to say something about the hello translation: Здравствуйте is closer to hello than привет is. The way I learned it was that привет meant hi while здравствуйте meant hello.

As someone learning, ive thought to consider "привет" as more of a "whats up" than a "hello".

@@draydinbardon9782 yeah it’s more informal, mostly reserved for family and close friends. Здравствуйте is more formal.

привет is a friendly greeting used with someone you already know, use здравствуйте with strangers and in formal settings.

I am trying to learn this language so I can talk to my Ukrainian friends (they also speak Russian)because it would be so much easier to speak to them, and I want to surprise them with the new sentences because they barely know any English and it would be so much easier if I learn more Russian so I can speak to them🙂
