Put a new fuel tank on my LT2000 a bit ago. Original had separated at the seam and yes the gaskets was in the bottom of the tank in pieces. Also put on a fuel shut off like you have here, filter and new gaskets in the Nikki using the Kohler kit. Runs perfect now. I also remove the Ethenol from the gas for all my lawn equipment and my classic car. It is nasty stuff when left to sit between uses.

Hello T Bone. After searching off an on for a video just like this i finally found you today! You are a great teacher and i learned a lot. I have basically the same mower, DOM 1/21 an it died in the middle of the job last fall. Briggs gives ya several books with the mower an they dont even cover my e1550e engine. I wish you, or someone like you was nearby but i can't find a repair guy to trust either. Rifht now i am push mowing mine an my 100 yr old nieghbors yard an this yezr my old body can barely do that too! So first i saved this for rewatching to better learn from you an then realized i just needed to sub an watch all your stuff. I also sent you to a buddy who will love this too.

Hey, enjoyed the video. Ran into the same problem with the surging. Swapped with a new carb, same thing. I'll check the tank and fuel line tomorrow. However, I did notice you cleaned out the debris caused by the deteriorating gas cap, yet still used the same old gas cap after the cleaning.🤔 Did you clean out all the loose stuff off of the cap itself before putting it back on?? If so, sorry, I missed it. Sending a few bucks your way to show appreciation for your videos. Thanks.

T-Bone : I have a 21 Hp B & S on a rider - all of a sudden it is running at a constant high RPM when throttle is at normal "run" position. It is not surging. The rpm is constant at 4000 rpm in run position. I can back throttle off to the lowest position and it will run at around 3500. What's wrong? Thanks!

My mower has the same symptoms. It's NOT the gas cap. I can get it to run again, BUT it quits after maybe 30 mins. Sometimes it lasts longer sometimes not. The fuel cap is NOT tight so there is venting.
