I have super thick hair too and stylists remember me when I walk in, even if they have cut my hair just once. I'm time consuming to them, and they don't like it. I would love to have someone who understands and wouldn't make me feel like I take up too much time.

Same with me. When I get layers is not really the layers I want. I guess it only looks good for those with thinner hair. But a stylist was rushing her work with me and told me "wow...you have so much hair...good God." Needless to say...she did a bad job on my "layers".

I hear that! It makes you feel awful right? Not sure where you are based but I recently saw Anna at Aveda Pasadena. She spent over 90 minutes thinning my hair it was incredible! I'm from the UK and have never had a decent haircut which actually thins my hair properly until I went to her.

I don’t go to any salons anymore because the last time I went (about a decade ago) they literally called me a lion and kept laughing at my hair. It was so humiliating

Thick hair is a blessing and curse . 😁

If that’s thick hair then I have no idea what mine is because her entire hair is just the bottom layer of my hair lol

My bangs are thiccer than other people's entire ponytails lol. Yeah I have trouble finding anything online that relates to my mane. I wish I could find a hairdresser that would do this for me, though.

Love seeing your razor cut demos and I’d love that straightener!! I was studying to be a barber but you and your channel inspired me to delve into the world of styling as well. Nice technique! I have many super-thick haired guests, and my co-workers tend to pooh pooh razor cutting. It is great to see someone else doing it too. And disconnecting! Me too!!! As someone newly licensed and an artist, it can be hard to keep confident. I never gave thought to over-directing to the front. That flat iron looks dang nifty!!

Clicked to see a style for extremely thick hair. Left disappointed after seeing that her entire head is about 1/4 of the thickness of mine. :(

Shay W, if you had thick hair, you would understand. I tried cutting my hair today and it did not come out well. People like us come here to look for help; this video is useless to us now cos what the heck are we gonna do with it when the model has 1/5th of our hair thickness. 🤦🏻‍♀️

haha we are SO not, it takes so much work along w 2 hrs to style at all & we can't get a lot of things like bangs or anything because it wouldn't work on our hair texture

Absolutely gorgeous! Very simple and easy cut, but very effective. It looks so elegant and timeless. I do hair by appointment only; special occasion hair and makeup, proms, weddings, pageants, etc...and it's been a while since I've updated my inventory of styling tools. Love the cut. I too have a shaved spot at the back of my hair from ongoing and multiple neurosurgeries. My hair is extremely thick (my ponytail even without about a 2 1/2 section underneath is still about 3 inches in diameter) and about her length. My shaved area is growing out, before next surgery next year, and it only gets to be about 2 maybe 3 inches before I’m told another surgery is needed. I usually end up wearing it braided or just in a low ponytail to hide the crazy shaved to extremely short hair. However, I am excited to try a more subtle curl after a more controlled blow out. Hopefully this will allow me to be able to wear newer, more professional hairstyles. Thanks for the video!
