    Thanks for the info. I've recently been considering one of these. My grandpa had one when I was a kid. My lawn looks like 5 miles of bad road compared to yours but I have a ton of pine needles and I just can't do all that raking anymore.

    Thank you so much! Neighbors tree drops tiny leaves and stems on my driveway.. Your fix with the addition of the strip of tape at the bottom front edge is solving my problem picking up the mess!

    pumped, i just bought this to pickup olive & oak leaves from my front yard. running my greensmaster at .50" and HATE sucking the leaves into the reel. Thanks for the review Doc!

    Really happy I came across your site and videos. Bought the McLane mower and just ordered the sweeper. I have emerald zoysia in South Carolina and looking forward to using the new equipment. Any advice on Zoysia is appreciated, although I know you're a Bermuda guy. Take care.

    Do you think it will work on taller/longer bermuda? I know you said yours is at 1/2", but mine is at 2.5" and I was curious if you thought that would hinder anything.

    I have walnuts.. if it snows before I get all of them out, the squirrels go nuts and I end up with super sharp walnut hull pieces that hurt, (think Legos and barefeet).. will one of these lawn sweepers help pick up those pieces??

    Doc does this pick up the plugs left by an aerator. I will be top dressing soon and this would save a ton of time from taking the aerator cores. Plz advise

    Please can someone tell me if this would be good to pick up / sweep up Hickory nuts from the lawn .. please .. if someone has one and can try this for me .. even if they don’t have hickory nuts but can throw acorn or anything on the grass so I can see.. thank you in advance

    Just bought one. I have difficulty with wheels turning. They just stop turning and skim over. Do I squirt some WD? It's really not worth 200.00. Basket quickly adds up. Arms get tired quickly from pushing.

    Just surface stuff? What about the leaves that are down by the soil? The grass grew past it. Had to rake by hand because the blower wouldn't get it out, they are so compacted to the soil. 15k sq feet. Ugh!

    Just got a similar one from a relative that’s made of metal. It retails for $349. It also needed modifications. Going to try that duct tape mod today. BTW - I have the opposite problem - Magnolia leaves.

    Yes it will. When I was young our first mower had no bag and we had a Parker lawn sweeper that we used to clean up the grass after mowing. The clippings fed the vegetable garden.

    Wow Doc! This is something I need with all of my large oak trees here in SC Speaking of trees, I don’t think I am going to be able to successfully maintain Bermuda in my yard with all of the shade. Will all of the products you recommend, (PGF complete, Super Juice, DuoCide, humic, etc) do well with Zoysia grass? I love your advice, website and program, but think i need to switch to Zoysia Thanks in advance

    I have zoysia, follow Doc’s program, use all the same products, and have a gorgeous lawn. It has responded well to the program and products. Only difference is That I mow a tad higher.

    Yes Wendy... it will. Just learn to use the up and down handle raise to reduce the DRAG on the lawn. You'll understand when you try it.

    Hey Doc. Your "neighbor" down in Newnan. My lawn has been starting to brown over especially in front with the extra shade. I noticed yours isn't. Should I be worried? I know your lawn is MUCH healthier than mine. Is it too soon to brown? Neighbors here are too. Sad to see my green grass go to sleep.

    Tough to say.... with the MOD... it might work. Without it I think they would just shoot out the front.

    I would like to know also. I also wonder if it would pick up oak leaves and acorns in St Augustine grass. They always fall in between the grass blades so we have to rake hard.

    where did you buy it for alittle above a hundred bucks! its 200 on homedepo and amazon!!! its so expensive. I have another idea to add on to your modification. you can apply a half adhesive vinyl door draft stopper, which they sell for like 5 bucks at home depot onto your leaf sweeper for extra durability.

    Forget the duct tape. That cheap fix won't stay on. Instead, get a length of aluminum/vinyl door weatherstrip, or like a door sweep, and drill small holes along the width of the sweeper where you stuck the tape, and attach the door seal with little machine screws.
